  • In this video, I return to my coverage of one of the most hardcore audiophiles I've met. I featured several of his previous rooms that included Aries Cerat Aurora Speakers, Dynaudio Evidence Masters, Tidal Sunray, JBL D2, JM Labs Grand Utopia and electronics from Aries Cerat, Audio Note, Esoteric and more.
    This video showcases his dedicated room built especially with certain dimensions and enhancements for sound as well as many after-the-fact treatments. It also includes the rare Estelon Extremes and Aries Cerat top-of-the-line electronics.
    It was a true treat to listen to one of the best audiophile dedicated rooms I've ever heard.

      @@AudiophileJunkie I agree to a point. It very well may sound great but REL triple stacks, with those speakers? I highly doubt that he’s getting the full potential in such a constrained environment.

      I have both a big room and small room. It's not about a subjective "best". It's more about taste.
      Being near field in a small room right on axis gives you unprecedented detail and window on the recording. It's hard to go back if those are things you value.
      A big room and sitting farther away can give you aspects of the room and sound staging elements that result from longer room reflections. This can be attractive to many as well. It can seem more realistic in terms of the reflections and reverb simulating a venue where you are sitting further back enjoying the performance.
      I'm lucky to have both and can see the virtue in them, but I frankly like the small room, near field presentation more often.
      Don't worry about visuals with the REL. I thought for sure it was going to be a disaster, but they are doing very little. It's overkill for sure and visually deceiving, but you'll hear in the music clips there are no issues with bass.

      @@AudiophileJunkie I’m set up in near field as well, so I understand exactly what your sayin. Perhaps I’m just visually overwhelmed by the grade and scale of this dudes gear. This is something I need to experience.

    • @AudiophileJunkie
      @AudiophileJunkie  2 роки тому

      Everything is relative. I'm sure people in third world countries would look at your house and things and be equally "entertained".
      When you add perspective and relativity... There are people who make far less yet spend an even greater % of their income on audio systems, fancy cars, etc.
      We tend to think that whatever's relative to us is what's relative to everyone else.

      @@AudiophileJunkie It's patently obvious that people in 1st world countries are living better than people in 3rd world countries. Even people in prison in the US live better than people in 3rd world countries, a fact to which I can personally attest. Re-runs of "Miami Vice" can certainly break the boredom of incarceration. I can give you the allegory of Bosch's "The Haywain" And yeah, staus is constantly being promoted to everybody in the US especially and that's why there are lots of BK's. Owning a BMW in Japan Is called "the BMW disease" referring to the outlandish cost of driving a 4-wheeled money pit

      Yeah... These videos are mostly for entertaining since the gear is out of most people's means.
      The good thing about the people I feature is that they aren't doing this to show off or brag. Most of them don't even participate in the videos. It's not purchases made for ego and show. All these systems get used a lot.

    The room is cozy maybe on the smaller side and provides inspiration to keeping my current room which I continually debate moving everything into a larger more Open room. I guess this is a standing room only room, or maybe you sit Indian style on the floor. Again not sure about the subwoofer stacks. Does this individual entertain DSP for this type of set up.? It would be interesting to know exactly how this type of room sounds different from other respectably furnished rooms albeit with lesser higher end gear. I gave up on the incito preamp mostly because of the back panel only power control and their recommendation to always leave the unit on. Otherwise I probably would've bought it, guess I'm superficial.

    • @AudiophileJunkie

      I'll have the music clips but you'll only get a taste of how it sounds live.
      It reminds me of my room where there is a super low noise floor and no excessive reverb.
      I was most surprised by the sub integration because it doesn't seem like it would work, but it did. The main reason is that the RELs aren't doing much... Just very little low end duty.

      Certainly the mini DSP products offer that with the speakers of your choice. HiFi Rose also has simple but high performance options for small systems.

    If you have ultra high end system, most of the times tweak accessories don't work.

    • @AudiophileJunkie
      @AudiophileJunkie  2 роки тому +2

      It's a good point. Great gear doesn't need help.
      Many would argue that some of these tweaks he's tried can't help any gear because they're snake oil. I might tend to agree on some, but if someone hears a difference - even if it's imagined - then it really doesn't matter. The end result is the same if they are happy.

    • @AudiophileJunkie

      You don't "need" it by a long shot. However, room physics may be helped by bass coming from another source/location such that peaks and dips are mitigated. Also, if you use a crossover, you can alleviate the demand on your amps and main channel.
      I agree though that is overkill, but that's the point of all these systems if you haven't noticed. These are all out assaults on performance over other priorities.

    I hate it when people do these types of videos where they only talk about and show there amazing gear without playing it and giving us a sample of how it sounds. Heck, I can see a million interesting high end audio systems on-line or anywhere else all day long.

    • @AudiophileJunkie

      You must not have paid attention and are new to the channel. I literally post more music clips than anyone in the audiophile industry. My entire show coverages I do for free because I include music and UA-cam takes all the revenues.
      As I mentioned many times on the channel, I have to separate the music clips from walk-thru videos because not only does UA-cam take the revenue... They will often block a video a year later when copyright agreements change. Thus, to avoid risking having everything blocked, I do walk-thrus in one video and release the music clips separately.
      I normally do both on the same day, but as I mentioned in previous videos, this house has a bunch of systems that I've covered so I'm going to put them all in one video to make it easier to compare the same songs on his multiple systems.
      You just need to have patience and catch up with all my other content. Ironically, I never get a complaint about not posting music... I get the opposite complaint that "you can't tell much from a video" if anything.

      It's ok...I don't censor it because it's mainly made out of inexperience with the channel as a whole.
