Hats off for Nicholas - the opening letter for the launch of the fund is itself a piece of art. Refering to founders as artists was beautifully painted - the most important part "eschews board seats and administrative control". This refreshing look into a VC firm is what is needed. Countless times I have tried to express this. Thank you, I wish you all the best! And ofcourse thank you Harry for hosting.
It's always impactful when something aligns so closely with your own journey and convictions, especially when it pushes you to engage in a new way. Much of this is why I left my last VC fund.
VC advanced and beginner level: How a real pre-seed and seed investor should think and talk. Enjoyed listening, nodded my head, said my internal prayer that investors like Nicholas still exist, got annoyed at Harry for asking some unpleasant questions and for not agreeing with Nicholas (although it was even better to hear answers on those). Everything that a good podcast episode should be :DD I reminded myself of my grandomther, that followed and INTERACTED with her favourite soap operas on TV in the similar way. :D
There is some excellent stuff here! "Skate to where the puck will be" has always been the motto of VC investing. It changed when more money flowed into the system.
"the less institutional or banker like you can look to the founders in the next decade...". (In this part of the world we say, is there a "lala" (founder) in the VC company... )This line merits a comment.
3 investments per year LOL. This dude has a hobby not a job. I would not take money from this person under any circumstances. Lazy is Lazy, you cant fix lazy

One of your best guest ever. Refreshingly honest about the VC industry and startups.

One of the best episodes on the show in a long time 👍 Kudos to Nick!
Nick seems like a guy I could work with, most of VCs, I don't want to break bread with.

Nicholas is a great wise and kind guest, thank you!
Honest and raw, first time visitor to the channel not what I expected!

Pretty sure the first Pre-Seed firm in NYC was not Notation.
Really good chat

Did anyone catch the names of the two investors Nicholas refers as role models? Andrew Weissman and... ? The other one? I can't hear well.
That headline is like six year old newS! lolol
Nicholas had some insightful points! Though have to say - if that's his real thought process, he should NOT be doing a VC fund.
you better bet there's some real psychopaths here plotting their next moves with this guy
This guy sounds jaded with lazy bad arguments and seems to barely understand how Private Equity or Hedge Funds work.
