I have no idea why anyone would want this, it's just shiny bullshit made to make as much short-term gain as possible while willfully ignoring things that actually made Fortnite good. This game has only stayed farther from its original identity, Donald Mustard made a mistake by stepping down!
Perhaps but from a business standpoint, it makes a lot of sense. Unreal engine is a HUGE driver in the way they can update Fortnite and keep it fresh. Also, the same developers who work on BR won't be working on these other modes (like Lego for example). I think Disney makes a lot of sense here IF THEY DO IT RIGHT.
They've moved into the direction of being a platform. BR is king, but they still have creative (UGC), Lego, Racing, Music Festival, Save the World and now they'll have their own Disney Universe in partnership with Disney. This is how they grow and it makes sense for both sides imo.
My biggest question about this upcoming game is will you play as various Disney-Owned characters like Mickey Mouse, I don’t want non-Disney characters from Fortnite like Batman to be playable, Just Disney characters period.
Dude. Putting the characters into the skins is not making it become *Disney Infinity* It's just Epic making Money. The World they are making is not original or imaginative either; I get that Fortnite HAS the tools to build worlds and stuff but... Where is that for Disney Infinity's point of view? This just has no PURPOSE. It's just Skins and a New World. MOVE. ON.
The skins part, you're correct. But Disney's investment in 1.5 BILLION dollars will make this more than just a world. This will be like virtual Disneyland on steriods.
@@InfiniteerAdventures As much as it sounds like a really good and Happy thing... It's Fortnite. A game that I don't really care about nor have a proper opinion on. I tried it once and it felt empty. I didn't find anyone in a royale match for 30 minutes. The game did start and it said there were around 100 other people in a game with me, but never found anyone. So I just quit and uninstalled the game and never touched it again. It felt so LIFELESS when I played it. Also, this is straight up just another Server-Based Game. Meaning it will die eventually; and I dodge those games constantly and stick to games that have local play that way I can keep playing it for as much as I want.
@@zeroman0460 Fair enough, but remember, you're referring ot the BR mode. They've now expanded as a platform and have Fornite creative (UGC), Festival Mode (Guitar Hero), an entire Lego & Racing modes and so much more. This Disney project, while likely having crossover into those other modes, will be ITS OWN THING. So even if you're not a fan of Fort, this will be its own experience and I love that.
I don't have much hope for this, Fortnite previously had its own Toybox, a creative mode, where regardless of the platform, you could create your own mini games using Fortnite assets, but eventually, UEFN came out, a tool that although it made it easier for creators to create stuff, it also made the traditional creative obsolete, totally excluding the console creator community, and even worse, They started giving a financial incentive to map creators, which essentially sounds good, but it resulted in the community map screen being infested with cheap Tycoon maps to keep kids dumb down, or combat maps that copy The Pit map (which itself is a copy of a Minecraft game mode) with no interesting twists, all of these with miniatures saturated with garish colors and AI illustrations to attract the attention of children with nothing to do. As there are so many junk maps made for the sole purpose of profit, they end up overshadowing the maps made with love, it is like finding a needle in a haystack. That's why beyond the single-player experiences developed by themselves, I don't trust Epic Games to develop a Disney Infinity.
Fortnite already made magazines with spoilers for next season, item locations, and they even made trading cards. So Fortnite figurines is not a bad idea for a online only game that will come to a close one day. The joke about owning nothing from Fortnite may be a thing of the past
I don't think Disney would want to invest in figures being made again. They make much better revenue allowing for digital only purchases. But who knows. I have a feeling we'll be seeing both with this new Disney Universe. I'm quite intrigued.
Infiniteer... look I love you ! And dont want to sound rude... but I f*cking hate how so many people saying "this is Disney infinity", "DI Succesor", "This is basically Disney Infinity"...etc. 😭😭😭 cause 1. FORTNITE - Is predatory monetization PIECE OF SH*T, 2. Online only server game that profits from the Collaborations with other firms/IPs 😐 3.Gameplay wise It has nothing in common with Infinity (😭💔) its just Skins, objects, textures...etc. of Disney characters. Fortnite isnt and will never be even close to DISNEY INFINITY !!! 😭💔😭💔😭💔 The least disney should do is to "Remaster" (4K/60fps) the Gold Editions for PS5/XSX/Switch2 (with the missing content from 3.0 - Alice, Marvel Battlegrounds, Finding Dory) [+ the Moana playset should also be completed and added in, but thats too much to ask for from Disney 😑]
I ALWAYS love hearing opinions on here, even if people disagree. I'll try to respond: 1. Fortnite monetization has allowed it to grow, the entire industry has moved to post-launch monetization models because they're successful business models. 2. True, that is a negative thing about digital products, I hate how movies are lost if they're removed on streaming services these days. I still love buying DVD"s of my favorite films. However, Epic has 1.5B alone invested in them with Disney. That ensures Fortnite is NOT going anywhere for a long while. They'll continue to build for the next few decades... easily. 4. True, for now gameplay wise, it's nothing like Infinity, but that's why we have to hope they'll introduce new mechanics in their Universe experience. And lastly, I really hope they do remaster Infinity one day and bring us a PC port (Gold editions) where everything is digital. That all being said, I'm very much looking forward to what this Disney Universe can become...

They've moved into the direction of being a platform. BR is king, but they still have creative (UGC), Lego, Racing, Music Festival, Save the World and now they'll have their own Disney Universe in partnership with Disney. This is how they grow and it makes sense for both sides imo.
When x is used in that instance it's cross not times. Monsters Inc Cross Fortnite.
Never
My biggest question about this upcoming game is will you play as various Disney-Owned characters like Mickey Mouse, I don’t want non-Disney characters from Fortnite like Batman to be playable, Just Disney characters period.
They might lock every non Disney Fortnite skin and I can see them adding smaller characters in a seperate mode
That might be how the Disney Universe is. We'll have to wait and see.
@@InfiniteerAdventures Everyone has their Opinions. 👍Hope it's good for you!
Its a fake infinty compared
I think the Disney Universe can highlight UGC among many, many other things.
$1.5 billion is so much...
A waste of money
Not really to them atleast lego invested 2 billion into it so to the average person it seems like alot but to epic games its like 100 to 1000$
Which is why this will be the ultimate DIGITAL Disney experience. From a business standpoint, it makes a lot of sense.
They will make it back in revenue, easily in a virtual Disney experience.
I think Fortnite will be Cannon in Marvel and Star Wars and throughout Disney
That's actually a really unique and great thought! I could see them revealing or adding canonical stories through the Universe for sure.
