SOME of these men are actually victims, they were also afraid to speak up and lose their jobs, ruin their reputation, etc. and perhaps had non-disclosure agreements. I think this was a very touchy and difficult situation for a lot of people.
@Trev I am also of the firm belief that the ambitious young ladies were not Snow White's as they climbed. Paltrow in particular, a dull actress who managed to corner the plum role of Shakespeare in Love with a threadbare resume and then went on to a series of unforgettable roles that catapulted her to the banal supporting role of Pepper Potts in Iron Man provides compelling evidence. As far as our "macho actors" (Pitt, Di Caprio, DiNero et all) dealing with Alpha Weinstein, they cowered before him, looked the other way and look at their careers. I understand "men" nothing personal, just business.

I once dated a girl in Hollywood who had basically been taken advantage of by a producer. The thing is, these producers chum up to them in a friendly way, charm them in, make them feel comfortable and safe enough to hang out wherever with the producer, all under the guise that it's just a friendship or a professional discussion, and the producer just wants to help them... and let's face it, these gorgeous young 21 year old women are little naive girls still, with big dreams but not great judgment or logic skills yet developed... so they're perfect victims. Once they've been lured into the spider's web (or house or office or hotel), it's hard for them to get back out with their dignity completely intact. It's a horrible situation for them, and incredibly awkward, because this guy they thought was a caring or helpful professional ally for them is now standing in a robe in front of them pleading for a massage or something... And these girls truly believe that THAT moment could maybe determine the rest of their lives, and their career. While it is easy to sit back and judge them, it's a really tough spot to be put in, and no matter how they choose to handle it, there is no justifying that behavior on the producer's part.
MolecularMoonlight I was just trying to say that sometimes older, more experienced adults take advantage of young people who are more naive. Yes, women mature early... but they don’t have the life experience and self confidence at 21 to always know how to handle these older, more experienced adults with power and confidence trying to take advantage of them.
I don't support rapists or hoes. You said " these gorgeous young 21 year old women are little naive girls still, with big dreams but not great judgment or logic skills yet developed". Gwyneth has been dropping hints about Weinstein for a long time. There are quite a few interviews with her including one with David Letterman, where her statements clearly point to something sinister about Weinstein.
I have been binge watching a few of these Weinstein videos and my stomach feels sick. I feel bad for these woman and all survivors out there. I can’t say I know how it feels but it must have been frightening to have your body and personal space violated like that. All the power to all the survivors.
I had an interview with a tv producer when I was 22 years old. Even though his secretary and a mutual friend were present I still walked away from that interview feeling horrible. I think it was because of one question he asked which was if I was prepared to pose topless. When I said no he asked what about in a bikini to which I answered no. It was a tv presenter role after all. So due to the fact that I grew quite uncomfortable, I started saying that if he wanted to give me the job he would have to deal with my very strict parents first. He confidently said he would come over to see my parents to talk to them. It was such a relief when I heard his project had been turned down by the network. It was the only tv interview I ever attended and it told me never to go down that path again.

Sexual harassment happens everywhere. As a federal employee, I was sexually harassed by an Executive, whom I met when he made me project leader for a fundraiser of his. I was followed off base, flagged to pull over, said he had something to tell me, said it would be quick so it's okay to get back into my car, he opened the passenger door without asking and got in, it was very odd, and aggressive behavior, but i wasn't alarmed, until he began forcing me to kiss him and touching me everywhere, we were struggling but he was stronger than I am, and he got mad because i was fighting him and wouldn't give him my panties. I almost had the door open, and that's when he stopped. he kept apologizing, and walking by my desk on my floor, getting on my instant message, after i constantly kept deleting him. he showed up at my house, not sure how he got my address, guessing from my fundraising project we all did together or my resume because him being so high up and for over 20 years, he kept promising to help me get my resume cleaned up and promoted.. my storm door was locked, thank god. and he knocked for 30 min, sat in his car for another 15, and called my cell phone over an over again. he drove off and came back 10 min later, but called all night, i had to turn my phone off. he left me alone for months, and asked me if I still interested in moving up and getting my resume cleaned up. he knew someone who has a position i would be good for. i said, only if others are around and never alone, not off base, here in the bldg. during ofc hours. he agreed. i went to his office, and stood right inside his door, asked about the job and resume. he asked me to close the door, i refused. he asked me to have a seat, I refused. he next walked over to me with my resume in hand as if to show it to me, but quickly sidestepped me and closed his office door. it happened so fast. I never saw it coming in time to stop him. when i realized, i said, no, don't shut that door. needless to say, things did not bode well for me. I wanted a promotion, I knew he had connections and pull, i kept thinking, maybe he really means it when he says he's going to help me. but I was wrong. someone with his power within our organization, I knew I didn't want as an enemy. I knew I didn't want to report him and have everyone turn against me in the bldg, and treat me as if I have the plague. I also didn't report it because how could I explain, why I pulled over, or why I went to his ofc? I didn't want to be painted as a whore or that I brought it on myself. So i didn't do anything and I'm careful to avoid him. anyway, my point is sexual harassment does happen, but it's not all men. Most men would never do anything like this, and of course having closed door meetings, and things like that would be normal.

