THANK YOU...... last week Jason shared a practice routine... and both of you, sharing honestly, helps all of us... about how you'all practice... so you actually practice and not born with the skill.... this is SO inspiring. Thank you!!!!!!!!!
Hard to believe it's been 10 years since I learned how to play blues harp from watching your videos, Adam. I haven't played in ages either, but man... watching this makes me want to pick it up again.
Thank You, Adam! Love that! So glad You share this! You sound great! Your singing is awesome too - sausagemaking or not! Being vegan that would be a vegan sausage :) You have always been such a HUGE source of inspiration to me!
Adam! it's about a two hour drive, but I'm gonna try to make up to Flagler for one of your shows! you've been such an inspiration to me and my harp playing! hopefully see you soon. 😊👍
Thanks Adam! Great Video. This last Fall the band I play in played for my niece's wedding (no blues, a lot of fun folk and fiddle tunes but light work for the harp player.) and right after I got sick for about month, where I kept working but at my minimum of 15 min. I didn't do much technique work. When I felt better and got back to it, I was shocked at how quickly and far I fell in my playing. It was rather depressing, but the flip side was I was shocked how quickly I build back up the strength and technique. It only took about four or five days to mostly get it back. Thank you for the insight into how a working musician gets ready for a gig after a lay off.
It's interesting to see the approach if the harp is a primary instrument. I usually practice scales splits octives and chourds because i play the leads and just pad the rhythms. Thanks Adam I do love sausage !!
Wow! Pretty sure you’ll get in shape really soon with that kind of training 💪 thank you for sharing this perfectly not perfect practice 🫶 it’s very inspiring 🎶😄
Adam, such an awesome player , it’s amazing just to watch what you do and try to follow along somehow ,that’s a lesson I want to be at , 3 days??? South Florida ?
Man Love your playing first, second I live in Ormond beach Fl, Man I would love to meet you, listen to you, learn from you. I been playing for a long while now but still to shy to show off to public. PLEASE let me know where you will be. Thanks bro!
As a newbie I do know that lip strength is a must. I play flute and trumpet but the Harmonica is a way different beast. What do you suggest? To a new comer to the "Harp"?🙄
@@gussowsclassicbluesharmoni2726 trumpet 🎺 you basically purse your lips with takes less control than wrapping your lips around and holding the instrument. After about 20 minutes of harp playing my lips feel like they ran a marathon. This has been my experience at least 🙄😕👄
Adam, for how long will you practice each day, leading up to the first gig? Do you have the goal of playing for close to a couple of hours or so per day, by the gig date? Or is practicing for 15, maybe 30 minutes, per day, sufficient preparation for you?
Definitely NOT two hours! Although I wish I did that. But 30-60 minutes most of the days will bring me back on line. It's also extremely important to allow all the negative feelings--"I've lost my feeling for the instrument, my chops suck," etc. They will pass. It's like a relationship. It takes work to slide in close to your partner.

Class act.
this is actually really cool!
when you record do you take the audio directly from the microphone or do you record the output from the amplifier?
If I’ve not played for a while my face and jaw get really tense after about 5 minutes….takes a few sessions for that to stop

I think that harp and trumpet have some similarities, actually. (My son played trumpet for many years.)

my god this guy can play
I always find I use much more breath when soloing, no matter what pieces they are. Is that usual?

Hi Adam love the videos, just my first harp and trying to get you lessons but the link doesn't work
I just checked all three and they open easily. Please try again.
@@gussowsclassicbluesharmoni2726 i have tried on 3 search engines, google, brave and bing , but no joy
You must have more understanding Nieghbours than me.
Yeah, nobody around here seems to care. They're not RIGHT next door, in any case, so they may not even hear what i'm doing.
I have to practice in the car😂😂
👏💙👏
You're a blues man. You're supposed to cuss
