Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr at their very best. I had the pleasure of working with Mitchum as an actor in Hollywood near the end of his career, and he was a joy to behold. Casual, genuine and a force of nature. He was not only a remarkable actor, but also a fine human being. They don't make actors like him anymore.
@Meister, Very true. Not the usual Mitchum performance. It shows how he can play a low key, sensitive type of character. Mitch is always a joy to watch. All best wishes.
I’m 77 years old and I have a brother in Utah who is 96 or 97 years old. He owns his own plane and still flies it himself. I live in Texas but when my granddaughter and I went up there to visit, he took her up in the plane and even let her fly it for a short time, just so she could feel how it felt. Many years ago he was in the Air Force and he’s been flying ever since then. ✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
This was my parents war. My father was in the Royal Navy. My mother worked on Spitfires commuting from Winchester to Southampton a mere 14 miles. The bombing of Southampton rendered the city unrecognizable from day to day my mother told me.My father was away for 2 years when my mom was pregnant with their first child, my older brother. She was relocated to a less dangerous place to have her baby. My brother was was a toddler when dad came home. I came along after the war but remember the bombed out areas and the ration books still being used when I was a little girl. This movie brought back memories of my wonderful parents, not that I don't think of them daily. I wept, this was a time when they were in their prime, just, starting their marriage. Thank you for this movie.
Celine, Thank you for your comment. Very well said. I had the pleasure of working with Mitchum on a film as an actor, near the end of his career and he was a joy to behold.. All best wishes.
This movie is a true jewel! Robert Mitchum was such a wonderful actor, always believable no matter the role. Deborah Kerr superb, as always. So many gifted actors in this period piece. The story itself ran the gamut of emotions, from joy to sadness to heart-warming. Well done!!
Agreed Nancy, agreed! I love Mitchum or Kerr in all they ever did. Deborah was one to see in "From Here to Eternity." Great actress with another truly finest, Burt Lancaster.
I've watched this film several times. Each time is like the first time I discovered it just by chance. Perfection.. Deborah and Robert the perfect couple.
I am 80 years old and a German. This people did not fight for their country alone. They fought as well for us and I thank them for helping my generation to grow up in freedom.
Hello Juergen, greetings from Ohio USA. I'm 75, so you and I are in the same generation. I calculate that your were born in 1940-1939, just a young boy when the war started. I'm happy you survived, and have had a good life. I've always admired the German people. Yes, Hitler was an evil man, but the circumstances of the Versaille Treaty put him in power. The World has learned a lesson from that. I grew up in a small town, filled with men who fought in that war, and you're right, in part it was for you and all decent people.
@@TheEriekayaker Yes, but, if you haven't noticed there is an increasing, along with everything else anti America that is going on, I was saying people are saying The Soviet Union alone fought the Nazis, Even a close relative of mine told me it is the stuff of Hollywood movie making, the Americans did nothing.

Great movie! Stimulating so many emotions and to see first class actors such as Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr makes this movie a grand classic! Congratulations to the producers and entire cast. Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recall seeing this great film for the first time back in the mid 80's. I have just watched it again and it moved me more than I expected. This is due, in my view, to now being an old soldier in his late 60's who can , now, far more accurately relate to this bunch of 60 plus brave airmen who have travelled back nostalgically to England and their youth to relive their hopes and fears and remember all those young comrades who never made it back from that terrible aeriel conflict that did so much to help shorten the war in Europe. Sadly, since this film was made and first shown we have lost most of the guys and gals of this " greatest generation" to the inexorable march of time, my Mother and Father included.....thank you, each and everyone of you for your service and sacrifice.........Terry
I remembered this movie and just recently saw it on youtube. It is one of my favorites. Both Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr had such a wonderful chemistry together and their movies were always great, especially the Sundowners. Also I have always had this THING😄 for Deborah Kerr. She was just such a classy beautiful woman.

