I just love you and your personality. You amaze me at what you can do with clothes and turn them into better clothes. I’ve sewn forever (more quilting, purses and bags though) but a couple of those things I didn’t know the name of. I have been binge watching your videos over the last few days, can’t get enough. Thanks for sharing all your ideas and hard work.
My 10 year old daughter and 7 year old twins (boy and girl) enjoyed watching this vid. They had so much fun trying to name the items. I learned the French ruler and the Tailor's ham and won't ever forget it. Thank you!
I have all of the tools. I really did not think that the metal thimbles were made anymore. Thanks for the tutorial. It brought back memories. My mom use to sew at London Fog.
I have been binge watching your videos these past few weeks (all the way from your day 1!!!) and I just want to say that YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Your on-camera presence is unbelievable. You’re a total self-made PRO! And if you do your own editing, OMG!!! Angelina, you have so many talents and so much to offer. I feel so blessed to have found you!
You did really good! To be honest, I just learned what a tailor’s ham was a couple years ago and didn’t own one until last week when I needed to record this video. 🤭
1. straight pin 2. pin cushion (I had always wondered about what that little thing hanging off was for, since I was a kid, but you pointed it out in a previous video 3. hand sewing needle 4. thimble (what Angela should have on at all times) 5. Thread 6. seam ripper (did not know what the ball end was for but your tip on it has made a task easier and quicker) 7. Fabric Scissors (woo child I know now why my Gma used to get upset when we use her good scissors for cutting out our paper dolls) 8. Snippers 9. measuring tape 10. Procter? 11. sewing chalk 12. iron cushion 13. Sewing machine Yep, you definitely got me on 12 but once you said it I think your mom might have mention this, because I had an oh yeah moment. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.
I knew #12 because my Meemaw had some and called them "hams," but I had no idea that the little baby tomato on the pin cushion was for sharpening pins! I also didn't know that the thin, tiny pins with the flat metal heads were for silk. I never liked using those types of pins, but now I know when to use them! I love your videos! They're not just packed with good instruction, they're super entertaining, because you have the most upbeat and positive personality. They're my new favorite thing to binge-watch. lol
I am so glad I found your channel! I am teaching myself how to sew to be able to open up my creative space but also to make my own outfits! Your videos are so easy for me to understand and I appreciate you! I AM excited to see how my skills are a year from now! I plan on learning from your channel! :) Thank you in advance!
Oh wow❣️ I only got 4 of the answers right lol I just purchased a used sewing machine for $25! It was selling for more at a thrift shop but my dad talked the man down to $25! I can’t believe how cute some sewing machines are! And some have a digital screen?!?! Wow! That pink one u showed us was really cute! Mine is heavy and I think it was really white at one time but now it’s an off yellow colour but that’s alright cause I’m just learning and want to do what u do! You are a creative Queen my dear!
I have a bunch of the long pins that were used to hold carnations on the lapel. Yea, I use them when needed and they have come in handy at least once. Also, the way I learned about the difference in scissors is that the ones used to cut fabric are called Shears and the ones used to cut paper are called scissors.
@@BlueprintDIY thank you for commenting. I am glad I found your channel. I am trying to upsize a pair of jean shorts and I just got a good idea for them. The denim I have to help open them up is not long enough so, I am going to add t-shirt material and have a fringe in the seam while the rest of them are going to have the hem.. I am hoping it looks real cool..
GOOD AFTERNOON!!!! This tutorial reminded me of fashion designing school because I had a test naming different product for sewing. I guess all of them right ✅!!!!! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work. Have a wonderful day 😊 Robin Clayborne
13 sewing essentials on the 13th day if the months💕💕🙂 I know all the sewing tools except for the french curve thingy 😏 I have all the sewing tools except for the french curve thingy 😏 love the video Ms Angie 😊🤗
I never knew what the thing attached to the tomato looking pin cushion was for! 😂 I will now be taking it off and putting it on the pin cushion I love!
Hi! I'm a new sub. I have been watching you for a couple months or so now. I only sew out of necessity. Also work, I run an industrial embroidery machine. I don't even know how to use a regular sewing machine, lol 😋 I got 11 out of 13. I don't believe I've ever seen a french ruler. I think I knew about the ham but long since forgotten. You're videos are fun, interesting, entertaining & inspiring! Thank you for your channel!!!
Hi Misty! Welcome to the BlueprintDIY family! 🤗 Wow, you skipped elementary and went straight to college on the industrial embroidery machine. You aced it though!
My grans kenmore will only straight stretch so I watched your sewing machine review & bought 1 of them. Now I have to read the quick start guide & get busy! My upcycles are piling up. If I don't hurry. I'll forget what I was going to do with the item. Lol
I had fun playing along. You are right, I didn't know the proper name for # 12...However, due to the shape I should have guessed it. Keep up the fun content!
❤ 💯 On test 😉 👏🏾 Had a sewing ham back in the day , don’t know what happened to to 🤔 Want to get a pair of those ✂ have Ginger scissors, they need to be sharpened. Working on getting sewing machine 😁
For a t-shirt sleeve, where it looks like a serger stitch on the inside but on the outside it just has two nice straight parallel lines, is that done on a serger or regular sewing machine?
Thank you so much for these videos. They are a godsend for someone who knows absolutely nothing about sewing.
I’m so glad!!
Tailors ham was the thing I couldn’t name. I thought 💭 of it as an ironing ball to iron the curves in your clothes 😅 I can’t live without it!!
At least you owned one. 😆 I just bought one and I’m probably going to be using it so much now.
Knew them all! I've been sewing for about 65 years and had "sewing lessons" as a young person -- we to memorize all the tools!
You aced it! 🎉

I got them all! The tailor’s ham (and sausage roll) are so hilarious, I’ll never forget.
😆 Sausage roll
I always learn from your videos; French ruler, curve ruler and a ham. I think I got 11 of 13. Great video as always.

Yup, mom got me on that one last time. That’s when I learned what it was. And yes, I should absolutely always wear a thimble on every finger. 😆
Thanks for all your helpful tips 💓 I will use all your tips when I get my sewing machine I want to learn how to sew thanks for inspiring me

I don’t, Sorry 😞
1:51 Never knew about that little part of the tomato🙃
I knew them all except the tailors ham, I've always called it a "Taliors Cushion"...🤣😂🤣 Duh, me...🤣😂🤣
I didn’t know until a couple years ago and I didn’t own one until making this video. 🤭
@@BlueprintDIY 🤣😂🤣😂, well...like they say, "We learn something new everyday"...
You have both a talor’s ham and a sleeve roll on number #12.
For a t-shirt sleeve, where it looks like a serger stitch on the inside but on the outside it just has two nice straight parallel lines, is that done on a serger or regular sewing machine?
It’s done on a coverstitch machine, but you can do it on a regular sewing machine with a twin needle.
