A drill I came up with recently that has helped me immensely with the overaim drill is just spawn the practice bots, focus one side, overaim a bot, recenter, repeat until that side is clear. Then I do the other side. I don't go faster than I'm able. Ever since I started doing this I've been hitting 20-24 with the medium bots.
I'm 38yo bronze, first fps, with little playtime (or I'd try for low elo Wednesday... I also understand my little playtime is why I don't improve super fast), but I pop silvers and sometimes golds.

I've found practice bots to be... well good practice. Didnt use them much at first but if you do exactly what you explained it really helps and is a good quick warmup. You can go at your own speed and ramp it up as you go.

Great job dude doing the overaim drill and getting 20-24 is really good. Continue the drill but also do bots normally no overaim drill and once you got scores that are similar ( for example 20 for overaim and 24 for normal aim) then you just start your ranked game and work on game sense. But ofc do the drills everyday ( or whenever you play)

Don't worry about it. Once Riot decides your rank, you will never go past it. Regardless of being top 2% in Kovaak or bottom 2%. The gun fights are rigged, as well as the matchmaking.
I am 36 and I have multiple top 1-2% kovaak scores tracking sticks but my Vandal bullets go through enemies. When my HS is 50% on Guardian and 33% on Vandal (50% higher) I can tell you there is a dynamic difficulty adjustment system at play. Rigged to the core.

when you take gunfights (in 15+ m range).......do you need to aim and then adjust it (if not on target) with your movement?...or you need to aim depending on which direction you are going to strafe in....or its the mixture of both.........i am confused because i just started playing valorant :(