This movie got me missing Dad. He was my hero and one of our U.S. heroes as well. Dad flew bombing missions over Germany. Shot down, never knew what happened to his gunner. His parachute got hung up in a tree when a troop of soldiers showed up at about the same moment he released himself from the chute. He was a POW for the last 3 mo. of the war. Survived a death march. Saw Patton roll in to proclaim the war over & they were free. He wasn't big on Patton as he did not think he was the best strategist and he was pompous. He respected Col. Sutherland. Dad was a consummate pilot. Never knew he was a star basketball player, at his little h.s. until, through complete happenstance, I met a woman who asked me if I knew him. It was apparent she had had a big crush on him. She said that while other boys had pin ups on their bedroom walls, he had pictures of planes on his. I didn't ask how she came to know what was on his bedroom walls. Probably totally innocent. Shortly after he retired after 21 yrs of service, he got a job flying a helicopter. in Guatemala (cold war). It was fortunate that in his day pilots didn't have to specialize. And, a son of a logger could grow up to become a pilot. Leaving out some other stuff and still overlong. 😂 God bless our patriots.

So pleased to have stumbled upon this lovely, memorial movie. I had never heard of it, but three of my favorite stars in it. Sucg a great support cast too, and I enjoyed the scenery around Cambridge. Just perfect.. Never too old.
I agree, a gem to bc stumble upon. Sonething about the atmosphere, the texture and pace - you mentioned thecscenes around Cambridge - that feels familiar yet belonging to a distant past. The rapid, reshaping forces of the past decades makes the 40s through 70s feel so different in film that it seems it could be a century ago that people spoke and moved through the world in this way. Thanks for the comment. - Aaron
Thank u, Robert Mitchum is my fave actor. Can't wait 2 watch all his films. My Dad was an American Pilot in WW2. He had many screaming war nightmares. He past in Dec. 2016 @ 93 yrs old. Two military men played taps & folded the flag. I have a saved message of him on my phone wishing me a Happy Birthday which I listen to a lot. I have his war green long rain coat, his brown leather vest & a tan cotton life preserver vest. Thank u all 4 making this movie! God Bless, Peace...Love, Pam
My dad was also in WWII. He ran away from home to join the Navy..they found out a year into the Pacific and swore he'd do it again so his parents ok'd him to join thr Army. He was in the Berlin Airlift. The greatest gerneration!
I loved this about as much as I did Heaven Knows Mr. Allison. The two had a genuine and deep friendship that lasted until he passed in 1997. Both, especially Deborah Kerr, were 2 of my fav actors.
It was excellent. A reminder of the importance of the people and humanity for saving this planet. We are now awakening to the lies and who is responsible for wars and everything else.
A Lovely emotional film as I am a war baby born in 1943 one of my uncles was in there Royal Air Force before during and after The Second World War served for 30 years in the Air Force
What a beautiful story and genuine acting by these two great stars. As if it is actually happening!thank you for for downloading this classical film just love it with all my heart. My two favourite film stars.simply precious!
Love this movie. I never saw it until a year ago here. If my memory serves me right Deborah Kerr and Robert Mitchum acted together in an old war movie called “ Heaven Knows Mr. Allison” as Kerr stranded on an island taken over by the Japanese and Mitchum as a Marine as well both come together hiding from the enemy in a cave. Love to see them together. ❤
Probably the greatest couple in movie history; "Heaven only knows mister Allison" and more. War is something that can never be glorified but the will of man to extricate a people from tyranny is limitless. We must also celebrate the bond men share in service to a higher calling.
Jan/2019- Just watched this movie again on TV. Struck home how many American service men were lost helping us and Europe fight for freedom. The slow camera pan of the cemetery is very moving. I realise many nations lost people during the war , but it never becomes a reality till you see the graves ! UK
My step dad survived his 35 missions & made it home. Think of how many crewmen became mince meat or m.i.a. in burning wreckage, never making it to a grave. Perhaps just lost to a cold, watery channel grave! 😢
Thank you so much for offering us this most memorable & beautiful movie 🦋 This love 💕 story is so very real, so sensitive and respectful 🧚♂️The acting is super STAR 🌟 level 🌸💐🌹
Love to see any film with this star couple!! They have such marvellous chemistry 😍 my favourite was “Heaven Knows Mr. Allison” . Makes me wonder if they ever had off screen affair??
@@GBR4MEI'm sitting here with my 86 yr old father in law. He was a gunner in the hot spot of a hurricane. He's been crying thru the whole movie. He hasn't reacted to anything since losing his beautiful wife of 58yrs 2 years ago. He is right with me, watching this movie and loving it.
@@iconbird And Heaven Knows Mr Allison & The Grass is Greener. Real chemisty. They both admitted in interviews that they were great friends & very fond of each other.
@@anairenemartinez165 I know it's just a movie, but I don't care for the Granddaughter very much, it's like she's taking all of her frustration out on him. She acts like he willingly abandoned her Grandma, when he didn't even know he had a family back there. Please let me know if I'm correct or completely wrong in my assessment
