That has got to be one of the absolute coolest engraving and anodizing jobs I've ever seen! The colors, the textures, the perfectionism... Even when it was just blue and "ice" it looked amazing!
I totally agree with the decision to keep remilling it until that line went away... Although small, it was quite eye-catching. Nice troubleshooting, Brad Southard!
(I don't know how many times I've forgotten to turn on the air... And, thank you for using and showing the ol' CRACE again!)

Man that line would drive me crazy, but is also unreal as it's a real life 3D illusion. Now that you know what caused it... I wonder if you could do some kinda 3D multi-pattern design that is revealed when moved. Probably too much mucking around. Stoked for you that you got to work it out.
    The final result is EPIC.

That just looks incredible!! I'm always amazed by how you can progressively engrave & color titanium to get different colours on the same part. I hate to say it, but cutting direction was the first thing that came to mind when I saw that line! I had exactly the same problem a while ago when machining a wavy Guilloche-style pattern - successive cuts went in different directions and it looked terrible. Made them all cut the same way and it was perfect.

Hi John... I find it amazing how you can machine a part...take it out and off the fixture only to put it back on the fixture to be machined again to take the smallest amount off to fix a problem. Your ability to relocate the part to re-machine the cross hatch pattern is incredible...how do you relocate so accurately?...Also do you dial in the 1/32 ball endmill to run concentric or just run it as installed in the holder/collet?... also what RPM do you run it at?

🤔 Y not add the air-assist wiping concept to the main window (so you can still see inside)? If not, find a way to mount the gopro near the spindle for closer view point.
If you dont have a requirement for color distinction in the viewing, try using a camera with the ir filter removed (or an actual ir camera like a trail cam) coolant changes how it looks under the ir spectrum (many liquids and emulsions look clear) that might help.

@JohnGrimsmo how come you don't make a bluing tray for heat anodizing? 🤔
it's just tray full of metal shavings that you heat from underneath and the metal shavings spreads the heat out evenly and slowly. check out the Clickspring channel, he's where I saw it.

Hi, I'm not sure what recording software you use, but I've noticed that it doesn't record the left side of the screen in Fusion (EDIT: like the tree). I have the same thing when I let OBS record Fusion as a program, but you can actually let it record everything by having it record the entire screen (I think it's called desktop or something... can't access it right now as my desk is under construction and the PC is in a box).
Great videos by the way, always love to learn from what Fusion can do, thanks for showing!

Also you spend hundreds of thousands on machines for finishes and perfection and still use fusion for engraving/visual work? Upgrade to Carveco or Vectric and REALLY see a dramatic increase in ease, and finish quality on your details. Fusion makes intense logo/detail work way to hard and manual. There’s virtually nothing in the software to make those things easy on the programmer.
