Thank you so much to share this video with us.... My husband and I are going to take this cruise. We weren't sure what exactly to do in Juneau, but thanks to you we already know..... Thank you so much!!! In the same way, we will take your tips !!! You are so right!!! Eat, drink and enjoy the trip as well as possible!!! Greetings from NJ!!!!
Mary E . We went to Alaska in late June and spent 3 days in Denali, which was experiencing a heat wave . Temperatures were in the eighties. So add a couple of light weight, short sleeved outfits. Bring plenty of insect repellent. My husband took the day trip into Denali park. The transport they used was a school. bus, not air conditioned and covered with mosquitoes. He is a mosquito magnet and was badly bitten. Make sure you bring repellant, wear long sleeves and long pants. We used quite a bit of cortisone ointment that night. Just an aside ...... I stayed back at the lodge to look for his camera, which we had lost. It was an expensive camera and contained all the trip pictures. We never found it and that put a damper on the trip. Fast forward 4 weeks. We received a package with 10 dollars postage. Inside was the camera with a lovely anonymous note. We had our name on the camera. Thank you, whoever you are. So label cameras, binoculars etc. You never know.
So I moved to Juneau After falling in love with it On a cruise Then eventually move to the interior Near Fairbanks. To get there I had to take a 4 hour ferry ride To Haynes Then a 12 hour 330 mile drive Leave Alaska in to Canada Go back into Alaska Drive 100miles to Tok, a 100 miles to Delta, Then a 100 miles to Fairbanks
Hi! I'm interested in the tour of ice crave!! May I ask when you go there? As I'm going to Alaska in Aug, and concerning the ice crave is still available to get in. Cheers!
I see this was published in early September. We're going end of August 2018. 1) Mostly cold? Mostly warm? 2) NCL? or another. I'm thinking we don't get restaurants for free on NCL Pearl. We've been on several cruises and the restaurants are all seated by time slots and I believe NCL now has freestyle dining, no time slots so I'm thinking it's all buffet? 3) I heard on NCL (again, assuming since you went where we're going it was NCL maybe?) Pearl, there are no laundry rooms for us to do our own laundry? we can pay but that is expensive. that means packing a LOT more clothes? 4) Does anyone use the pools in the summer months? or is it too cold then also? 5) If I take your first excursion, which sounds like a lot of work but a lot of FUN :-) Is there another port that you recommend whale watching? The husby definitely wants to whale watch on this cruise at some point. hmmmm I think that's all of my questions Sorry to overwhelm :-)
Consider Princess Cruise line for Alaska sailings. Especially the ships that have the pools with a retractable roof so you can swim in them while in Alaska
I just came back from cruise on NCL Bliss and it was amazing. Same itinerary to Alaska and I have been on many cruises and this, by far, was my favorite cruise ever. Great food and great entertainment. We were so happy that we booked another NCL cruise in late January 2021 on the Bliss to Panama Canal. Alaska will forever be in my heart and I hope to go again soon.
Lydia Rueda hi there!!! My husband and I are going along with our 10 month old. Is there anything we should know ahead of time? We’re going at the end of August & I’m nervous!! We’re on the bliss as well
Inside cabin is still good. There is a tv channel in your room that is connected to an outdoor ship video camera so you get to see outside scenery still on a Princess Cruise.
Which cruise ship did you go on? I friend of mine went on an Alaska cruise and complained that he food in the main dining room was the same every day! We'd like to go on the ship you went on!! Thank you! :-)
Hey, I went on Princess Cruises and the food menu in the main dining hall was about 50% the same each day, good consistent dishes that people can eat if they don't want what is changed each day, and then the other 50% was different per day. I, along with all the people I went with, had no issues with the food and thought everythign was fantastic!
Hi, Thanks for the recommendations!!! Can you please share the company with whom you took the Ice Cave tour? Would you recommend them? Is it possible to book with them online? Thanks so much!
Hey! You're welcome for the recommendations! I'd be more than happy to share the info with you! The company was Liquid Alaska Tours. I would totally recommend it! It was very fun and my tour guide, I forget her full name but she told us to call her Z haha, was super awesome and really funny! You can check out the other reviews as well on trip adviser and I think you can book tours online as well on their site. Hope you're able to check it out!
One thing to AVOID as an excursion on an Alaskan cruise is LIARS VILLE. Yes that’s a real “spot” in Skagway that is offered by the Disney cruise line. It was boring, the snacks were aweful and the gift shop was ridiculously overpriced. Higher priced than any other gift shop on the whole tour. More than half our group just walked out of their lame “performance “.

And yes, it is free style dining. You can eat whenever and not have to dress formal which I greatly enjoyed.

What kind of room did you have... is it necessary to have a balcony or would inside cabin or?
The Power Of Healing you definitely want a balcony room for an Alaskan cruise!
Inside cabin is still good. There is a tv channel in your room that is connected to an outdoor ship video camera so you get to see outside scenery still on a Princess Cruise.
What cruise line did u take?
Is this cruise good for kids.

It was Princess Cruise line. The food is excellent on a Princess Cruise.