I don't know how long ago this happened, but in Jamaica, you could still tell the police about it even if it was a year ago. The next time anyone comes on to you in this manner, you just use your phone to record what is happening either on audio or even better on video and then turn it over to the police. As someone said to me only yesterday, it will be his word against his word at that time.
If Paltrow has any resentment, she doesn't show it. She treats him like he's her fking pimp. If he abused her the way she claims, she would never want to be around the guy. Yet, that isn't the case. @@code0Star okay my point still stands and you’re proving it. It’s sad to see how ignorant and hurtful some people can be without knowing it. We chose what we want to believe in this case because the facts are all there, and all the facts about this case are all there and yet you still decided to pose this question. You can’t speak firmly on this because you are clearly not seeing the big picture 1. There is no “how to speak up about your abuse when it happens” manual. Not every woman/man is going to speak up about it at first because not every woman/man feels the same about the abuse. Not every woman/man will emotional and mentally handle something like this the EXACT way. For example, one person might hide it until years later because of embarrassment and self hatred. Someone else might speak up about it to someone right away because they cannot fathom what occurred, etc. Fear of judgement and people questioning your story, when time and time again there is always that crowd of people that immediately defend a rapist, fear of being labeled, etc. 2. It’s always a lot more comfortable to do something hard when you aren’t alone. What I mean is, all the women who were raped or assaulted by Harvey, hid it for different reasons. Which in the end should change nothing. They would have never have had to take a deal, stay quiet, or wait for the one brave soldier to provide a safe place for women to get their justice. if their environment weren’t so corrupt, they wouldn’t have to wait. The more effort you give to seeing everything about this for what it really is, you wouldn’t look ignorant in the comment section
The nature of this horrible situation is not just about this individual alone but instead the manner in which "the industry" works. The silence of these women stems from the society that is the "darker side of hollywood". We know what is illegal and considered unrequited advances but until you are put in that position you can never truely understand the pressure that comes with blurring those lines of "right and wrong". Certain parts of the industry has created this horrific "norm" for women and when this type of oppressive behaviour becomes a standard, its hard to keep track of your moral compass. These women should not be persecuted for what happened or for telling their truths. I mean, a victim experiences Stockholm syndrome- how is this any different, because they have status and money?
Seriously, what's with this image at 4:08? It looks like the Bond poster for Quantum of Solace, or that Kiefer Sutherland show Designated Survivor. "Weinstein, Harvey Weinstein". The media needs to portray Harvey in a less dignified way. I'm sure that it was unintentional, but it's a bit off-putting.

I have to ask this question. Why did these women wait years and years after they have become millionaires to talk about this? I have a problem with their greediness, and willingness to not walk away at the time and go to the authorities
This is such a disappointing response. A person's experience of sexual harassment/ abuse must be unimaginably scarring and their reaction is NOT for anyone to judge. many victims of abuse do not come out years after for fear and emotional trauma. Also, many women most likely felt powerless and voiceless at the time. You have to understand that society even 20, 15 years ago was not the one it is today! This is not a case of fame and riches. Many women who Weinstein assaulted and abused were ordinary working people, and aspiring artists whose dreams and careers he crushed through his disgusting acts. They were likely afraid to come out against him for the exact same reasons! Let's all learn to be empathetic rather than judging these brave women who had the courage to finally speak out

