Interesting enough, the manager was a former assistant at Barca and he instructed them to go out and score as many as possible in order to build confidence or some such. He's lucky that there were no injuries due to this strategy. You're right, the reason why such scores are rare in football is bc most managers don't feel it worth the effort to run up the score in such matches.

LOL, cup matches can have some ridiculous mismatches. It's amazing that this was even televised. Alot of cup-matches that are such bad mismatches barely even get a crew and that's just for highlights.

Sundowns has already played Barcelona in 2007 while Ronaldinho, Etoo were hot property. Pedro scored the winning goal after Sundowns led for 70 minutes through Surprise Moriri. I think Bojan scored the other goal. So what do you all want??? Sundowns is a top class team and they have already participated in the World Club champions and beat Boca Juniors 3-1 in the group stages. I think AC Milan won the trophy that year.
