He is not lying I am from Dallas born and raised. Born in the early 80's 1982 exact and raised as a 90's kid and early 2000 adult. Texas has been like that for a long time. Still no casinos at all, weed still illegal here, liquor stores don't open on Sunday's at all. and don't talk about prostitution, oh yo ass going to jail for sho. You can now buy beer on Sundays at 10am now, it used to be 12 noon. That's the only thing that has changed.
There are a couple of small casinos in Texas, but theyre inconvenient to get to (by design) and in undesireable locations.
I remember working as a cashier in high school. The software on the registers wouldn't even let you ring up alcohol

Most folks moving to Texas go to Houston Dallas and Austin TX. And Texas cities are huge. Here in Georgia most people move to Atlanta and the suburbs of Atlanta.
And the thing is Atlanta is a small city. It’s not big. People are moving outside the city in other counties. I’ve been down there plus my sister has been there for 25 plus years.

Harris county (the county where Houston is located) also decriminalized up to 4 ounces of marijuana, and anything under 2 oz's they're not even citing anymore (if you don't have any warrants or weapons on your person). The surrounding counties make too much money off of weed offenses to just let it go like that. Texas is ok if you know how to move, it's just kind of tricky sometimes.

I stay in Dallas and it use to be that way getting arrested for weed. But not anymore the city Council of Dallas came up with a law that states if you have a quarter pound and under as long it’s not backed up and you’re not on probation or parole you would not go to jail for weed. The reason for doing this is because the jail system was overcrowded with bullshit weed cases taking up space from the real criminals.

I usually tried to stay lowkey while being seen at the same time by very important people.
