Locker Nuts episode 692
This locker has been crazy! Not only was the back story intriguing, with the prior owner having been arrested for theft in this very unit, it has also been filled with many, many surprises. In this episode, I go through the rest of it. There are many more treasures to be uncovered, especially in the last trunk to be opened. Lastly, let's review the best comics that came from the unit - there are some real bangers. These are by far the best comics I've ever found!
This is episode 3 of "Thief's Unit, Cops Called"

The round metal thing is called a steel, it is used to sharpen cooking knives and butchers knives.
I agree with you. My dad used one, and now I use one.
Right on 👍
Thank you
The ceramic and diamond ones tend to be the ones worth any money, but the guy probably used it to sharpen the swords 😉
Yes, it's a sharpening steel. Its actually to finish off your sharpened knife edge (it takes off the rough burrs to a smooth finish) however,
many cooks use it to give their knives a quick touch-up.
I'd definitely be sanitising my hands after touching that "vacuum" 🤢🤢
I kept thinking, “Stop, Jack! Go wash your hands! Scub you hands!
Glad i wasn’t the only one who thought that
@16:50 the Tumi wallet they sell for around $130 new. It a nice brand. Great stuff in this locker( eventhough probably mostly 5 finger discount) its yours now! Awesome videos!
Yeah, I would want Tumi over Louie all day. A great brand and so much less worrisome to sell.
Regarding some of the shirts you found with Cummins logo on them, Cummins sell diesel engines for large trucks. I think you are going do quite well with this locker. Thanks for the video, Jack!!!
Thanks for watching!
at 1:25 that is a knife steel. It is used to hone your knives and make them sharper.
Especially the large carving knives used to slice something big, like a ham or a turkey - here in the UK my father used one of those every Sunday lunchtime before he attacked the roast beef or a leg or lamb. I could hear the noise of blade against steel in my head just as Jack discarded it.
In the jewelry pile, there was a Vintage Girl Scout Brownie pin. I just caught a glimpse, it looks to be maybe from the 60's. Not great value money wise for you. Only value is sentimental for some folks. I still have mine from about that time.
Jack, you are so genuine and hard working and I wish you and your family absolutely the best! Thanks for entertaining us! 👏🏻👏🏻🙏
So happy for you! I hope it turned out to be $200,000+. You deserve it. Hardest working man in the business. Also, so kind, sweet, honest and caring. Rock star human, rare these days! I only wish the best for you and your family. 🥰. Love Luna! 😺❤️
Jack, this locker has been a true knock out. So pleased you got it 😊
My dad was a captain with Eastern Airlines. I can remember the tan rayban sunglass case he used. He started working for EAL as a mechanic. Went to war and flew B24's. Came back alive and went back to EAL to fly for them for 50yrs. The government tried to get him back for Korea but he said no. Amazing men and women back then.
I'm so stinkin' happy for you! Watching you get excited was so much fun. What a great video and what a great locker!
Thanks so much!!
Jack, God has truly blessed you. You continually find good stuff in mediocre lockers!!!
Great video Jack, really enjoyed it! I'd asked about an update in the previous video of this locker and you delivered! Really interesting to see you going through the comics and also the sports cards at the end; so much to pick over like the rarer comics and the "ruler" sports cards, which were very unusual and fascinating. Also the back story to this locker made it compelling too: the fact it had been owned by a thief; that you spoke to the locker facility owner to see if they thought the items you'd bought had been stolen; that the Police had checked through; and that the original owners most likely would have claimed on the items through contents insurance. Anyways, I look forward to further updates on this locker including the comic book grading (and potentially some of the sports cards). Fun, fun, fun!!
Awesome locker! So fun to watch! Thank you for taking us along.
Thanks so much for watching!
44:46!! 😂😅😂 I love how you never take yourself too seriously! You’re awesome!!
Jack, this was an amazing locker! I don't envy you on the work it takes getting it all sold, but you certainly have the process down. By the way, as you were opening the plastic box for that silver cross pendant, I saw the diamond fall out. For quite a while it was on the table and I was hoping you didn't knock it to the floor but you eventually saw it. Eagle eye! haha. Here is the moment it fell out: 54:19
saw it to im waiting for him to knock it off the table. hopefully he sees it
yes he found it
Hello from Chiang Mai...
What a superb ending for this locker!
Truly the best locker since the "Train locker", both financially for you and as an interest for us!
Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you very much!
The stethoscope and the dummy safe dial were likely part of a rig the owner made to practice safe cracking.
