I want to enhance Archs' points. The assassins have to find "the shot" on *different* planets with different weather and gravity from huge ranges. They also not only have to not only use and shoot but also maintain a monumental amount of varied weaponry. Holy shit, I love this content.
Was about to note that gravity can differ very much, but pretty easy to counter, but what makes things difficult is atmospheric composition, air pressure and particles in the air. Other thing is how much and what kind of light gets trough as this could effect eyes but also visual sensors. I remember in Dark Crusade I was getting ready to push the final part of the Tau stronghold, still bringing up more troops but was trying to soften up the enemy with my Vindicare, suddenly it starts the victory cinematic. Turned out the Ethereal wandered just into range right after I activated his special ability, from that day I never doubted the sniper.
Horus had a minimum of two. Too lazy to check the book, but one as a solo mission and one as part of the execution force is the absolute minimum since all clades tried at least once before the execution force of all combined assassins was sent. Though iirc the book states the eversor clade tried with several eversors instead of just one. And there have been cases when, to send a message, they unleashed as many as 5 eversors simultaneously on a target ... cluster. The command structure of a rebel guard uprising (because you don’t send an eversor to just kill ONE target) specifically, though by end they ended up killing the uprising. And one of the lovely fine chaps in skull-masks even survived by the end of it!
That line about finding the shot makes me think. Was the Vindicare that missed the shot on Xaphan was taking that trick shot out of choice, or was the inquesition pushing him for a rapid resolution? I'd imagine a professional would have prefered not to take a gamble like that given the choice. But the Inquesition are not known for being as patient as a Vindicare assassin, so taking a few years to find a perfect shot that couldn't go wrong probably wasn't an option.
You know, the hypnotherapy might have other uses for the assassins. Considering the infiltration side of things, you might have a pile of things from it that are for different worlds and cultures so that the assassin can blend in for infiltration and exfiltration, along with different things about the specific planet to aid in things such as local predators and issues that could be for them there.
Ultimate apocalpse lets you have three of them and they are amazing for the guard just park them at a nice vantage point you enemy infantry just poinks out of existance even heroes get taken out in a few shots love em

Assassin: I’m not a Eversor, dad. I’m a Vindicare. Dad: What’s the difference? Assassin: What the be!? One’s a job, the other’s mental sickness! -Vindicare justifying his career.
Kreigsman recruited by the Vindicar: "No thanks. You put too little emphasis on teamwork, Artillery, and CQB. Too much on this long-range shooting and NOT DYING nonsense....."
Imagine a video game where you can choose the temple you want and then they let you run amonk on a fairly large map! a kind of Hitman with multiple choices.
watching this video (specifically the story with the dark eldar pilot) has made me reevaluate what I want from a 40k tv show. I'd love for 40-60min "episodes" from 40k. Not a coherent story, but elements with the general theme running through. Think early black mirror. Imagine following the sniper along his journey to make that shot, the effort, the dedication, the patience, all for that final moment where he pulls the trigger and you follow the bullet going through the cockpit. Hell, I'd do it all without the sniper saying a single word. Just because 40k is grimdark doesn't mean it couldn't be sophisticated. But not just this, I remember hearing about some netflix animated series following a similar pretense, just short stories with general themes, Animatrix also comes to mind. This show could be used to set the groundwork for a true 40k character/story driven epic.
alternate idea, the whole episode is just the council of assasins deciding which branch should be the one to go for the target, with each of them going through how their organisation would do it. The Eversor section would just be a blurred red fever dream with enough blood to make Khorne proud.
kaplahworm hypothetical: unleash every single eversor in commoragh. Enjoy the show. Sad thing is, the degenerates drukarii would most likely enjoy it as well.
Me personally, I could imagine the Vindicare assassins, hell ALL assassins are probably gene-boosted in some way. Maybe not like a Space Marine, but definitely given some cutting-edge and perhaps risky procedures to alter metabolism, muscle density and such. It could explain the 'moss and sea birds' farce, but it's my head-canon. Makes stuff far more easy to explain.
