- So what do you think? Is the Q5 Sportback worth it? I compare a Q5 45 S-line to a Q5 sportback and get into all of the nitty gritty details of the differences and exclusive options. I even brought a tape measure and measured the back seat leg and head room. We measured every angle in the trunk and outlined exactly how much and where you lose space in the trunk.

Great comparison, as always. I do want to point out one key advantage the traditional Q5 has over the sportback, however. That is the inclusion of roof rails and included crossbars for roof accessories. This may not be important for some, however for me, it allows me to have additional cargo room via use of the roof cargo carrier. In addition, I have two roof mounted bike racks that I interchange with when going biking. Again, this may not be important to some, but it does point out the additional fexability of the traditional Q5 over the sportback when it comes to utility.

Thank you! That is a very high starting price. I have no idea why that would be. Maybe that dealership is adding a lot of additional cost to the vehicle. The starting price I quoted was base MSRP plus the destination charge. That is the same for the entire country. We have a couple Q5s in stock. Being a big guy 6'2 & over 22stone....I am looking to transition from my Q2 sportback to a newer more spacious sportback esp so passengers can fit behind my driving seat position 🤭.... all whilst not paying over the odds 😭...would be good to see a Q2 Vs Q5 (sportbacks) comparison. If you've done one previously plz point me in the right direction. 👐

No. You still have to select the black optics package.

In the US market, we only get the regular Q5e, meaning it is the regular body style, NOT the sportback

Hey Emily, since you make some of the best Audi videos on UA-cam, I'll ask you... when are we getting the new Q5 in the US?
For a while it looked like it might be the 2024... have seen all sorts of renderings for the last year+, but it wasn't to be.
Assuming it will be new for 2025, when might we see what it's going to look like? When might they show up in dealerships? Thanks!

The renderings we were all seeing was actually the Q6 e-tron. Audi has not released any renderings or even tested spy Q5s yet. As that is our best seller they are keeping this one really really really secret. I was in Germany last spring and when we tried to ask any questions about it they shut us down harsh and quick.
Right now the secret rumblings are 2026. But unfortunately this is just a guess right now. I have been told the new Q5 is NOT on the list for 2025 and all 2025 models have been confirmed so far.

I’m buying the 2023 Q5 in Daytona Gray in Toronto, Canada. Pricing is so much higher here. Anyone buy any accessories? I added the trunk liner, the Audi rings lights when opening the doors and the loading sill protective mat. I also bought Audi Care and the extended warranty. Thinking about getting the Audi Care Appearance package too.

I just got a q5 non-sportback a week ago that has rhomboid aluminum inlays but they're brushed aluminum. The video of the sportback looks like it may be textured but could be the lighting. My q5 is a 55 premium plus phev with the sport plus package. I don't believe that this package is available for the 45 at all or 55 base model. Not entirely certain I have all that right but thought it was worth noting.
Great question! The Q5e 55 has the option for brushed aluminum inlays in the sport plus package you mentioned. It does not have the rhombus inlays. These are textured and 2 colors in between the rhombus. I can understand why they would get confusing! Thanks for watching and the feedback!
@@emilytheaudinerd It is indeed confusing sometimes. To anyone considering them though I recommend seeing them in person. I did not think I would like the aluminum based on the photos but they are very nice in person.
@@major7up it is hard to keep them strait. This is just comparing the Q5 model. It gets really hard when you add in A4 etc.
I also agree when you think of brushed aluminum I think a lap top or something. It didn’t automatically sound luxurious in my head. But they did a nice job and blend well. I’m glad you enjoy yours too!

Yes, the only differences are the standard seats and available inlays.
Not a fan of the sportback exterior looks, like the Q5 much better. I will be shopping for a new car near end of the year for wife she is considering the Q5, A4 and A5. The one thing all three have against them are the dash layouts, I just bought a new Q7 (black optic package sold me) and she loves that dash so not sure how her decision will go. I wish Audi could do better with the interior designs on these
On video the screen can be deceiving. When you adjust the seat properly the screen blends into the dashline. I do wonder if they will add the screen into the dash in the3 future
@@emilytheaudinerd I wish I could get on board with that thinking but I was given a A5 as a loaner recently and that screen did not seem to blend in to me at all. I felt the same with the Q5s and A4s that I've been sitting in. I will say though I am big fan of the Q5's recent exterior changes.

Roof rails come standard on the regular Q5. The Q5 sportback does not come with rails. If you want to attach roof racks to the top of the sportback you would need to use a speciality suction mounted one.
Are those 21” wheels on the Sportback? It seems that all of the 2023 Sportbacks come with 20” wheels.
When you option the black optics sport package, that is how you get the 21" wheels in this video

sportback Q5 exterior in the back its awful like a old man with spine problems so i go with Q5 normal better look