This is well said
Humans are willing if it’s about fame and dolla. You should’ve just said that
I don't support rapists or hoes. You said " these gorgeous young 21 year old women are little naive girls still, with big dreams but not great judgment or logic skills yet developed".
At 21 if you know how to suck a dick then you are not naive little girls, you are a ADULT especially when you have big dreams. LOL.
Yes. Not just producers. I experienced this with a photographer
We are not so familiar with the names of those who walked away from this creep.... whats that say?
yep, most of them lost their careers over their resistance. If they didn't lose a career, it was a less paying one in Hollywood.
The women who didnt refuse Weinstein's advances and/or walk out, or immediately report against him are no different than Weinstein. They didn't report because they WANTED something from him: a contract, money, a specific role, or favors such as wine n' dine, or introductions to other powerful Hollywood people. See the same women in photos who continue to court his favors AFTER an unwanted solicitation by him has occurred? See them smiling in his presence or even arm in arm? These women WANTED fame or attention or media coverage for themselves; they acquired status and opportunities by enabling themselves to be in his presence, attend his parties, take photographs with him, sign contracts with him, etc. Weinstein WANTED something from these women too; both parties in all cases WANT something. but WANTING is not a crime. Pleading, negotiating, asking, begging, hoping, desiring, wishing is not a crime. All of these women were ADULTS, had reached the age of CONSENT, at the time of Weinstein's solicitations - they all had a responsibility...to themselves. What moral fabric am I made of? We all are faced daily with solicitations that test our value system. Multiple kinds of solicitation from multiple type of people, at any given time. Some women refused or departed and may feel shame for the context, but should feel no guilt. Others, who failed to live up to what they believed in, thus feel guilty or ashamed for the acts they performed. However, NONE of these women were ever put under duress or threatened with violence. They were adults, they had free will, they had their upbringing and individual moral foundation and they ACTED based on these components. They WANTED something from Weinstein and Weinstein WANTED something from them; that is what they share. The character of all of the women who participated in a sexual act, even though they may have said, "I said no no," or "No, I dont want to" are consciously flawed, and they have no merit, to now come foward to accuse Weinstein. Did he have armed.guards present? Were they drugged? No. As despicable as I think Weinstein is, unless he actially raped a woman, or used mechanisms such as drugs or duress to rend the women incapable of making rational decisions, then he is NOT GUILTY. This is the law and it is proper. Mmm, k?

We chose what we want to believe in this case because the facts are all there, and all the facts about this case are all there and yet you still decided to pose this question. You can’t speak firmly on this because you are clearly not seeing the big picture