Recruitment poster: It’s as easy as point and shoot. Small script: some terms and conditions may apply, survival rate sub 10% of basic training, extended missions may be required (slime suckers will not be turned away), polymath preferred.
Maybe the Vindicare get some of the space marine geneseed organs (or a variant of them) implanted. The Haemastamen, the Preomnor and the Catalepsean Node come to mind, especially the later one would be extremely useful during extended camping sessions.
Vindicare: Dad, I'm not an Eversor, I'm a *Vindicare* !... Well, the difference is ones a job and the other is mental sickness!

And by this I mean take ... let’s say the skyrim map, and make it possible to fire from the top of high hrothgar to the temple in markarth rendering all the way there and simulating everything over that huge distance. No computer would be able to run that kind of game. Because that’s the kind of shot a vindicare should be able to take in extremis.
The romance choice would be interesting
you can play as one in that Inquisition game, a Death Cult female assassin
The guys that make crisis would make a good one.
Ah yes, that guys hidng somewhere killing my my heores during the battle in dawn of war.
Wolf Warrior
other than the bane blade and command team we did need a reason to play the guard :)
IMMentat you’re telling me basilisks and leman russ spam are not good reasons? Also if playing UA (and why would you not), titan spam to put the orks to shame, bloody Imperator titans that one shot anything and deep-striking baneblade-type tanks.
See, in the UA mod I have a great counter.
It's called *massed artillery bombardment fron every available Earthshaker in the vicinity*
*Failed to stop the Vraks War*
Death Korps did.
Dont you mean started the VRAKS WAR
Some argue the cause of it
Failure means Mass Death!
dude he killed 30 milion with 1 shot. thats a hell of a shot to kill ratio.
The Vindicare or: 360 YY No-Scope from the crane on Highrise
Commissar: "Did anyone get that xenos filth's number plate? What, no-one?!"
41.13 imagine what you have to do to get "more than one" eversor assassin sent after you. im pretty sure horus only had one sent for him
Ohhhhhh God emporor......I don't wanna think about that. Such action that requires the attention of two eversor.... How badly did you fuck up?!
Are we ever going to get the tempestus Scions imperial guard video.
When Agent 47 and Golgo 13 just won't cut it.
The last thing you never see
What a fascinating video about Ork Snipers. I bet the Celestial Lions will be disliking this video.
"I don't count the shots that hit I count the ones that miss" - some edge Lord/vindicare
You can't spell Vindicare without "I care" ♥
They should totally make like a movie or anime about the 4 assasins and their adventures, would be one hell of a series!
Assassins always hold the moral high ground!
This is an entirely legitimate comment with depth, in no way meant to trip the algorithms into promoting dank 40k content.
I love the way you tell those stories, like a proper storyteller of old. Keep on keeping on!
"shit has hit the fan at hyper sonic speed" best sentence thus far
Ultimate apocalpse lets you have three of them and they are amazing for the guard just park them at a nice vantage point you enemy infantry just poinks out of existance even heroes get taken out in a few shots love em
"Boom. Headshot."
"Sniping's a good job mate. Challenging work, out of doors, and I'll guarentee you'll not go hungry. Because at the end of the day, so long are there's two people left in the imperium, someone's gonna want someone dead."
"Dad... dad I'm a... I'm not an Eversor dad I'm a Vindicare! What the difference be is one is a job and the others mental sickness!"
"I'll be honest with you, my parents do not care for it"
"I think his mate saw me... yes, yes he did"
"Feelings? Look mate, you know who's got a lot of feelings? Blokes who bludgeon their wife to death with a golf trophy. Professionals have standards.
Be polite, be efficient, have a plan to kill everyone you meet."
The skylines in imperial cities is definitely prettier than what we have around today.
Awesome, so the assassin's pistol is like Dredd's
They should make a more basic version for the Arbites
Arbites don't need them dude, they roll in fuckin Rhinos and use human scale bolters, shock mauls, and probably desert eagle calibre revolvers.
And shotguns. Big, fully automatic and with several different ammo type shotguns.
For the spirit of analytics, this was a good episode! Helps my long painting session! :)
Your daily offering to the UA-cam Algorithm. Blessed be the zeros, and the ones.
