    my favorite moments in the world are when all different kinds of people are able to get together and do something without judgement. this is exactly what is happening, and everyone is literally singing about it. the original recording moves me to tears 90% of the time, so i hope you can imagine how this made me feel, all different people singing it together. i’m sobbing and i can’t stop HAHA

    I started to really listen to their music around a month ago, now I'm addicted lol for so many reasons... and I just can't stop thinking that if I had heard about them before this pandemic happened, I could've saved some money to go to one of their concerts here in Brazil when they first came in 2019, now I have to wait until it's safe to go to live shows again, god knows when GVF is coming back here... Anyway, watching this kind of videos just makes me want to be a part of the crowd even more and feel the message they want to spread with their songs! They seem to be very nice guys with beautiful souls, I'm more than happy to be a fan now and to live in the era that they are reliving rock and roll! I love this song, I hope I get to see them live one day

    • @TatianeCamposs
      @TatianeCamposs Рік тому +1

      @@wesleyalan9179 Wow, thanks for asking! That was such an amazing experience to me and I love to talk about it, I have so much to talk about! (I'm so passionate about that so this is going to be a long and detailed text but I'll try to summarize what happened, if you don't wanna read it just skip to the last two paragraphs, but please don't, I spent so much time writing it)
      I felt so lucky and privileged to have a chance to see them live when I was so new in the fandom, and I couldn't wait till that day!! So, I saw them in May as I told in the other comment, but to do so, I had planned a 4 day trip to Rio with some of my gresties and we'd share a house in the same neighborhood that the concert would happen, I wouldn't have much time to go to famous sites (places like Christ The Redeemer were kinda far from the neighborhood we stayed in and very crowded, so it would take a lot of time and money, certainly) but it would be easier to get to the venue and I would be able to enjoy the trip anyway! I got to Rio on May 1st (a Sunday) in the middle of the afternoon and some of my friends too, we waited a while at the airport, took an Uber and headed to the house, then later in the afternoon we find out that the guys are already in Rio because one of our gresties met them at the airport, everything was so fast but the four of them were so kind to her! I think Sam even complimented her style. I was so happy that she got to meet them.
      The next day, which was the day before the concert, we had breakfast late in the morning and decided we should have a beach day. We went with other gresties to Praia da Barra, the beach in front of the place we were staying, but we didn't stay near the house, we explored other parts of the beach. Then, less than an hour after we arrived, the craziest thing happened: me & my friends saw Sam running to the water, one of my friends recognized him when he was still on the sidewalk about to step on the sand!!! We waited til it looked like he was taking off and went to try and talk to him, some of my friends chatted a little with him, I got to the group a little late and couldn't say much (because I was late and because I'm shy) and again, everything was so fast, he said he was heading back to the hotel and offered to take a picture with us! There are videos of this whole interaction online and me and my friends were seen often on Pinterest or Instagram pages for a long time, I felt so famous lol. He was SO kind and SO smiley that day, I felt like he was enjoying the beach so much, he didn't have that growing up in Frankenmuth, neither does now living in Nashville... it really was a beautiful day and it got even more beautiful as we met him. After we took the picture, one of our friends asked him where Jake was and he said he didn't know, that he was probably still in bed (it was 1 PM lol). The only word I said during that whole time was "bye!" and I'll never forget that day. Later, we were still at the beach when we saw on Danny's Instagram page that he went to a golf course that was on his bucket list! I would never know he was, like me, making a dream come true in Rio. We thought we might see him around the beach but this time we weren't so lucky (we spent all our luck on Sammy lmao)
      On May 3rd, finally, it was the day of the show! We were so excited and anxious, we had been preparing for that day since we got the tickets six months prior, so when it finally came, everything we did was because of it: two of our gresties started the line before 6 AM, and me and my housemates got there around 7:30 AM so we could get barricade. People from a fanclub arrived later and organized the line, they gave us paper bracelets with numbers that indicated our positions on the line. We went back to the house around 1PM to take a shower and get ready for the show. We got back on the line at the end of the afternoon. I hid a camera in my hair so my friend could have the guys on film!!! All of our group got barricade - that was nuts!! I got Josh barricade, I was in front of the mic. The opening band cancelled their show because two members got COVID. I thought we would see Greta only, but then a guy with just a guitar comes in front of that mic (that I thought Josh would use first) and starts playing songs on stage. I liked his style, he kinda sounded and looked like Eddie Vedder, but I really wanted to see Greta! After a while he finished his set and we waited some more. When it felt like I couldn't wait any longer, people started testing the instruments - it still wasn't them, but sooner, it would be. A little more and, late as they always are, Josh's speech started playing. When we heard the last line of it, "the weight of dreams in gold", everyone went crazy. Sammy started the intro of Heat Above and and the curtains opened. We were LOUD. There was a beautiful dim lighting, Josh was in front of Danny, he took the mic stand and walked STRAIGHT at me. I felt compelled by him, he really is magnetic. I couldn't look to the others and when I tried, I didn't know where to look. I gotta tell you, that song live is a celestial experience, I see that they play it in the middle of the set sometimes, but imagine it as the opening song. I felt so full of good feelings, my heart was beating fast, I was happy, excited, emotional, overwhelmed and mesmerized at the same time. I was smiling the whole time, except for when they played Light My Love, because that song makes me cry and I was witnessing it LIVE. I tried to hid my crying face from the guys so they couldn't see me and I wouldn't feel more embarrassed. During the show, Josh interacted with us, not a lot, but much more than I could hope he would. Jake came center stage to play some solos and the Age of Machine intro, and in that moment he interacted with barricade too! It was a small venue so it felt like the Troubadour show!! The guys were outstanding through the whole set!! Everyone is a beast with their instrument(s). And I think they really send their message, because I had never felt so much love, peace and unity until that trip and that day. I was so out of my mind I just screamed and jumped to every beat and lyric, so I'm glad my gresties recorded a lot of the set because I get to get back to that day everytime I watch it and feel so nostalgic. There were so many magical moments!! (I put some of those together and made an amateur video - it's on my UA-cam channel! With low quality lol - with the best moments of the show, in my opinion!) One of them was when Josh smiled and took our flag in the last song (Highway Tune), but that flag had had the band's name embroidered in it by one of my friends!! Josh really liked it and, in his words, used it as "part of the stage decoration"; later (still in May I think) Jake even posted a picture with it on his Instagram page, it meant so much to all of us!! The show was even greater than I imagined. I absolutely loved the set and although I missed some songs, I felt such joy and I was totally out of my mind most of the times lol I've made up my mind: I have to live this again! I'll be starting to save some money as soon as I can to do so.
      The next day, most of us head back to our towns and feel like all of those things we had lived didn't seem real. After that, we missed those great feelings so much, for so long! And for the next 30 days, most of us that got barricade get a terrible cough lmao I swear we didn't recover until a month had passed and apparently neither of us got COVID, thankfully most of us were vaxxed & boosted. But the whole experience was so fun and amazing: to travel to Rio to see them, to meet my friends in person - to meet Sammy in person!!! -, other moments I didn't write about, and the show itself, it was incredible. The guys deliver, there's no doubt, and everything we did so we could get to that moment was totally worth it! As a reminder of those days, besides the video I made, I got the poster for dig Rio (I still have to frame it!!) and I wrote a really long (longer than this lol) and detailed (more detailed than this too) text about that trip. Those were days I'll never forget and I'll always miss!
