One of the best scenes ever, he is so torn apart between his feelings for her and his responsibility for work. And the ending with her watching is brilliant
I totally agree I keep watching this show in my country Argentina even is 20 years past. This episody is like the center of everything. But recently discovered it . Amazing lesión of líder.
I love that CSI would end an episode on such a dark note. The show was procedrural and formulaic as all hell, but once in a while it would, on an emotional level, hit it out of the park like a baws. Every question anyone would have about Grissom is anawered in this scene, and it reverbarates perfectly througout every following episode.
I think it's very sad. When he says I could not do that (could not put another person first) I feel so bad for Sara. The look on Sara's face is so awful. I am just glad they do get together later. But it seemes to me that this is the first time either one of them think about being together at all.
No this was not. The episode for that OJ reference was Season 3. Right now, I can't remember the name of it, but it's one of my top 5 fav episodes of the series.

i think it's the best monologue of CSI.
so many years and i still remember it "Are you?"
Agreed. This ending has always stuck with me since first seeing it 16 years ago. Tremendous writing and acting.
I think the monologue was william petersens idea

One of the most powerful endings to an episode of this show - that final reveal of Sara watching packs such a punch
The first time I saw this episode, mind blowing ending, and so memorable.
Deep scene, great ending, the look of a defeated Grissom and Sara witnessing everything.

One of my favourite moments in CSI. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so!
“And now you have nothing”
“...I’m still here”
“Are you...?”
Oh my god, it sends chills up my spine! I love GSR!
I'm glad that I became a fan of this show.
the "are you?" at the end make it really special :)
OMG finally someone posted this! I love this part it's just so GSR angsty. Thank you so much for posting this!
I wonder if Sara told Grissom later that she heard what he said then...

Murderer goes free, but HEY we have romantic undertones to like!
End of S5, offscreen. Revealed at the end of S6. Married between S9 and S10.
SVU is good for these types of poignant monologue endings
Deep asf
Offscreen, end of S5 per CSI writers on Twitter.
Was this a play on the O.J situation?

Wanted to see Griss with Lady Heather. Never liked Sara. Worst ending to a series ever. Poorly done.
Who cares duh
