I respect the honesty here. Too many people are trying to keep the brands happy, and not the buyers. Not a shoe I'd consider, but like you say, plenty of the Hoka lineup yet again looks awesome this year.

This was my first pair of Hoka's and coming from Altra and Adidas these have probably been the best running shoes I've had. The cushioning seemed to take a while to break in but once they did they are super comfortable. I am more of a cross trainer and while I wouldn't use these for max lifts they are good enough for most weight room workouts.
I currently have Clifton Edge which I've loved both the feel during my runs and look however due to the poor durability of the sole they need replacing. I run every second day - roughly 7kms - Iequal hills and flat during the same run and wondering what replacement Hoka you may recommend......

This review exactly explains what it felt like for me to go from the Clifton to the Bondi. I thought I was going to experience at least the same plush ride. However, what I got was a stiff, narrow and almost uncomfortable experience. The shoe does look good though. Good review, I’ll steer clear…

I'm not a serious runner, just a few K per weeks so I gonna buy Kawana just for this colorway.
The colorway is amazing!!
Love love love the look of this shoe, but bummed that it misses the mark. I could maybe see it finding a home as a gym trainer, use it to warmup on a treadmill and then be able to go weightlifting/etc and have a firm stable platform.
Totally agree, it looks amazing!! Would probably be a great show for that. And I’m sure people are going to like running in it, just wasn’t for me
That's what it's advertised as, at least that what I take from Hoka. It's advertised as a versatile causal shoe that you could run in or take to the gym. It's more of a lifestyle Hoka shoe that can do it all, even if it's not too great at doing it. It's not advertised as the next great running shoe, far from it.
are they the right shoes for walking on asphalt?
Maybe, they are definitely for running and some people will think they are fine, I just thought they missed their target demographic
If they had put a softer midsole in this shoe I would have been outside the running store waiting for them to open and buy a pair! As you mentioned though, the shoe looks AWESOME and would be a sweet every day walking around shoe.

Hoka need to go back to the hoka one one clifton 7 that shoe is cushioned very well

The model is supposed to be for short runs and gym workouts, not really a dedicated running shoe.
It’s definitely a running shoe, but aimed at more of a beginner who wants and all around shoe. The gym shoe terminology didn’t come around until a bunch of us shoe reviewers started calling it that. Now Hoka is embracing it in their marketing too 👍

IMHO Hoka road lineup since Clifton 4 became totally garbage. Slow, definitely not cushioned, sloppy, only for walking shoes. Sad.
I think they have a lot of great options, but I respect your opinion 👍
@@RyanClaytonFilmshi I’m 88,4 kg but cutting weight fast, I have used katana and found good, but I want a more running shoes for longer ride, watching both Bondi 8 and Clifton 8, what you think? My knee are not the best , to say ironically)).
