- This channel is a video that discusses the fascination of great apes (#gorilla、#chimpanzee、#orangutan) and enrichment.
Apes are the most intelligent animals and are therefore susceptible to mental illness.
Environmental enrichment is a measure to reduce mental and physical stress and lead a happy life from the standpoint of apes, not from the convenience and emotions of human beings. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Amazing baby footage!! Perfect angle to catch a little baby yawn
Her baby is so sweet and so dear she is a great mother linda
I am a retired healthcare worker for the United States Department of health
And I have visited and investigated several zoos with conditions like this all over America, and I have issued numerous citations and violations, until they were corrected or were shut down, if I lived in this country where these and this zoo were at I would not waste another second about shutting this zoo down for health violations😡👎
Thank you so much.🙏
@@GreatApesZoo you’re very welcome, I loved my job😊
Is this the same troop as the video on "Furt's" baby? If that was another troop they seemed to be very dangerous to the baby
Yes

Thank you. The video showing Furt's baby being carried by other members of the troop was scary. I was afraid the baby would get hurt or killed. Why is the group so harsh with the baby? Great videos thank you for doing this work
What a loving gentle mother . The baby is so tiny but safe tucked up in his mothers arms.💞💞

Really she was absolutely NOT safe in Furt's arms. This baby fell and died less than 3 months after it was born.
I later learned the fate of the baby. The whole thing is very sad .

ARE THESE CHIMPS SUFFERING FROM SKIN DISEASE ?
Probably not. The thing that suffering from is too much time on their hands to groom each other. In The wild they don't have as much time to groom because they need to forage for food and walking between food sources. This is common among captive Chimpanzees.

@@ML_SE I don't know, The Tama Zoo chimps live in large groups and overgroom and most have a full, healthy coat. I agree Ranvir, their coats don't exactly look healthy.

They do but for example Bonbon and Gin have extended hair loss and it looks like over grooming to me. It could be stress and alopecia also but we do know a lot of grooming (could be stress related) happens in captivity not only among Chimpanzees but among other primates too. Some zoos are better than others with coming up with foraging ideas for their primates. In semi wild and wild population of for example rhesus macaques where people feed them the same phenomena happens.

@@ML_SE Yes I have noticed that on BonBon for sure.

🥰✨
I'm sure she has the instinct to be a good mother, and she has successfully raised 4 babies from 6 pregnancies. The problem is she's 42 years old, far too old to safely reproduce. A 42 year old Chimpanzee in human years is about 75 years old. Furt was on birth control that somehow failed. If you look carefully at her and at the child you can see the baby was underweight and slow, she might have been considered "special needs" if she were human. You can see dozens of videos where Furt or another adult is carrying the baby, but the baby is making no effort to "clutch" to the hair of the adult. Every simian is born with the ability to strongly clutch onto the mothers fur with hands and feet. Chimp mothers have been seen getting into full-tilt brawls and climbing and swinging at full speed with all four of its limbs while its newborn hangs on for dear life. Furt's baby didn't. Furt probably was producing less than half of the normal amount of breast milk. The fact the baby made it to around 3 months is practically a miracle in itself. Very sad...