Loving the vids Arch, really gives some appreciation of just how much work vindicares put into a single shot.
Also your comment on eversors at 41:12 had me in stiches. Brilliant
Seems like Arch either hates making messes or hates cleaning up messes.
Vindicare: if you hear the shot, you weren't the [first] target.
Yet another grand video from one of the few quality 40k content creators. Thank you good sir.
It’s really more about the quality of the machine spirit rather than meat bag holding it.
Imagine a video game where you can choose the temple you want and then they let you run amonk on a fairly large map! a kind of Hitman with multiple choices.
The Vindicare, or as the 88th Siege Army calls them: “That jackass who crapped the bed so hard we got called in.”
Krieg guardsmen looks over the Vindicare training regime: "Just another Tuesday then?"
We absolutely need a Vindicare assassin meet the Sniper tf2 parody
watching this video (specifically the story with the dark eldar pilot) has made me reevaluate what I want from a 40k tv show.
Now imagine that whole scenario with an Eversor assassin.
just because I said it *could* be sophisticated doesn't mean that we can't have some fun every now and again!
alternate idea, the whole episode is just the council of assasins deciding which branch should be the one to go for the target, with each of them going through how their organisation would do it. The Eversor section would just be a blurred red fever dream with enough blood to make Khorne proud.
kaplahworm hypothetical: unleash every single eversor in commoragh. Enjoy the show.
Sad thing is, the degenerates drukarii would most likely enjoy it as well.
So what happened to the imperial armor Series
It got stuck in the mud. Probably on Vraks.
AlphaOmega925 and then given a light downpour of high explosives
Me personally, I could imagine the Vindicare assassins, hell ALL assassins are probably gene-boosted in some way. Maybe not like a Space Marine, but definitely given some cutting-edge and perhaps risky procedures to alter metabolism, muscle density and such. It could explain the 'moss and sea birds' farce, but it's my head-canon. Makes stuff far more easy to explain.
Me, a Son of Dorn, hearing how Thick some walls are: Good Lord Arch! Stop teasing me!
"Tell your men to stay out of my way"
"Vindicare have the most sophisticated and advanced stealth suit technologies.."
-They have nerfed Crysis suit.
"One Shot, One kill!" - Sniper 1993
So anyone make any LIVII jokes yet!?
Plenty, i've seen at least two so far
8:30 Turbo Penetrator Round.
_in the distance: Adeptus Mechanicus giggling_
"...founded by its namesake, Lord Havelock Vindicare"
Thanks for uploading this. Waited Long for this Codex-Info. I Love those Assasins.
I think the pronunciation for Vindicare could be this
Single assassin: a Vindicar assassin
The group: the Vindicare
"Here's a touchin' story. Once upon a time you died, and I lived happily ever. The end"
Recruitment poster: It’s as easy as point and shoot.
Small script: some terms and conditions may apply, survival rate sub 10% of basic training, extended missions may be required (slime suckers will not be turned away), polymath preferred.
Great job. I love your Lore Videos. Keep up the great work
Maybe the Vindicare get some of the space marine geneseed organs (or a variant of them) implanted. The Haemastamen, the Preomnor and the Catalepsean Node come to mind, especially the later one would be extremely useful during extended camping sessions.
'One shot is all I need...' Make it double, shaken not stirred...
I don't even play 40k and if not for total war wouldn't even know about it, yet here I am binge watching lore videos...
Can't wait for the Culexus spookie bois
Fun fact, in an old Predator game there are Vindicare rifles in the enemy unit roster, and dreadnoughts.
when arch says a mini-series i wasnt expecting it to be the hot leathery assasins.
And no Love Can Bloom reference.
the comments got you covered lol
Yay Arch getting back to Lore videos my favorite.
But do they use acid bullets, Arch!? Do they use acid bullets!? They won't tell me!!!
if I would ever be an imperial assassin I would probably be a vindicare, siply because their way of killing can be quite flexible.
As a big fan of the Imperial Guard in Dark Crusade, I gotta say that the Vindicare assassins are my favorite.
