I'm curious as to the difference in sound quality between these units and the CXN-2? I wasn't completely blown away by the CXN-2 if we are just talking SQ..although it has other features and looks which I believe warrants the price. The quality wasn't bad exactly but it definitely throws that British warm tone..and really narrowed the soundstage with my speakers in my listening environment. I felt the SQ of the $500 Ifi-Zen Stream is truly tops when it comes to "budget" streamers. But it has a plethora of connectivity issues and very slow response time to commands. Such a shame, cause it sounds very nice with it's ultra black background. I am definitely intrigued by Cambridge's new offerings and I'm sure I'll be trying one out..and hopefully keeping. The size of the player makes no difference to myself, but I definitely would understand why others may disagree with me. Pretty cool that Cambridge offers the 2 different sizes. Very cool.
The CXN will have a little more detail and of course all the features. But I would encourage you to check out MXN and AXN-very impressive for that price point.
I recently got a Bluesound Node (the latest 2022 version). If Cambridge released the AX/MXN10 just a couple of months sooner I’m sure I would have got one of those instead. The Node isn’t bad at all and works with pretty much everything you throw at it. However, I am curious: how does the sound compare to the new Cambridge?
Yep, the Node is great. Lots of love for that streamer too. As far as sound, I would say the Cambridge leans a bit on the warmer side. Both provide tons of detail and clarity, but the Cambridge comes off a little smoother in the highs. Thanks for watching.
@@ListenUp hanks. I realized after commenting that the AXNM10 doesn't have optical or coax input and I would need that for TV/streaming sound. Maybe I'll save up for a Chord Quest Dec and add that to the Node. Have you heard that? I LOVE the Mojo so would ideally love something like that.

I see potential for upgrading the AXN with a linear powersupply. Enough space left inside. Too bad it hasn't USB and I2S outputs.

You think these would stack up against the ifi Zen Stream? I find that unit hard to top for the price.
