@@Murderofon3 The more famous they get, the more the shows cost to attend. The venues get bigger, you start having to either pay out the ass or be in a huge struggle to even be able to make out their faces. Rise Against used to play in smaller venues in Portland. Everyone should hope that their favorite artists don't blow up that much.
Listening to this-and Frank Turner in general, really-makes me feel more normal for always having to push away the pessimist in me. Also, the beginning of this song is magic.
I just... I love everything about it. The lyrics, the harmonies over the chorus, the way the instruments come in and lay down the dynamics of the chorus, the piano soaked ballad section and its contrast with the next portion of electric guitar and drums that leave you with a mild lift, yet an awareness that your seemingly unchangeable fate has been dealt by your own hand. He's a good musician. I don't know if it's folk or punk or emo or British pop.. And the thing is I don't care. Sometimes a good song is just a good song, an artist is an artist. Labels seem to get in the way of the symbolic message embedded in music, the granting of passage and viewing of another humans soul. I could get used to this singer real quick.
No matter how I'm feeling, Frank has the perfect song for it. If my ex sang me this, I wouldn't be able to stay mad at her another second. That's the magic of Frank Turner.. :p
This guy makes yelling-no SCREAMING-at your angst, depression, pain, anxiety, madness, whatever is happening in your head...Frank makes screaming at it perfectly fine and normal. It's therapeutic! SCREAM AT YOUR ANXIETY! SCREAM AT YOUR ANGER! SCREAM AT WHATEVER IS HAUNTING YOU!!! JUST FUCKING SCREAM!!!! We all get different messages from the lyrics, but the main core I've seen in the comments is that we are not alone in our madness, anxiety, depression, confusion, angst...YOU are not alone. I'm 52 and have been battling with internal shit most of my life; I recently realized when I saw Frank co-headline with The Interrupters that I am not alone. SO MANY people were singing back at him at the top of their lungs and you could just feel how each and every one of us had the exact same connection, the same feeling of release and recognition. I LOVE Frank Turner for that.
my parents used to listen to Frank Turner when I was younger. it's really nice to get the nostalgia when I listen to him now. it's even better that his songs are so good
Things I have done listening to Frank Turner: 1)Decided to take up guitar 2)Fallen in love 3)Enjoy watching him rise from tiny club musician to Wembley Headliner Thank you Frank :)
I can't imagine anyone not liking this album. To each their own and all, but I can't stand the fact that the second an amazing artist gets the smallest amount of recognition they deserve they're no longer good enough! Just because he's not your wonderful little secret anymore doesn't make him any less amazing! The album is a bit different, but still damn sure better than anything you'll find on the top 40! Appreciate it for what it is!
I agree. His new stuff has the same kind of desperate energy as all of his older albums. He's getting better, as a musician and a song writer. When I look back at 'Sleep is for the Week' I see how far he's come.
I've known of the legend that is Mr Frank Turner for about 4 years now and by god he just gets better and better....real heart and soul he sings out in every syllable of every word.....keep it up x
Discovered this guy on a voucher for an online music store in the alt. section and fucking love it when serendipity is so damn lucky. Sad that I can't remember the site, but WOOH FRANK TURNER.
Crazy good! Started listening to Frank about 2 years ago and love every single f'ng song he's done. The man can do no wrong. Coming to a venue near you.....
Frank Turner...........rocks, man the words have some meaning to me, music is what you make it so said 'the walrus' in any event i could do with 'One Fine Day'!
I'm going through a breakup of some sort, and it's all my fault, I admit that. I listened to Plain Sailing Weather and I was instantly better. Thank you so much Frank Turner.
Don't get me wrong, I really like all of his old albums - I like his new stuff aswell as his old stuff - I love the combination. I like this new stuff, but I love some of his oldies, Love Ire & Song, Wessex Boy, Glory Hallelujah, and my personal favourite Photosynthesis. I don't see why people don't like this new stuff... and then theres the people that love his new stuff and think it completely outsells his old album... I LOVE them all equally. FTHC!
I dont know why I haven't looked up Frank Turner before, I got one of his stickers with some merch I bought so I looked him up and I really love what he's doing. Keep it up.
Fuck it. I have a new favourite song every couple weeks and I always swear that my 'favourite' at the time can never be topped. But this is something pretty freaking special.
Oh god, please help me. I've been stuck on my couch listening to this for days. I'm pretty sure my boss thinks I'm dead at this stage. Too fucking good!
I think thats what he is going for. His lyrics are so heartfelt and meaningful, that a crazy powerful video would just take away from the true meaning and power behind the music. This is raw and thats the way it is supposed to be. Other artists use artistic videos to cover up their lack of talent or effort in their music. To me, he just wants us to hear whats going on and not some bullshit colors or complex theme. Just the music man.
This man has literally saved my life
Mine too❤
His ability to write about such dark and depressing subject matter and make it so upbeat is amazing.
I'm a 48 yr old grown ass man and this fucking song gets me everytime. Frank Turner is brilliant.
every thing he does, and achieves it perfectly. if you ever get to see him live, it makes it even better. i hope you do. much love.
💔 same
I don't understand why he isn't more famous
I'm GLAD. Not that I don't wish him success-but then EVERYONE likes him, and it gets annoying. :)
@@kimberlybaker7110 I hope in 5 years your outlook has changed when it comes to bands or artists you like becoming famous.
cos to be popular now you have to sing pop or rap 😦

