I watched like 3 or so episodes of Young Royals and then I couldn't bring myself to continue, because I was afraid it would end badly and from what I've heard I don't think I'll be going back to it.

Also the scene at the end with the song 'why am I like this?' Really breaks my heart, its a scene that hits close to home for a lot of us and the song really just amplifies that.
Yes! 🙌 I agree! Orla’s song hits me so hard in the scene I always cry. I’m 27 now but the 14-15 year old me used to ask why am I like this all the time especially with those google searches. So much healing I didn’t even know I still needed until I read the books and watched the show 🌈💛✨
The music is amazing in this perfect series which stops all of our hearts no matter what age what sexuality and whatever else🙏❤

I was actually say that Harry is the August of the show because he is incredibly clingy with Nick. He’s always there to ruin a moment between them and he is obsessed with being associated with Nick so that he can improve his social standing.
P.S. no one is another August. August inspires a visceral reaction that is unmatched by anyone on television.

To me the thing that makes Ben and August similar is that the actors who play them seem to be incredibly nice and great friends with the other actors. And they are both more than happy for people to hate their characters.

actually in this episode, nick is 15/16 and charlie is 14. charlie's birthday is in the 5th episode where he turns 15 and since nick is supposed to be 1 year older than him and he doesnt celebrate his birthday in the series, im assuming he is already 16...?
Nick's birthday is September 4th, so at the start of the schoolyear. Charlie's bd is April 27th.

Actually they are 14 and 15 years old in that episode. Later on in the season you will see Charlies 15th birthday party.

the animation used throughout the series was so well done without being too much. It's added perfectly. Charlies' sister Tori is just hilarious how she just appears out of no where for a few lines. There are a few videos on here of the cast talking about the series and little behind the scene things.
Because if the collection of scenes, songs and happenings this is my favourite episode

Your comments about Skam are totally on point. For example, Skam France...Axel and Maxence are truly brilliantly talented, and that season 3 was truly ART. But I think there is just something different about Heartstopper....I think its how "basic" it is...how "wholesome" and how one just feels JOY as they watch it. The acting is equally as brilliant. I marvel at all of this rare, brilliant young talent.
With Skam France it’s clear Axel is a stage actor. He’s very talented but he over acted a lot on screen compared to his theatre work which made it feel a bit over dramatic at times compared to Heartstopper

Tarjei and Henrik were art. Maxence and Axel are an oversexualized shit show with 30 y/o actors who can't act.
Credit where credit is due though. Skam was the blueprint and both Young Royals and Heartstopper have said their shows wouldn’t exist without Skam paving the way. I think it’s right that Heartstopper feels more wholesome because of how young the characters are but with Skam it’s still realistic because as you mature life and relationships do become more complicated. Both were dealt with perfectly for their target audience

Yes, there's a lot of similarities between Heartstopper and SKAM but this series is the most wholesome of them all. We are all invested with Nick's character because most of us relate to what he is going through, it's just nice to see our story being portrayed in the most beautiful way, great job Cory and Jason.
I've been lurking here after I finished watching Heartstopper, SKAM France and Young Royals. And I'm having a massive drama withdrawal syndrome with Young Royals. Probably the best bl I've watched.

3:05 actually, at this point in the show, Charlie is actually 14 and Nick is 15 (possibly 16...in episode 1 they said he was a year older but later in the series when Charlie turns 15...Nick seems to be 16 but we never see a birthday for him).

I think as the show goes on you are going to find commonalities between it and not only Skam but also Bad Buddy and Young Royals. Of course, we saw Isak texting and then erasing texts (actually Sana did the same thing), and yes, I also thought about Isak doing the BuzzFeed quiz. And you’re right, it is difficult to watch just one episode at a time; I absolutely could not do it. The show is absolutely lovely.
