I played The Watertower when visiting Kawai in March. It is stunning. Pity I'm a concert guy… Agree, he has such a fantastic spirit. I don't think I have met such a beautiful and fascinating human being in a long, long time.
Another amazing review Alex!!! The live edge in # 73 is gorgeous!! What craftsmanship!! I also appreciate learning about Kawai’s story!! Sharing the personal lends so much more to the whole picture of what he puts into his instruments, so thank you!!!
Me too but it can be difficult to know where to leave emotions at the door when talking about something that is professionally relevant. I always think unwavering authenticity is one of Southern Ukulele Stores greatest assets but its easy to get away from the point if you follow your heart without restraint.
@@SouthernUkuleleStore Very true . . . but I think you are on the right track . . . authenticity and common sense are rare qualities these days . . . the vibe I got when I met you is that you are 'solid' . . . so stick with it brother :)
Both ukuleles are so artistically beautiful Alex… I would love to hear them both played more, maybe in different styles, as they both do feel like they have quite a different tone and sound to the ‘usual’ demos you give… so happy you are sharing this for both yourself and Kawai, well done xx
Stunning to the eye. Glorious to the ears and very well played! Thank you, they do not play themselves.

Couldn't agree more!

Wow Wow & Wow, They look amazing now they are finished, I bet you're tempted to add one to your own collection. Great Vid Alex as always.
One of my fave luthiers! I'm lucky enough to own one of his instruments! Thanks for sharing Alex!
The live edge model in particular comes across as unique sounding in a good way. It (they) looks too precious to play! True works of art. 😎
Very cool comments about your Petaluma trip and the luthier . . . being an 'emotional guy' is a positive in my book

Some very lucky person has already snatched up #73…
TYDE has done quite a few live edge ukes over the years, but this one from Coast really sounds great.
Wow! Amazing Ukes. I have a slight preference for the live edge one but both sound amazing. You’re so lucky to be able to play them.
I know and I do realise I'm lucky when stuff like this lands on my lap.
Do much like the dark position markers on the light fingerboard
both are very nice. A bit out of my league as a beginner though. Thanks for posting.
If they inspire you in any way... that's good enough for me.
Well, unique - but in my eyes not aesthetic at all.
Words really do not do these justice. Thanks for reigniting my UAS 🫣
Aww I love that