Shock and Awe! I think you’ll get your money back, Lord willing. I’m blown away. Very nice, very very nice. Did I miss the video on the estate sale? Hugs for your family. 😊❤
Not yet! I need to finish editing it and will put it out soon, although it'll be out of order chronologically.
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻
Thank you Jack I really enjoyed it. And it was a lot of fun. But then all all of your videos are fun
You’ve done well with this one Jack. Good luck with the selling ❤
Okay... That box of cards... Those are definitely his best cards. That Shaquille O'Neal Magic Card goes for over $2000. The Beast card goes for about $600 and that Joe Namath card is over $1000!! Holy sh*t!!! You just won the lottery!! I hope you give us some feedback on the worh of this stuff once you get some specialists in... I'm definitely curious!
Oh... And that Supreme Fox Long Sleeve, $500-700. I really hope you seriously research every single item you pull out of this locker. Even the things you pass off as no big deal is big money
Omg Dude!!!! That Ty Cobb Cracker Jack card can be worth $125,000 depending on which direction the printing on the back goes!!!!
I was gonna tell you that that long round metal thing was a Knife sharpener.... but it seems people already told us.....lol....Great Locker Jack !!!!!
Thanks!
I believe this locker ranks right up there with the train lockers. Believe it or not I watch for your videos. Sounds stupid to say, but I feel like I know your family from watching so long. I hope you make a ton of money off these cards and comics. Good luck from Ohio
The Garmin had the coordinates for the "other" locker, the key on the "In Dog we Trust" keyring was the key for that locker, lol
Appreciate you taking the time to do the recaps -- thanks!
Thanks for sticking through the video to watch the recap!
Wow this locker is amazing. So happy you got it. Loved seeing all of the stuff x
NICE Finds! How fun and excited to uncover. Score!! 😁
Jack, I've loved all the interesting and profitable items you've found in this locker, but what's driving me crazy is what ever happened to part two of your estate sale that was coming out??? 😖
I need to finish editing it. I've been working with an editor, and he's doing his part on the videos he's working on, but I've fallen way behind on mine! I'll definitely get it out at some point, but it'll be out of order chronologically. It was 2 days of action and a really exciting event. I'm looking forward to sharing it!
The "asian pencil thing" is japanese caligraphy, its a form of art in japan, so that would be a decorative piece, probably a saying or poem. No idea about value since much like a drawing, its value is mostly quality and artist and i have no idea where one could go to have that analized. Still, a pretty neat piece.
Edit: correcting bad autocorrect
The knife steal is for removing the burrs (very tiny metal folds) before sharpening
Hahaha! When you just casually passed by the Lemieux card I was all, "No, wait! Go back!".
maybe you can donate some of the suits to a place that gives clothes away for people that need work clothes.
Yes! Dress for Success
Great idea - or for those going for interviews
Super happy for you Jack! You deserve this for all your hard work.😊
Loved the clearing of this locker Jack, you will definitely make a profit from tbis one! Love these videos! Sending Blessings from this Scottish Locker Nut 😊 xx
Awesome cards from the military trunk!!!
The magnetic pockets are used for work orders such as truck repairs. It keeps them clean and readable and you can write on them with dry erase pens.
The long steel weapon as you called it I think is a knife sharpener. Butchers and chefs use them for knife sharpening. just saying. That's what it looks like to me.
The piece of jewelry that won’t bend is a Girl Scout pin. The character that looks like it’s dancing in the clover.
It's an old Brownie pin
I looked up the Edick metal thing & it looks like it's a sharpening steel device. Probably for swords, knives or other steel & metal items. I thought that's what is was but I had to look it up to be sure. I know other knife sharpening devices look like that so of course that's what I thought it was. Some have a very coarse looking sharpening area but that one looked very smooth in the video. It's probably to finish up the sharpening on swords, knives, etc. Kind of like sandpaper, you start out with the coarser paper & finish with the fiber one. IDK that's just my guess.
Very good locker & video. I really enjoyed watching it. 👍👍👍👍
Love watching you, your family & all your videos Jack. ❤❤❤❤❤
May God Bless you & ALL of your loved ones ALWAYS! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
That long pointy thing at the beginning with the wooden handle looks like a knife sharpener me Grampa had.
Jack I can’t believe you thought the knife sharpener was a weapon 😂😂😂😂. All the lockers you’ve done over the years where you’ve found kitchen items and you think a knife sharpener is a weapon 😂😂😂
1:25 I have to smile a little because this weapon is used to sharpen knives in private households and at the butcher.
The Melvin’s , I believe that is the limited Halloween edition. $70. Boris one could be the limited edition. Definitely look it up. If it is it sells for $140
U can tell he was a thief from the stethoscope to lockpicking tools .
