Still goes on today 2023. With us ordinary folk.
It happened to me when I was younger and modelling/acting. A very famous photographer tried to force himself on me multiple times and I managed to escape each time, and then he threatened to destroy my career and ensure that I would never work in the industry again. When I complained to agents, people around me, and higher ups, EVERYONE said to just go through with it and give into his VERY CREEPY demands, because he could make me famous. I still refused and walked away from my dream and the whole industry, disgusted. It sent me into a huge bout of depression for several years, but I kept my dignity, at least. This was before the Me Too Movement, though.
@@justanotherhappyhumanist8832 Thanks for sharing. My sis and me were also into the modeling world in as teens and early 20's on a local level. My sis had a big chance as a WEF wring girl job and we saw some odd people and strange events, I decided it was not worth selling out my morals and soul for the fake world of fame. In the end it all means nothing. I love the Joan speaks out on what she saw.
I love Joan Collins. I met her once at Club 55 in Saint Tropez.
I believe Marilyn warned all future females about the wolves studio heads.
I think women in Hollywood are a little bit more empowered now but back then they got abused sexually and emotionally and were treated like cattle sad
Not everithyng that shines is gold...
And it also goes on in Theatre, even Community Theatre...
"Marilyn was so abused." :(
Weren’t they all 😢
Hurts my heart 😭💜
Marilyn was not abused - per se.
State of mind of women was different in the day. It is important to understand that.
discrimination for being all that and a bag of chips.
I am pleased to see you have opened the comments
It is frustrating the lawyers said not to say names
?
She was talking about Darryl Zanuck.
It’s most of your favorite rappers and actors

There as evil
It's a cultural issue not just in Hollywood either. Guys with money don't like rejection and not being able to treat all females as prostitutes their property to own.
Sadly,yes... we need to fight more for an intesectional feminism
well said
studios owned actors in those days, they'd even loan them out, it was wild, marilyn was the second woman in history to own a production company, joan collins in land of the pharaohs..wowza
There were other women who had own production company's before MM. First comes to mind is Mary Pickford then Ida Lupino.
Joan is a legend
One of the best hairstyles in general. Screams money. Most likely a wig; a fantastic one.
Such innate and persistent glamor with ease.
Yes wearing a wonderful wig.
@@katharinehill7624 Why don’t more women do it?
It is great and must be a neat way to keep your actual hair undisturbed and healthy.
She's been wearing wigs for almost 40 years.
see this is what frustrates me a LOT. this happens all the time in the Hollywood industry yet no one takes action. it’s all about the power. Specifically the men with the power who think they are untouchable due to the fact that they are higher up than the actresses. society is messed up.
the actresses like it
@@41kilsYou have a distorted view of how women see it. Grow up.
@@41kilsI take it your mums an actress then?
Thats why Harvey Weinstein sits in prison today
@@41kilsNOO they did NOT!!!
Marilyn Monroe was one of the smartest people alive.
Yes, she was intelligent but that’s a stretch.
"one of the smartest"🤣 lets not get carried away
Calm down
LOL! What a ridiculous statement! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree. x
Marilyn Monroe is one of those people that whenever I hear someone speak about meeting her I get so jealous ❤
She is so inspiring
They allllll like to let us know too don’t they
Happy 90 🎉!!!
Phil knows all about this topic...
Just what I was thinking! This interview is very awkward bc of gross Phil.
Who is phil?
selling your soul for a part in a movie
for a career...granted, she could have taken up typing and left Hollywood but likely same abuse would've happened as it has from time immemorial
Hollywood is F'ed, I hope Harvey Weinstain gets what he deserves.
Madra kobieta. Jedyna która nie pożarł Hollyvod. Nie dala im się zapedzić w kozi róg.😅
The irony with scofieid there
No! Not naming these men or even women DECADES later is enabling.
Well , the greek guy was spyros Kouras, chairman of Fox.
As they say, total power corrupts totally. And in Hollywood there's an endless supply of hopeful flesh for the taking.
Just disgusting! Because we continue not to expose these men is the reason why we will never get rid of them. This is just so sad!🤦🏾♀She still looks beautiful by the way.😊
Joan Collins knows a lot more alot more about the world... Do research....
Forever thus!
I am utterly frustrated and disgusted to see the effort to channel what has started out as a campaign to expose the abusive nature of Hollywood into a means to slander the famous actresses -much with the help of people like Ms. Crawford, who pays Marilyn Monroe's mercy for her by accusing her to sleep around for roles -well done! So, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor -who actually did a very good job in Cleopatra- and other successful actresses could only succeed because they slept around? So, the other actresses who have not been as successful can congratulate themselves over their chastity? Is that how it works?
Nothing like defaming dead women, who cannot speak for and defend for themselves. Well done again.
Well , Liz Taylor was in a totally different configuration. A star since she was a child , driven and much "protected" by an ambitious mother, she was a real power by the time the Cleopatra project was around. I doubt any other actresses , especially second rank stars like Collins , were seriously considered to lead such a monumentally expensive project, the biggest ever at the time and that went overbudget. Taylor was always the first choice and signed the biggest deal ever , one million dollars plus a hefty percentage of the profits, which was the biggest salary any actor had ever got at the time ( in spite of the relative failure of the film , number one at the box office but still not generating enough profits to recoup its cost which had escalated due to Taylor and Burton's behaviour on the set, she was the one who got out of it relatively unscathed getting a neat 7 million dollars from her percentage ). She was already the number one female star at the box office at the time of the contract signature and retained her record one million dollars salary until the end of the 60's. So really, Joan Collins didn't stand a chance. That's the saddest actually, those guys were just after those young actresses' butts, with false promises that wouldn't even had materialized had they accepted that sort of arrangement. At the most , they'd get bit parts or subpar material and would get ditched at the next curve.

I despise these miserable people in power.
It’s the 😆 on Hollywood
"What they'd done" - more like, what they had had done to them.
I love joan!
Why do they have to protect evil! She should've said the names
Lawyers.
💕♥️✨
She sure didn't have to worry about men at this point in her life.
Ok, incel.
so think... NEED HELP?
SO MARILYN DID ALL THE NASTY. AND JOAN COLLINS NEVER DID ANYTHING. THEY ALWAYS ON MERILYN CASE.
Oh so nice to see Joan collins. Yeah the wolves at Hollywood you should see the wannabe wolves in New York state. Wolves we get them less prison sentence.

A tobie o co chodzi? Odwal się od Joany.!
Oh, come on, Joan! Are we accusing dead people now?!
It's no wonder a MAGAt like you have an issue with the points she's making. Your favorite rapist Trump (Jeffrey Epstein's best buddy) is on Joan's list of predators too
She didn't mention names
Na što ova liči uvijek mi je bila ružna
She was only happy pretending to be other people..that’s sad
The world is a bad place! Be Aware!
Joan made one mistake in this interview. She said that MM was past over because she was "too old" for a role that she ended up getting. This is incorrect. MM refused to do the film (she HATED the script). Fox suspended her, whereupon she went to NY for more than a year, until Fox acquiesced to her demand for director approval, a raise to $100,000 per film (later increased to $500,000 per film in 1962) when she again beat Fox, getting not only director approval, but also script approval, the right to hire writers for future movies, etc.... during the 1962 negotiations to get her to complete the filming in "SGTG".
