Easily one of the most overlooked gems of my home state. Not that I'm complaining.. I’ve been curious to what specifically indigenous peoples were out in the Green Swamp. I know the Tocobaga disappeared sometime after the 16th century. Then during the Seminole Wars the Green Swamp provided the Seminoles refuge, as well as “perches of ambush” deep in the wilderness. I’ve wanted to learn more about Green Swamps native history. There’s Indian Mounds all over.
thank you for the inspiration , i live on the southern end of the green swamp and have done some field recordings of the area near my home . lovely sound of nature but still pick up a lot of man made sounds . hopefully someday soon i could go into the heart of the swamp to record and if you would like i would share with you....be well and peace to you.
I love the Green Swamp!
