This was the game of my childhood. I'm so excited to see it get remastered!
I got to play this game at a friend's house. I always thought Platypus was a game than an actual animal for a few years after.
I did really think the game was one of the coolest looking games on pc
Same. Before Phineas and Ferb whenever someone says Platypus the first thing that always comes to my mind is this game.
It's so good to finally see this series make a comeback.
I remember being quite surprised to miss Platypus 2, so I'm definitely not gonna miss this one!

Awesome :) I have some questions:
1. 0:13 - Will these ships fire or behave differently? Will there be a specific ship assigned to each difficulty level?
2. Will there be new game modes (e.g. survival) or just a traditional adventure with four levels?
3. Will the music from the main menu (the one with the orange background) return? And will the full music from the first and second boss fights return?
4. Will there be any changes to the gameplay? Will there be new enemies, weapons, power-ups? (e.g. it would be very nice to have a shield to protect me from attacks :))
1. they will behave slightly differently. The ship choice will be independent of game difficulty setting
2. I have planned some extras. How much we get to put in all depends on how much time we have
3. um, I think so. We have got the rights to use almost all of the original music
4. yes, as well as the option to play the old way. Again, how much depends on time
@@AnthonyFlack Please dont rush the game. Original Platypus is timeless, and if you could have put 3 or 4 more months of work into it, all of us gonna be happy for the coming 30-40 years! Many of us grew up with this, and many of us will play this til the day we grow old.
I don't wanna miss out on a mechanic, an upgrade, a gamemode or anything else just because we could have waited a little longer

when i first saw those ships in another video that showed all 3 ships. I had a dream that night that included choosing one of the 3 ships, and each had different stats.

large also died in 2 hits but was stonger.

This is amazing! I spent HOURS playing Platypus 1 and 2 during the COVID of 2020. I can't wait to see where this revamp goes!

You should add more mechanics to the ship. Maybe a boost button would be cool, plus shooting

the platypus seems to be the only shooter game that uses clay, so far that's how i remember it, and also is there an android version for this game? if so, i hope it doesn't have any unnecessary micro-transactions like the other games

Dude When is it coming out? it was my favorite game when i was younger i loved the clay and the music and then i always wanted to play the other side of the world but i never seen it

I think I remember someone from the dev of the original game saying that he wanted to fix the air mine algorithm in Mission 2, so that it would feel less unfair or something

i think the lo resolution camera kind of adds to the video instead of taking away from it, given that the game your developing is a remake of an old clay SHMUP game from the past.

What kind of clay is used here to make Platypus model? Is it just a normal clay usually used for children toy or is there a more sturdier and better clay to use for more serious sculpting? Im a long time fans of platypus myself so i would like to try making one some day.

Hey guys, i have a window 11, and i tried launching the platypus game, but it is not working. Do you have any idea how to fix this problem
Since Platypus is legacy software, compatibility is often hit or miss..
Try running it with dgVoodoo - Our players have had success using this tool 🙂