That church scene towards the end of this movie is shot in the Shere village in Surrey. This village has also been featured in another Hollywood movie called Holiday starring Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Cameron Diaz
Reunion at Farnborough is an awesome brilliant awes and stupendous film with her and chivalry acted by Deborah Kerr and Robert Mitchum to mention a few of WW two officers ! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍✅✅✅✅✅👏👏👏👏👏
ah Red Buttons, he was very active in films when I was young as a humorist, dancer and back up guy for the strong handsome stars. Robert Mitchum.. wowser. Had crushes on him. The scariest movie seen was him as a Preacher, he killed his wife, then trailed after his two kids to do the same cause they saw him do it. He would go along singing 'Leaning on the Everlasting Arm." ..all his other movies also. THANK YOU for posting this one I have not watched. Robert walks like a panther... yums.
Double yum! Did you see Cape Fear? He plays a real baddie... Still scares me to death even tho I've watched it several times. Be sure to order the original with Mitchum. The new remake isn't as creepy.
How nice - my Dad Was "Smitty the Flight Mechanic'" Army Air Corps WWII and later his hands made the gold foil on the Lunar Lander for DuPont / NASA. Such proud days and such love for America and peace and making good lives, from their experiences. He was stationed in UK and Morocco and Texas USA.
The greatest generation our country will ever know. For all those who laid down their lives upon the alter of freedom .no greater love than to give his life for his brother
My great grandfather Morgan Mitchum’s cousin Robert Mitchum. Movie I haven’t seen. Thanks for sharing the movie. My father was Army Air Corp and served in North Africa building airstrips for USA, Great Britain, and France.
My grandfather said the grounds as you had mentioned as well, he said Mitchum was an much better actor then he had proclaimed in his words Mitchum said….. “I have an greater respect for an man digging an trench than an person asking for an hand out”….. He Mitchum was an man of men…. ✅⌚️🎉. An good time piece for are generation…..👋🗣️💕💯🎉.
Good movie! And I liked Red Buttons, both the role he played and the way he performed it. Red’s still got it, hasn’t he?! Wow, he’s quick on his feet! All parts were played well. All of them. Facing up to real life isn’t for cowards … during a war - or after. Just being alive is a challenge - at any age … at every age. This film said that, and I agree.
WORDS OF REALITY AND WISDOM. OUR CHALLENGE IS ACCEPTANCE AND THANKFULNESS.. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, GREAT ACTORS HERE AND A STORYLINE THAT TOUCHES THE HEART.
A first class film, the acting was high class, even the little girl with the ball was very good,i loved the harvard T6 formating with the 2 hunters, everything thing about this film was top quality, even Harry OMahony driving his coach, the transformation of red buttons from a bum to a dapper and of course seeing BoB and Deborah together possibly for the last time just says it all.An important point i would like to make is that there was no foul language used.So hollywood youve proved you can make films without disgusting dialogue could this be a step back to when films were fit for children to watch thank you J.T
Mitchum has always been my favorite. I'm 82 and lost my father in the last Rhine crossing near Wesel. Visited his grave at Maargraten in the Netherland. It still hurts.
Reasons I liked this movie so much. 1. Great Cast: The movie features an all-star cast including Robert Mitchum, Deborah Kerr, and Red Buttons. 2. Heartfelt Storyline: The movie tells the story of two former lovers who reunite after many years and explore their feelings for one another. 3. Beautiful Setting: The movie is set in scenic Fairborough with stunning landscapes and architecture. 4. Historical Context: The movie is set in the aftermath of World War II and portrays the challenges of returning soldiers and the impact the war had on relationships. 5. Critically Acclaimed: The movie received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike for its sincere portrayal of love and loss. In summary, "Reunion at Fairborough" with Robert Mitchum is a must-watch movie with an impressive cast, a heartfelt storyline, a beautiful setting, historical context, and critical acclaim.
💕👍 nice..... born 45 in wiesbaden.... we kids , 5 or 6 ys of age, strolling through the city, saw gi‘s on trucks, throwing hersheys, popcorn, chewing-gums and comics to us.....for us, americans were angels, bringing gifts on trucks.... got my first comic: hopalong cassidy....🤣🤣🤣 still love the USA 🙋♀️🇩🇪 funny, how this works....
My dad was in the air force in WWII (Canadian, but still under the UK in WWII) and I remember something I read in one of the squadron documents when they spoke of these times; "They gave their todays, so we could have our tomorrows".
A great film that shows a reuniting of these two stars for the fourth time who better to act in it than Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr they were also in Heaven Knows Mr Allison, The Sundowners, andThe Grass Is Greener all very good films
My dad was a gilder pilot in World War II. He signed up the day after Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor. He has a brother who was a fighter pilot buried in the English Channel and another one that was with the navy.

