I think when I was 10 years old I was still working on my strategy of tying my shoes. Really fun and impressive. You could almost see the wheels turning in his head.
@@haniigg well true to a point, but if you look at all the stats Russia is number 1 while India is number 4. I mean it just comes to how people take it I guess, and way you worded it was a wee bit ehh xD
Congrats, Anna. A win is a win. It usually never pays to underestimate an opponent. You are getting better at time management. I thought you did a pretty good job of analyzing his game. I always want to see more of your games.
I'm a 75 years old Filipino. Although I understand very little about the game of Chess I've been hooked into watching you play with all of your personal sharing about your chess moves as the game is going. Couple that with a chess board plastered on screen showing the pieces, what more can a netizen who are chess fanatics ask for. No wonder you've got more than a million subscribers.
Appreciating opponent especially when he is younger than you is demonstration of a great personality irrespective of which game you are playing ! Great Anna !
Thanks for mentioning the Algebraic Notation as you move your own pieces and what your opponents does in this game. Telling us this is how your mother moved a certain piece is also good to know. I like how confident and that you have a plan in mind. Sometimes as we watch you contemplate your moves, as the minutes tick down on the clock, it's good to hear what you were thinking and what you were developing to do next. Thank you and yes it would be great to see more of your blitz games at this tournament. Good luck! :) 🐝
He's Indian. And apparently India is on its way to becoming a chess superpower like the world hasn't seen before. The first person from India to go Grandmaster eventually became World Champion. Never before or since then has this feat been repeated.
I've been following for a while. I'm a beginner, haven't played chess in years. I really appreciate your videos explaining exactly what the strategy is and what's expected to happen in the next few moves. It's great study for beginners.
This has been the only game (and sport) I have played in life that a kid can be my opponent and not only that but usually be the scariest opponent. It is a weird feeling for sure.
Sometimes talking is missing in chess - it's part of the heart of the game imho The way you both talked at the end was a real happy ending especially since he recognised you!
the kid in this game is aryan mehta with a current rating of 1935 or sumthing. we're in the same club and he is really inspiring. he even has a dedicated youtube channel to chess and he uploads frequently. we have a good chance to dominate teens. im currently 1550 but i unretired from competitve chess(im 12) and i might become 1800 in like a few months.
E5-E6 rly was a killer move in the middle and i was wondering when he will play it the whole time, then i just realized your black sqaure bishop can step in eh
"I looked at my 10 years old opponent and wasnt very intimidated" Anna, you really should know better than that XD But a very good game nonetheless, half expected this to be another one of those 'I lost to a 4th grader' stories
I play but am not overly great, but I really like watching her play, as regardless of the outcome, she shows super sportsmanship. A very good ambassador for the game. Keep up the good work!
I see you can't estimate an opponent's strength based on age. Great to see the very young kids in these tournaments. And the comradery and graciousness that you express during every game is inspirational.
The way he demonstratively stopped the clock with 2 seconds left to avoid flagging in a losing position was awesome! Kid will go a long way! The final position was a mate in 14 btw
That was a sweet ending with him asking if you are that famous chess streamer 🙂. With the King's Indian, I'm most familiar with it at times when I play it with black. It's is a fun opening (not as fun as The Cow, of course 🙂). I have mixed emotions with The King's Indian. I've had some good games but also have had games where I've been attacked and lose early too.
My voice sounds a bit different this video cause I'm sick ❤ take care everyone and hope you enjoy the game!!!
Get well soon, Anna!
Aww 🤒
Get well soon Anna.❤
Get well soon :)
Get well soon Anna
You know you're in trouble when the 10 year old opponent starts adjusting their pieces before the game
XDDd yes
He had no hesitation in sitting down opposite her. He was very confident.
It's not like he would have walked away seeing her. What did you expect?
Umm….I know he was confident. But it’s a chess game, he was supposed to sit opposite to her, like come on.
Hello My name is Aryan and I am the kid in the video
Really?
What is ur rating aryan?
👌
Awesome
You play chess very well, aryan!!!!

Indians are good in playing chess. After all, chess was invented in India.

She was smart not to underestimate that kid. Great job exploiting that open diagonal with the queen and knight.
"this is a kings Indian" funny playing against an Indian kid

Cool racism hitting the young ones now too, eh?
AND play the KID (Kings INDIAN Defense)

I'd argue that at a chess tournament, a 10yo Indian kid is FAR scarier than a random adult lol