@@Construktz In fewer words. You're selfish.
I can find a song of his for every emotion I want to express.
Yess
my guy is perfection.
i am a chef. the hardest thing is simplicity. i imagine the musical equivalent is honesty. fucking nailed it mate.
❤thank you
Kinda though that your one lyric said " your dog reminds me of dying"
😠😭 but i just miss my old girlRIP
Listening to this-and Frank Turner in general, really-makes me feel more normal for always having to push away the pessimist in me. Also, the beginning of this song is magic.
Its Amélie, in reference to the french romcom. He's saying that the film lied to him about love should be, and it's true nature
Haven't found anybody in years who can write, sing and live songs just like Frank Turner. He's a freaking genius!
"I let slip my guard, I let go of the rudder...
now we're drifting in the current away from one another"...

Austin Slater my mom showed me and my siblings this guy, frank, very early on and oh my god all his music is lovely
Lexanation I know right is lovely I saw him at. Victorious
this is exactly how i feel about him. my parents have been playing him ever since i was little- we even saw him in concert and he’s just incredible.
Now THAT is emotion, absolutely beautiful.
+Josh Bausor YES!
I couldn't hear this song without crying for 2 years. Therapy is fucking important. At the least it can let your hear good songs without being sad.
i listen to this song when im depressed it makes me happy and when im happy and want to feel sad it works the same
Well, I guess Frank is the perfect waifu, am I right?
"and when you see me for all that I am, I couldn't make mistakes to make a difference anymore" love this part every fuckin time I hear it
My abuser is a big Frank Turner stan and it brings me a weird kind of joy that he finally understands this song
Saw him play in Liverpool a few nights ago. I was so happy that he played this song live that I actually cried. This song means so much to me.
No matter how I'm feeling, Frank has the perfect song for it. If my ex sang me this, I wouldn't be able to stay mad at her another second. That's the magic of Frank Turner.. :p

i am just in love with this song... the lyrics " everybody´s lover is covered in scars" are the best lyrics anyone has ever written.. just amazing

Frank Turner - The gift that keeps on giving.

How is this nearly 10 years old
Thank you so much! Cheers to nigel, most laid back drummer ever!
The mighty Frank Turner
I really needed to hear this song today :)
So glad Frankie is finally getting the attention he deserves. He's amazing!

Can't stop listening to this song. Every time he releases a song from this album, I listen to it too much. It's a disease, probably.
How does this only have under 800,000 views? Honestly doesn't make sense to me. I LOVE this song, and Frank!!!!
+Lay Zan Why care about a view count...
Thought the same thing. I always thought this was his most popular song, apparently I was wrong.
Turner is a modern english rock star. Full speed ahead, brother!
right up there with my all time favourite songs; you're amazing Frank.
Thankyou for this stormy day today for any day for me is a fine day of plain sailing weather.
Staying afloat, relentless waters cannot beguile the fruitful ship.
Show on the 20th of november in Cincinnati Ohio was freaking incredible thank you Frank Turner and the sleeping souls.
I agree. His new stuff has the same kind of desperate energy as all of his older albums. He's getting better, as a musician and a song writer. When I look back at 'Sleep is for the Week' I see how far he's come.
The best 👌
Absolutely great song!
This album and England Keep My Bones are my two favourites of the last year. Wow.
Me every day. Real talk though - any of Frank Turner's songs immediately make me feel less alone in the world.
I've known of the legend that is Mr Frank Turner for about 4 years now and by god he just gets better and better....real heart and soul he sings out in every syllable of every word.....keep it up x
I love this. The song seems to be written off of pure emotion, and the whole album is really deep into his feelings.
You know it a meaningful song when the artist starts tearing up whilst playing it. Frank is amazing!
From what I've heard so far, this album sounds like it's going to be a winner. Can't wait!
The most incredible thing about this video is that it's recorded completely live. This is not the album version of the song. Frank is a true artist.
frank turner actually makes my life
I love how emotional he gets when he sings, 148904221 times better than ANYTHING in the charts.
I am amazed at how this one album made Frank Turner so famous! I remember just say 4-5 months ago no one knew who he was now its like... wow.

just saw him at larmertree, best show I've been too!
man, this popped up on AutoPlay and I didn't realize it wasn't the studio version until the harmonies in the chorus. so good
Such a great song❤❤❤
The pain in his voice as he sings it is what makes it so powerful.
A good friend introduced me to Frank Turner, he's obsessed and I can see why! He's awesome!
My favorite musician
This is the reason I'm waiting for a chance to legally buy the record.. It's worth the wait and it's worth every god damn penny!
I'm going through a breakup of some sort, and it's all my fault, I admit that. I listened to Plain Sailing Weather and I was instantly better. Thank you so much Frank Turner.
Seen him just a few days on woodstock festival in Poland. One of the best gigs I've ever been to, pure magic.

I just love this song. I can't say why, but it amazes me.
And I am happy that I had the possibility to see him live!
He is the best music writer ever
This song was every emotion I felt after my breakup 2 years ago. It still resonates with me
I love this song. I'm going to listen to it on repeat and sing along to it really loud in my car on the way to and from work
I dont know why I haven't looked up Frank Turner before, I got one of his stickers with some merch I bought so I looked him up and I really love what he's doing. Keep it up.

Never thought that I would ever have a new favourite FT song and hear this comes along!
Bless you all
