    Titanic gets such a bad reputation for being a technological blunder, when in fact, she was a marvel in her sinking. Even with the advancements in one hundred years, no other ship preformed that well while sinking. Costa Concordia lost power immediately and listed sharply. Titanic is one of the only Ships that did not capsize during the sinking and she held power for all but the last few moments. History really needs to dispense credit to her design because she really fought to stay afloat.

      I don’t think most people were aware of that island existing. You have to remember that it was pitch black out there. Either way, hind sight is 20-20. The ship never actually sunk, they could have sat on the ship and just waited.

    • @xxexexex
      @xxexexex 5 років тому +37

      They were instructed by the ship's crew that nothing was wrong, and told to return to their cabins, they were told that the ship was not sinking and all the safety crew just told them not to worry because the captain wouldn't admit what was happening

    The shore was only 60ft away. On average a utility pole can be 30ft - 60ft tall to put the distance into perspective. It's not like it was out in the middle of the ocean with no sign of land in sight for thousands and thousands of miles in frigid 28 degree water.

      its not that easy... yes its only 20 yard but the shore was not a beach it was a rocky shole big waves could slam you into the rocks or the current could pull you away from the shore plus there is a giant boat that could possibly roll over onto of you the life boat was a much safer option
