If they wanted to do this big nerf, they have to reverse some of the small nerfs from before. This would make more sense with the better dog and 7 point seekers
I think it would have been better to make 1 flash and more expensive, but that she would regenerate. But at the same time it is difficult to use more than 3 per game, banally because of the timer...so it's not really that terrible, but then they should have strengthened her wolf at least.
The point of Skye was that she is the most versatile character - she can blind, she can scout the territory, she can heal, she can show the location of the opponent...and she will stay that way, I'm sure pros will continue to pick her at pro level, she is too useful character, if not the most useful in the game.

tbh the regenerating flash was always bs even when i first started playing when i found out she was the only initiator that can do that but all the other nerfs to the flash are unnecessary

wdym "all the other nerfs" the only thing that got changed in the past year was the duration where u can control the bird, and now the flash popping no matter what
@@germytv thats his point. With all the other nerfs like her dog, flash duration, and now all this doesn't make sense. Why pile on all the nerfs? why would anyone pick her if shes the only agent without a rechargeable in her category?

So basically
The deal is that pros dont have time to prepare. So the team that can figure out a new comp and meta the quickest, is probably going to beat teams that are factually better than them, but have their old timings, old strats, old comps. Thats just bullshit. Plus no rechargeable flash means shes just dead, thats the thing that makes her good. The fact that she can give you info and flashes over the span of the entire round is what makes her viable. Now you have to sacrifice a controller for an extra initiator, which kills off the controllers, cuz Viper is too good. So we will probably see less viper more solo smokes or figure out a way to make gekko work in these comps, which is what I think will probably happen as it is the least amount of change a team can make to make the old double controller work. Skye being replaced with gekko in pro play. Which is not bad, but it keeps the meta relatively the same, which they couldve also done by making agents better, not killing an agent.
Tl/DR The nerf is unnecessary, what it achieved couldve also been achieved by smaller changes without killing an agent, plus its bullshit that it is so close to season start, especially for Tier 2, which is legit in 3 days.
Valorant in the future:
All agent utilities are useless
No through the smoke shot because total bullets in phantom and vandal are only 50
All ultimate that could damage enemies is nerfed 50%, all ultimate to search info is nerfed 2x shorter and 2x less range
All shotgun can't one shot no shield enemy in close range
OP kill full health enemy only if you get a headshot
All smokes are 2 times shorter
Half defuse doesn't exist

I agree that it's a huge nerf but also at the same time its a playable agent, its not like a chamber nerf, and also its a test for pros to see who can adjust to the meta fast
Probably would have been best to just lengthen the time to recharge even 5-10 seconds makes a huge difference.
Tbf she was being used in like every comp so now we can hopefully see different comps

This is stupid, they should nerf agents per act, not on a random time. This ruins the strats practiced in the pro scene, this makes Valo more on shoot and random bullshit go gameplay than it already is.
Tbh seems very balanced. No other initiator with 2 flashes has regeneration on it and the pop at the end of the flash is really good for info because the flash is really long. Sometimes it's hard to pop it exactly before it ends so that takes care of the issue. Yes you can't really fake flash anymore but it still has the longest travel distance among all initiators, you can control exactly where it goes and it gives info about blinded enemies. Seems like a good mix between gekko, kayo and breach

I think the change was warranted skye could be played on every map, as she gathers info and flashes your you as well, the timing is terrible though for the pros
Imagine starting playing val and choosing Skye as main enjoying the game then they nerfed it just so pros are less mad(still they use it tho) just made me sad
I feel like they could’ve make the dog the rechargeable and make the flash into just a normal flash but that just me and I’m a sova main so I have no idea what I’m yapping about
nah if u make dog rechargeable, she'd be meta defining. that dog gets too much info cos u can tell if someone's baiting, holding, get info on positions if u look at minimap (the dog's eye range is much bigger than u think), clear corners easily, u can even stall with the dog if u do good skye dog movement. It's too broken. That's like having a slightly weaker drone being able to recharge. I think the only change they should do is revert that specific change, to balance it cos this just kills an agent for no reason. She was in a good place.
@@timzy4395 I would disagree with you on this tbh skye dog over the year got hit with constant nerf after nerf that it just not what it used to durations is piss low health is somewhat good most of the unique mechanics like being able to stun even though it got broke when you lunge or the free cam when you lunge is also gone but then again I play her every 10 games at worst I’m just gonna lock gekko if sova isn’t a viable option

Imma say as a Skye main with 80% winrqte on her, the reason shes so good is her versatility not because any individual util is super powerful.
If anything i feel like they should unnerf everything they did to the flash and remove the recon aspect of it cause lowkey its kinda dumb being the only flash that does that
My Skye days are over imma just stick to playing Viper & KJ.

that's such an out of nowhere nerf, she's not that great and now she sucks. Regenerable flash has always been her biggest advantage as an initiator, her flash is not even that good compare to others and one of the easiest to dodge...

that's because Brim is a Controller, and before you tell me that other controllers have regen smokes and pros still make Brim work, that's entirely different in the sense that Skye is an initiator.
As an Initiator, you're expected to be the #1 support agent on the Attack side. The reason why they're given regen with their info-gathering util is to balance both attack and defense sides since defense is basically the more superior position than attack. Initiator util closes that gap tremendously. What they should have done was to increase skye flash cd or reduce it but only allow one flash instead of removing it altogether.
Brim is not an initiator, he also sucks on most maps

Feel like it shouldn’t be based off on how pros adapting to this. Like people forget that this is a free game for entertainment to begin with and they’re doing this to affect pros? Too much of this could cause the game to die
too much balancing is what is causing the game to die currently, no shot val has anywhere near as many players/viewers as it did even at the beginning of 2022 or 2023 even. Almost want them to do an OW and buff every character so each character is still balanced in comparison, but individually they'd feel really fresh and OP

@@germytv your queue times aren't everyone's queue times. And again, who is quitting? Valorant reach a new peak of 28 million a few months ago. So, hypothetically, let's say it's at 27 million active players now, is it dying? And, yeah, content gets stale during the off-season and on a game that doesn't give players complete control. Also, school started up in January and Colleges start up after MLK day, so, I think I have a smidge of an idea why your queue times might be slightly longer.
A good change for Skye flash would be:
Make the flash pop a bit slower (like how they do to Astra suck, there's added mini animation)
The flash while flying and once activated it will lock up on the air first then starts popping afterwards
Then they can bring back the recharge.

I think the deleting of the fake flash could be useful in certain situations like what if the enemy lets their guard down because they look away from the now used to be “fake flash” and then immediately get popped when they look back forward because of the timer, Lowkey seems like a buff to me but I can see it being a nerf in some ways.
They're cutting fake and aggressive possibility and make her weaker in game momentum because now you have to choose whether you gonna use all your flash to take control of choke point or hit site right away

I think Skye being the only initiator without a rechargeable signature is crazy. They should’ve just given her a rework. Like make her dog her signature and put it on a 45 second cool down for example.