Most of the victims were also participants in allowing this to continue happening, while bill was forcing no one nor balck mailing anyone, there was nothing to tell the women went along on their own . Not chased or given ultimatum nor did any movie deal hang in the balance
Still blows my mind that Ambra Gutierrez is a name that most people don't recognise on this subject. Even though she basically blew the whistle on Weinstein while people like Rose McGowan are calling themselves "brave" after waiting until their careers die off before they speak up.
Don’t shame another victim smh
Why did so many of these women waited until after they got their Oscars to say anything to anyone?
Let's all learn to be empathetic rather than judging these brave women who had the courage to finally speak out
@@juliasturenino7184 Brave women? That's a laugh... most of them went along with it so they could become rich and opened the door for Weinstein to do the same to hundreds of other women. Don't preach about the effects of abuse...I grew up in the 70s and 80s and was put in the same situation these "actresses" were numerous times- I never consented or went along with any of their offers. As soon as they groped, I slapped their face and left. That's what a REAL woman does who isn't desperate to become famous.
@@saygrrr I will just say one thing, of course it is important to speak up! Who was ever saying that it isn't? But why is it that we have resorted yet again to placing any sort of blame on the women! What about the countless amounts of male employees who worked for the weinsteins who knew EXACTLY what was going on, and continued to do nothing about it! WHY are they not being held to account? Should these men not have protected future victims and held that pig to account by reporting him? YES. OF COURSE. But no, other women now have to shame other female victims too. That's the culture that is being encouraged here. And I would never want to undermine any individuals experience of assault or rape, but also can we just have more empathy! As women, let us not beat other women down. and stop with this 'REAL' rhetoric. Like I said before, the female victims here did not all turn out to be famous! the estimates are that his rape or assault victims could go as high as 500-1000. they were not all dying for 'fame'. Many were ordinary people working for his company. so please rethink your response?
People who said no to Weinstein would’ve never been as famous as Gwyneth.
Gwynethi kind of moving down to B/C list now anyways
Reminds me of the sh*t I used to see people in the streets do for a shot of dope.
Now thats a REAL tragedy
Brad! What a hero. They all knew why did it take so long.
This guy is pure evilll omgggg.:(
"Everybody knew. Everybody knew." A man.
Now he can write his own movie" how the depredators horror works in Hollywood ".
Such a sad thing. I imagine there are a lot of 'casting couches' in Hollywood, but shame on A-List Women that have known this for years and have done nothing to protect all theyounger women just starting. Shame also on Oprah who had to known this for years and did nothing or said anything.
sorry, 22 years old is not a kid, YES what Harvey did was wrong but everyone saying they were a kid when this happened is MISINFORMATION and MISLEADING they were NOT KIDS
I am not saying that the victims are the blame, but why, why did so many allow this to go on and not say anything? Why did people stay silent for so long? Why did some take the hush money? He is a sexual predator, but instead of caging the animal, people let him roam around hurting others. His enablers should be held accountable too.
What about the lawyers who acted to cover up his behaviour. Are they guilty of a crime?
It will be nice that they talk before. It could save a lot of girls
You mean save the girls like these women? Yes, it would be nice to have nailed this perv sooner, but the rich have a way of controlling and threatening people. Give these women the credit due to them. They have now come out with it to stop him. The negative responses from people are part of reason victims don't come out sooner.
Now it is in open all the actress start talking
Well it's easier now. Being first is scary.
Like the red hot used to say: " its understood that hollywood sells californication"...
i hope he gets what he had done to all of his victims when he goes to prison.
How to win oscar award?
She was a kid? Where was her Mother? Paltrow's and the other girl's mother. Has anyone actually seen a good movie in the last 20yrs? I haven't.
We always knew that this and much much worse goes on among these deviants in Hollywood.
All the ladies that's in Hollywood that had major roles in his movies slept their way to the top..smh..they should be ashamed..don't file charges after u made your millions
why are you victim blaming them?
Hes not the only one doing this. Corey Feldman knows
He is a monster!
is it not strange, that anything that seth mcfarlane jokes about (either here or in family guy) comes true? weinstein, caitlyn jenner
No, he tried to bring many things to the public's attention. I think they were set up as "jokes" so he could continue to tell the truth
We hear you!!! Speak up! ❤️❤️❤️
Those of the covenant who bring a charge against their neighbor without REPROOF BEFORE WITNESSES are GUILTY of taking vengence in place of Hashem. Paltrow knew things about Weinstein, she did not come forward to reprove the perpetrator before witnesses, permitting the sinning to continue. Paltrow is thus by Halacha (and common law) an ACCESSORY TO THE CRIME. Then, knowing who this man was, Paltrow nonetheless made business with him to further her own career, which brought success to herself and Weinstein, thus empowering him to sin even more, while Paltrow watched him sin upon others in silence.
Agreed. Mmm, k?
Everybody in Hollywood knew what's happening and did nothing! Shame on them!
Really, I didn't understand western culture. Coz, If he did those acts, how the heck those women didn't break out the story before nytimes did. Corrupt or Fear, IDK.
None of these women were Southern Italians or Sicilians------------this guy knew -------he'd have been dead so fast ! ----------------------------WolfSky9
This niggah only last 5 minutes 😂😂😂 I’m not surprised
...and it takes him 4 and a half minutes to get out of his pants
WE ALL STAND WITH YOU IN THIS FIGHT ! WOMEN ALL OVER THE WORLD ARE STANDING TOGETHER ! WE HALF TO PROTECT EACH OTHER NO MATTER WHAT LIES THE MEN TRY TO TELL US ! WHERE WE GO ONE WE GO ALL ! THE WHOLE WORLD STANDS UP WITH YOU !
If you’re reading this - Jesus loves you!
I am shocked that his back is not horse shattered by now! That's Hollywood!
All those famous women clearly did what they had to. To get their shot. Reese, Meryl & yes Gwenith. Makes ya wonder who all screwed their way to the top. 😂
im sorry, Thats a very strong opinion......
What do happen to men??? What do they have this kind of behaviour in any time in any circumstances??? Every interaction, any conversation and gesture we do is misunderstood and they used to think we are flirting or having sexual interest. This must no continue!!!
It is disgusting living with fear of walking at nights, taking a taxi, even having job interviews or going to work feeling how men looks your body, the way they speaks to you, the advices they give you relating to how you must live with a partner and not alone, etc.
This is so tiring!!!
Many just wanted fame and were very willing to do whatever.
I agree.
They wanted the keys to Hollywood, it just happens that the keys to Hollywood were in Weinstein pants. How much dou you want to be a big Hollywood star?
Even if they did what does that tell you about the system in Hollywood? These are MOVIE makers not fame makers. The fact that its so easy to get onto, whats supposed to be, a successful feature length movie with the stars, someone's piece of art, just by fucking them...shows that these "men" are nothing but predatory pigs. No woman would "do whatever" if that was available to do anyway. That's why the system's there.
A disclosure agreement is a contract. If anything written in a contract is legal than the entire contract is null and void (basic contract law).
Sheesh Hollywood is like one huge Fox news organization. Roger Ailes, DildOreiley, ....
Wow! He is a monster and no one can stop him from doing it. It's really unfair that he is able to make or destroy a career for a woman in Hollywood.
