I ordered my suit a month ago and been told dispatch time should be around 2 weeks time so if 6 weeks thats not too bad. Ive a mate who ordered two tri lam suits and he's been told beginning of november. Great video.
I got in the suit overall im happy with it there is like a permanent straight crease on the fabric on the chest area i cant seem to sort for love nor money. The neck seal was stupidly tight so i had to slowly cut it down. I always meant to do a video on it but havent gotten around to it. Watch this space ill try get one uploaded with a wee review. Ive dived in my suit 2x and its been completely dry during the dives so. I got the neoprene one.
Thanks for the video. I've been considering the Seaskin Nova and you're right there's really not many videos like this for their drysuits. One thing that I didn't even know about was the cheap chinese drysuits. You should do a video on that, where you got, how much, features, etc. Sounds like it's not something that will last more than a year.
About right, never lasted too long. The uncompressed neoprene was definitely weaker in every way. For 350 though, it was fun to mod out (at least early on). www.aliexpress.com/item/33036045242.html
may the zipper will work way better if you wax if you wax it will last significant longer and way longer than plastic zippers 😄 And are you sure about the shipping time 7 month seems a bit long for the 7-8 weeks despatch time they are declare on theire website greetings from a waiting seaskin Nova buyer from germany 😉
And for the question to store the suit with the zip closed or open seaskin have a manual for their suits on their Website www.seaskin.co.uk/acatalog/Download_Drysuit_Manuals.html If i remember it right you should close the zip if you pack it in the bag and if you store it in a wardrobe with a hanger but if you want to hang it after a dive to dry you should open the zip cheers Vincent 😉
They ship wax with the suit. Trust me, I've tried wax, I've tried detergent, even silicone lube (would not recommend), just stay away from the heavy zipper unless you know what you're doing.
I dont think so either on their website they declare a despatch time from 9-10 weeks right now. in summer it might be less i'v ordered mine 1 1/2 months Ago with a despatch time 8-10 weeks and they told me my suit is in production now so hopfully i have my suit by the end of April
I'm looking to order one (I'm in the UK) and I called them a few weeks ago and the current wait time then was I think 4 weeks they said. I heard (but aren't certain) that their factory may have been closed during parts of covid lockdown etc, or that they may have furloughed some of their staff due to covid, or covid may have caused delays in other ways. Obviously, shipping will take longer to the US. Maybe give them a call and ask.
Super late reply, but they resolved their times almost immediately after my order, from other peoples' reports and a buddy who got a trilam suit. They also bumped prices across the board by 20%, so that ought to match demand a bit.
Still holding up. Had to recently 'patch' it on the innermost side of one of the knee pads. What that entailed was finding the leak (or feeling for it, in my case you could feel where the neoprene was ripped but the outer fabric on both sides was still good) and then dumping a generous layer of aquaseal on both sides of the leak. I swapped out the seals because they stretched a tiny bit, but mostly because I had new ones lying around and figured that I might as well use them. I've had a small portion of the stitching start to unravel, so I resolved it, with, you guessed it, aquaseal. I've done roughly 250 dives in it over the two and a half years, 97% of which are cave dives. Most suits are good for a couple hundred dives, but this one looks like it'll last me something like 400-500 dives.
Great vid, only review video I've seen for seaskin. Looking into getting the membrane one myself.

How are you both finding the suits so far, have you had much chance to dive in them yet?

Great video, I am curious if that heavy duty zipper will bed itself in over time. Perhaps I should just stick to the standard brass zip
Great video! Are you still liking your seaskin or any issues? I'm considering a seaskin.

did you really wait 7 months ?! that's really a turn off point , I was thinking to order one but waiting 7 months is a NO GO!

How is the suit holding up? Anything you would change. I’m considering this over the nova hoping it will leak far less
how often are you using it and how’s it holding up so far?