The metal object with an oak handle is a honing steel! Sharpen your knives on it, Jack! 🤣
That taxes startled me also. I was glad you hadn't dropped your hand and taxed your leg! Lol! What a mess that could have been! And as if you haven't been told enough that was a knife sharpening steel! Lol! I sharpen pocket knives with mine also. Works for me! I really like this locker. With some elbow grease you will clean up! Like my reference!! Elbow grease, clean up! Lol! Take care.
Awesome finds Jack . You will do well on this locker :)
Thank you for your videos Jack. I really enjoy them because you share your find with us, it’s not just about the profit😊
18:11 no bro... throw that away. with gloves bro.
You are so honest posting it on the police site that is why God blesses you and your family
That’s a steel for sharpening knives. You were also wondering what Cummins is,it’s a company that’s well known for making Diesel engines/ motors. They also supply dodge motors for dodge trucks.
If real, the Ty Cobb Cracker Jack card could be worth $20,000 to $100,000, depending on grade. If a reprint, it would be more like $5 to $100.
A lot of times they would put a spray coating over Metal to keep it from tarnishing. Sometimes that will Start peeling.
Thank you, Jack, for taking the time to explain comic books and how the grading system works. Just out of curiosity, how much does it cost in America to have a comic book cleaned, pressed, and graded. Also, I am a big fan of your hard work and channel because I am actually blind and they way you describe items, I can make a connection, so I understand. I also have multiple Scerious, so my brain works differently to most. What I am trying to say is that you have helped me immensely to comprehend information, and I thank you so very much. Kindest regards Donna from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 😊
It depends on the age of the comic. Grading anything made after 1975 starts around $30, and cleaning and pressing at least another 20. Before 1975, the base price goes up, including a percentage of the fair market value. The rule of thumb is not to have it done unless the anticipated grade is at least $100 in value, or you're keeping it for sentimental value.
@@QuintI-uf5tmthanks so much for the explanation. I’ve been wondering how grading works myself. If I could ask for one more bit of information - there seem to be many companies that do grading. Are all of them considered equal, or are some more respected in the industry than others? If some are more respected, which would be the higher valued companies? I won’t ask lower valued for obvious reasons lol!
@@DebraJean196 The 4 most prominent companies right now are CGC, CBCS, EGS, and PGX. In my opinion, when it pertains to collectability , desirability, and resell value, CGC is the gold standard. It's what most collectors turn to and pay a premium for. CGC was the first on the scene to offer comic grading so they became the defacto standard.
Next would be CBCS, They have the same standards as CGC but offer 1 service CGC does not, signature verification. CGC will not verify a signature unless it is witnessed by a representative of theirs. CBCS is owned by Beckett media, a well known grading and authentication company, so they have the resources to verify signatures.
Next in line is EGS, a relative newcomer. I can't attest to their quality of service, but I haven't heard many complaints. They should be fine if you just want a book preserved and graded, but will fetch less than the previous 2 mentioned earlier resale wise.
Last would PGX. Diplomatically speaking; and without attracting any lawsuits; let's just say they don't have the most favorable reputation. Do your homework first; there are a few reviews on UA-cam, just lookup the term "PGX comic reviews".
tldr : in short CGC fetches at least 10-20% more than the others if you're looking to sell, use CBCS if you need to verify signatures, EGS for preservation and personal collection, and do your homework with PGX.
Dismisses the $200 laser level, coos over the $20 hatchet.
And yes, the long round thing is a steel, used to maintain an edge on a knife, as you well know.
Yeah. You got me. I gave up and responded. Hopefully it helps your engagement figures.
Thing from Germany is a SHARPENING STEEL....primarily used for putting the edge back on kitchen/butcher knives...If you give your kitchen knife about 10 strokes on each side before you use it, the knife will ALWAYS be super sharp when you use it....
That was a cool locker! It will be interesting if there is some $$$ cards! That speaker was worth the most!
Normally, Italy will not use 14K. They will market with a 585 or something like that.😊
woohoo, great way to spend the night preparing for a hurricane!! Hope the power stays on till the end. Still wanting to see the jewelry!
Stay safe.
@@lindaswanson9328Thanks, hope it's not as bad as Fiona!
That blue thingy is a pump to make ones 'hoo hoo" bigger...😂
thank you both for posting this video ..prayers have been answered jack you need to rest we can see you r exausted and im sure Jenna is too one day at a time best wishes to you all
the one piece of jewelry at time 55-6:54 is a Girl Scout pin. I don't know if they look the same as when I was in girlscouts but I was in Scouts in the early 60s and that was the pin we had.