Heartwarming story of beloved Veterans before the war and the struggle thereafter ... when the monuments/cemeteries were shown in honour of their sacrifice ... a great reminder on any day of something I do not take for granted, liberty.
Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr star in this touching American WW2 pilots reunion story. The reunion brings back old war memories. As they find and meet after 40 yrs those who they fought with, they learn more about each other and their effects while stationed in England.

@@indigogirl903 God Bless you. check out YT ralph smart talking about indigo ppl
I loved this about as much as I did Heaven Knows Mr. Allison. The two had a genuine and deep friendship that lasted until he passed in 1997. Both, especially Deborah Kerr, were 2 of my fav actors.
Numerous movies show what is sacrificed during a war. Watched this one for 4th, 2023. Glad I did. Much better than I expected it to be. Depth.
I was 11 years old when I first saw this movie on HBO. I've always been a history buff. I'm so happy to see this again.
Thank you, I love watching this movie. Really great actors, nothing like actors today. Robert Mitchum was always one of my favorite actors,.
Great movie, enjoyed seeing Kerr and Mitchum together again as older actors.
They were good in The Sundowners too
@@helenreidt3315 and in Heaven Knows Mr Allison
This movie touches my heart every time. I would like to have a grandfather like that.
It was excellent. A reminder of the importance of the people and humanity for saving this planet. We are now awakening to the lies and who is responsible for wars and everything else.
Just binged Winds of War and War And Remembrance with Rober Mitchum. My Suggestions popped this one up. Glad it did, loved it.
same here...lol..
Me too. A charming movie, in the true sense of that word.
Me, too!
God bless all that serves past and present. Thank you and GOD BLESS 🙏🙏🙏
My dad was in the 482nd BG”Pathfinders” stationed at Alcunbury RAF
Must have been a great pleasure to work with Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr. Two of the best. Deborah was Scottish!
Gosh what a beautiful movie, and breath taking charisma between Deborah and Robert . ❤❤❤
A delightful picture, thank you Gerry ! And how beautiful and elegant Deborah Kerr was !
She was gorgeous
@@sazzieb1 Indeed !
I loved it
Love to see any film with this star couple!! They have such marvellous chemistry 😍 my favourite was “Heaven Knows Mr. Allison” . Makes me wonder if they ever had off screen affair??
No they didnt, although Deborah Kerr was Mitchum's great playonic love.
Thank you very much for sharing this gem of film... Deborah and Robert are always amazing together...
A wonderful film.
I have Heaven knows on DVD, watched as a child and impressed me terribly.
The spitfire victory roll tears my heart out every time. Then the panning into the cemetery to show what REAL sacrifice is.
Yes, above ALL the Spitfire, the Hurricane the Lancaster, the Mosquito and the brave men who flew them.

