Kelly was a friend-of-a-friend, I had the chance to hang out with him a few times. really good guy he was going to Europe excited to play with some of those bands . When he got back he said Robert Plant told him Rock and Roll is dead. I'm happy to say Robert was wrong. There's not many people that will ever ever have the voice that Kelly did. he was amazing
What a singer. what a band. wore this record out in '94. and just learned today about Kelly's passing, only a few years ago. Sad. Guy was incredible. a drummer, also...i understand.
yup. he was a better-than-mediocre beat keeper. even carried on the task of entertaining a crowd from behind the kit... and we ALL know that above all else, he could sing. and crack jokes. don't forget the jokes. ;)
check out this tune that he recorded not too long before he passed. if i remember correctly, he did it with Rick Watson. ua-cam.com/video/Dm15zWQyTYA/v-deo.html
First of all R.I.P. Kelly. you had an outstanding voice. I had the distinct opportunity to see these guys at the famous Hammerjacks in Baltimore. (It no longer exists)\ They blew me away! Kelly's vocals and Audley's guitar was a wonderful combo. Robert is a great bass player and should never be underestimated. These guys should have been huge. The record industry always looks away from true talent and favors shit.
2:50 casually fixes mic and continues blasting those lyrics as a legend. RIP Kelly Holland. Cry of Love is one of the most underrated bands of all time.
I love this band they will ROCK ON FOREVER IN 2020!Burn down the sacred ground...Is my Mothers favorite! Every TIME I HEAR IT, I SEE HER BEAUTIFUL Face! Turn it up in 2020 and Rock out rock on!
What a great band and album. Freed shows his love for Hendrix. To bad he only played on 3 Crows studio tracks. The singer is fantastic. A cross between Roger's and Marriott. To bad he guit after the tour. .this band may of had a future.
Got to meet Audley a couple times... Once in a small bar in Upstate NY in the winter in a snows storm. He was w/ Mike Farris and Damon Johnson. He wasn't even on the bill. Second time was in NYC w/ Mike Farris and Johnny Neal And I don't remember who else. The first time they played as Peaceful Knievel. Watched em warm up w/ my Girlfriend. I was at the bar and a woman came in and ordered a shot next to me. She looked familiar... It was Joan Osborne and she got on stage w/ them later. It was the last nite the world trade center lights pointing up were on
+Blane Chandler "w/Mike Farris and Damon Johnson" You could say you saw a tone-deaf guy who didn't know anything about music w/Mike Farris and Damon Johnson and you'd still be talking about an awesome show. Adding Audley to that mix means you got a glimpse of heaven.
Yeah, I saw them when they toured with Plant in 94. Didn't know much about them before the show, but I became an instant fan and put all of my friends onto them. I will say this, the pairing of Freed and Holland was dynamic to say the least as they just killed it that night. I figured they were well on their way to bigger things, but unfortunately they turned into one of those "what ifs" that never came to fruition. It's a shame!

Audley combines modern techniques with a vintage sound and the result is just amazing !

The more I watch this guy, the more I know that this is where Chris Robinson got his vocal chops
Steve Marriot and Jeff Beck Group era Rod Stewart.
