I enjoy your channel, I watch a lot of Midwest farmers with corn, grain, and cows, both dairy and beef, so learning about different types of farming is interesting. I am sorry the excavator "experts" did not read the comments to see that their answer was in several comments before theirs and with the attitude some of them imply. Still, an interesting channel. Thanks
I'm sorry BUT This is not a dragline. This is an excavator with a long boom Long-reach excavators are versatile machines suitable for a wide range of applications. They can be used in tasks such as dredging, This Has a bucket capacity of 0.39 to 0.65 cubic yards. These are two different types of equipment. A dragline usually refers to a large bucket excavator that is controlled by a system of pulleys, chains, and ropes that hoist the bucket have typical bucket has a volume ranging from 40 to 80 cubic yards. So when I heard you were using a dragline I wanted to see it. I'm sorry to bust your bubble on this equipment
@@RockyMountainFarmer I'm sorry, but I stopped watching it. I own a repair shop, so I've gotten busy with customers and repairs. I'm not tied to your tube it's a great distraction when I need time to relax and think about what I have to do next.
i have little suggestion for your farm instead of keeping manure on ground you can actully build a circular pit a little deep and wide enough it can hold your manure for whole year. for refrence watch a video of channel name farmer drone where they turn solid manure into liquid and then spread it across their whole field i have been following from last year much love from India 💗💗
That would work, but the problem is we don’t own the dairy so we don’t really have any control over how they do it. I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for showing this long reach excavator. Its brand name is ( Hitachi) The bucket size is very important these type of excavators can roll forward if the bucket is oversized
This is a Hitachi EX300LC about a 1998 model. It ia an excavator with a long arm. Hitachi has made every excavator that John Deere has sold. All of them were made overseas. Oh this has an Isuzu engine in it with twin 70 gal/min hydrau;ic pumps.
I’m surprised the excavator operator hasn’t got the trucks park more parallel to him. He’d drop less on the ground and be able to load the trucks higher.
Enjoyed the poop scooper video, thanks for driving out to get us the shots of it working, much appreciated. Is the weeping wall a converted shed roof? If so that was an impressive use and very MacGyver like :) I wonder if the dairy ever moved to a digester system to manufacture Biogas to fuel their farm machinery etc, if that would affect the quality of the residual 'Black Gold' when applied to your fields for improving the soil conditions etc. A little info for those that want it, the writing on the side of the boom of the scooper is Japanese, not Chinese. it's an Hitachi long-reach excavator, I'm assuming it was probably what they refer to a 'grey import' because of the Japanese characters on the stick boom, if it would have been a normal import it would have said HITACHI, Importing that way is not illegal, but most companies won't honor warranty on grey import equipment.
We basically built the wall as a roof, but it didn’t work very well could not sport the weight. And I don’t know what a digester would do to the manure. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Chris, glad to hear that there are 70-year-olds still working. Where are there replacements, or is the question - how old is the rest of your labor force?
Hopefully all the farms in the area are using this as fertiliser & not chemical fertilisers. Farmers absolutely have to get get away from chemical fertilisers & start getting back to traditional & sustainable methods of maintaining the soil. P.S. That's NOT a dragline it's a long reach excavator.
I’ve been watching your videos and have wanted to ask a question: I’m located in the PNW and my operation has lagoons. And dealing with the state regs & all, which is a massive headache every year, how does that dairy fair with their state rules & laws??
The music that everyone hated has been removed.
🤣 did you delete all references to draglines also? 😂 we ❤ u 2 ! 🎉
@ hopefully it’s better now.
Long reach trackhoe !! Be😂

Good to know, thanks for the info.
18:32 It says Hitachi at the roofline seam just behind the operator

Not a dragline! It's a long reach hoe!
Good to know. That’s what the construction company called it so that’s what we called it
@@RockyMountainFarmer That explains the confusion. The bucket on a dragline is manipulated via a series of cables.
Chris, glad to hear that there are 70-year-olds still working. Where are there replacements, or is the question - how old is the rest of your labor force?
Well, this guy doesn’t work for us. He works for the construction company. We rented the machine from.
Chris, what is your business relationship with the dairy? Are they yours? Do you purchase the manure?
The dairy is my uncles, and we do by the manure.
Hopefully all the farms in the area are using this as fertiliser & not chemical fertilisers.

I know most farmers use chemical fertilizers because they don’t have access to this

I’m not sure because we don’t do much with the dairy. I know there is an inspector that comes around from time to time.
Doosan is the name of the machine
Good to know
didn't you release this video this morning???
He took the music out
Yes, but everyone hated the music, so I re-edited it and re-uploaded it
@@RockyMountainFarmer didn't even realize the music. heck I wouldn't have even cared. what was the music if I may ask?
I think it would be good for this farm to get a seperator, so only liquid goes through this system. The solid can be stockpiled in an actual pile.
We’ve been telling them that for years they keep saying it’s too expensive
how much nitrogen is in this
I’m not sure but it’s pretty good stuff
That’s a lot 🐮💩lol
Sure is
Hitachi
its a hitachi
Watch out for the creature 💩of the brown lagoon. 😊
I’ll keep an eye out haha
Thats a lot of poo.
Absolutely
.... collect the schematics and go from there ? wtf dude
dam that is a whole lot of shit
It sure is.
You clearly don't know what a dragline is
Apparently not that’s what they call it.