First time I’ve seen this lovely movie! What a gem! 💎
so enjoyable wonderful seeing Robert Mitchum and Dborah Jwee
ROBERT MITCUM is an inexhaustable actor to watch and enjoy his dynamic personality.
So enjoyed the nostalgia--wonderful chemistry between Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr!
@@iconbird And Heaven Knows Mr Allison & The Grass is Greener. Real chemisty. They both admitted in interviews that they were great friends & very fond of each other.
Totally agree !
They seem a little rusty, maybe on purpose. The kid is flaky, one minute she hated him for being American
Again !! so wonderful !! Always love this film.I am 81 so alive !! in WW 2 xx
Wonderful film, I thank you very much for posting this. Such a brilliant cast of esteemed actors 💝💛🩷💝
That church scene towards the end of this movie is shot in the Shere village in Surrey. This village has also been featured in another Hollywood movie called Holiday starring Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Cameron Diaz
Reunion at Farnborough is an awesome brilliant awes
and stupendous film with her
and chivalry acted by Deborah Kerr and Robert Mitchum to mention a few of WW two officers !
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍✅✅✅✅✅👏👏👏👏👏
the title was"Reunion at Fairborough but i was at Greenham and Farnborough as a young engineer in 1962? your close enough?
@@henrywalker5746 "your" is incorrect, as it is the possesive, you should use "you are" in this instance,
I enjoyed this movie so much. I always enjoyed watching his movies from the 1950's onwards. .. Thank you again ..
Enjoyed it as well
just fantastic...i enjoyed watching a movie after a long time...thank you
I absolutely love movies with happy endings. So rare these days. And with people who actually know how to act without all the staging glitz.
Watched the pair again straight away after In yhe sundowners & heaven knows mr allison? time to try Tom Hanks in "The Bridge Of Spies?"
Amen sister!!
Memories, never die.. wonderful excellent movie
Once in a while you have good sensible movie that has some class.
I had this on VHS at one time and hadn't seen it since. My husband and I both really enjoyed it as it was kind of about WWII.
ah Red Buttons, he was very active in films when I was young as a humorist, dancer and back up guy for the strong handsome stars.
Thank you for this movie.
Amazing actions, actors, sound.
București, RO
Talented cast, led by Mitchum, Kerr, Buttons, Morse, etc. Great period reminisce & historical settings.
You are so right. Quality of acting, storyline and directing. Movies that portray the honesty of the human condition in grief and joy. Thank you.
How nice - my Dad Was "Smitty the Flight Mechanic'" Army Air Corps WWII and later his hands made the gold foil on the Lunar Lander for DuPont / NASA. Such proud days and such love for America and peace and making good lives, from their experiences. He was stationed in UK and Morocco and Texas USA.
bless him!
God bless him.
great watching these two old pros together again--
The greatest generation our country will ever know. For all those who laid down their lives upon the alter of freedom .no greater love than to give his life for his brother
You are right
Words of Jesus
My great grandfather Morgan Mitchum’s cousin Robert Mitchum. Movie I haven’t seen. Thanks for sharing the movie. My father was Army Air Corp and served in North Africa building airstrips for USA, Great Britain, and France.
What a beautiful movie. Deborah Kerr and Robert Mitchum are just beautiful people!
There is no one left who knows how to write a good script, direct or act.
Indeed it is.
He may have had "it" then, but this was very close to 40 years ago. Kerr & Mitchum are no longer with us
WORDS OF REALITY AND WISDOM. OUR CHALLENGE IS ACCEPTANCE AND THANKFULNESS.. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, GREAT ACTORS HERE AND A STORYLINE THAT TOUCHES THE HEART.
It is indeed a very touched movie; nothing but nature, real memory that will be there forever. Thanks Gerry.
Robert Mitchum was one of the greatest.

He truly was one of the greatest. A man of hard core steel and the heart of a lion. Same goes for Jim Garner and many others. True men!
Indeed he was! ❤
Loved it!....I watch it over and over when i need a lift...Thanks.....

My dad was in the air force in WWII (Canadian, but still under the UK in WWII) and I remember something I read in one of the squadron documents when they spoke of these times; "They gave their todays, so we could have our tomorrows".
Be proud of your dad!
God bless them all and may we NEVER forget what they did.
A great movie with characters so well portrayed and so well acted. A terribly moving story and still quite uptodate...
Great film. Glad it is on here. been looking for it everywhere. Great cast and story line.
enjoy!

Very good film, and well performed , a pleasure to vlew.
Heartwarming story of beloved Veterans before the war and the struggle thereafter ... when the monuments/cemeteries were shown in honour of their sacrifice ... a great reminder on any day of something I do not take for granted, liberty.
1947 Out of the Past. One of my favorite movies. Great movie.
The absolute best movie with Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr!!!!
Fabulous! I loved the BW films, God Bless The AAC and the RAF.
Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr star in this touching American WW2 pilots reunion story. The reunion brings back old war memories. As they find and meet after 40 yrs those who they fought with, they learn more about each other and their effects while stationed in England.