That Joe Namath is worth grading, honestly so many of those cards are lol. Most likely will grade an 8 which is about $400-500 but if you can get a 9, quadruple that. Easily $2000+
Can’t believe the price on those rulers wow I enjoy watching your videos because of all the enthusiasm you show you really enjoy it. Thanks ❤😊keep doing what you love in life. God Bless you and your family 🙏❣️
this kind of collection you take to a pro that can give you the correct value of the cards.
That looks like a littman cardiac stethoscope if it is they can range brand new from around 100.00 to over 200.00 Canadian. Stethoscopes degrade over time though so it also depends on how old it is for what you could get for it.
Stay Healthy and California love wish you well ,Love locker nuts!!
Cummins builds engines....lol
Specializing in Diesels
Wow! That Traynor one is really pricey! Great locker!
What an absolutely fantastic locker. So happy for you. You work so hard so am glad you get payoffs like this one. The gems just.kept coming and coming, highlight after highlight and loads of different themes too.comics, clothes, jewellery etc etc etc When you brought that Trayner amp just thrown at the back amongst the last few bits, especially if Peter Frampton signed it? Fantastic find.n then that Grateful Dead tee shirt. OMG. She may not let you keep it 🤪 😳 Can’t go to bed yet, so intense lol it’s gone 1am but don’t want to miss anything lol. Thanks for the entertainment, am giddy for you.👏👏👍🏻👍🏻😍😍
i was not prepared to see crying Michael Jordan on Michael Jacksons dancing body LOL. amazing locker and that final bin did not disappoint!
26:30 Almost as though he was decorating it to live in it.
Boris is a Japanese Doom Metal band. They’re incredible.
That greatful dead tour shirt is like 600 to 1000 dollars... crazy find
That Jordan card ungraded is only worth like $3 but graded it goes up significantly if it's a 9/10
Jack are you trying to take away the title hardest working man in California!!!!😂😂😂lol
In jewelry portion- soldered looking item is a Girl Scout Brownie pin.
Great video Jack. I can't believe all the great stuff you found. Did you sell the comics in your Whatnot auction last night or are they for a future auction? Also, has your friend Kemo started looking at the cards yet?
Hey Jack, love your videos...much love from India 🇮🇳 ❤️
Can you please make a separate video of your comic book collection?
The edict is for when you are sharpening knives you use the steel after to remove burrs.
To remove burrs regularly, especially before finer sharpening with a wet stone.
The Edick is a steel for removing the burr from the edge of your knives....
The star wars #1 is a news stand variation,commands a premium 👏
Online,, the TUMI Wallets are like $130... nice!!!
Wowza!
Thankyou Lockernuts.
Montey's Den was a bar on the campus of SDSU in the 80's! I use to go every Thursday.
That greatful dead shirt, could be worth quite a bit if my google search is correct!
You need to get in touch with "Chase After the Right Price" for those sports cards.... he would probably love to have those.
He collects cards? I thought he was only into video games.
He is big time into cards....sports cards, pokemon, etc..@@LockerNuts
It is interesting to watch the progression of thieving style. Scooping packages, snagging luggage... I'm curious if he robbed a comic book shop.
That is a knife sharpener 😅Tumi is a very high end product!😂❤
Missing stones generally doesn’t cost a lot to replace!
The amp is worth bank... It is a great tube amp. You will have zero problem selling it.
Do you see those bent hangers ! Pulled in a hurry😮
Hey Jack,
FYI Cummins is a generator manufacturer. Mostly large commercial and industrial ones.
Enjoy visiting with your vids
As someone who has never worn a suit in his life, I'm just now realizing why they call it a suitcase!
57:02 is part of a Brownie or Girl Scout pin. Interesting locker. Thanks for sharing. God bless
Awesome find Jack. Congrats.
I loved this. Wayching you have so much fun and g we t so excited. You did nothave to explain to me that it was legal for you to purchase and sell that locker. Never in my life would i believe you guys would move on it without making sure. I can not believe the prces on some of those comics. Mind blowing. Wish I had some. Id sell them to you and you could all the crud and make a lot of money. LOL. I love you all.Stay safe and healthy.❤️😘💞💞💞💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️👶
That is from a Prince concert. Musicology Tour.
Tom Seneca is from Spokane and he actually won either a Daytona or a Indy race with nascar my cousin worked on his pit crew
What does it cost to get them graded and pressed? If you don’t mind me asking? I’m so interested in this. Thank you so much 😊
Depends on the value of the book. Starts at $35 for grading if I remember correctly, and higher books cost a percentage of their value. I'm not 100% sure on the details as I've never done it yet either, but I soon will.
