So, I think I've solved this rotten seed. At the start of Part 1 Vinny goes through his songs and misclicks Song of Healing in place of Sonata of Awakening, which I believe he got as a starting free check. This... Caused problems. With Sonata checked the tracker would direct him to Woodfall Temple -> Inside Woodfall is the Goron mask -> With the Goron he can take the lullaby he learned from the monke to the Baby Goron -> Baby Goron gives Epona song -> With Epona you enter Great Bay -> Great Bay has Fierce Deity -> With Deity in hand you can go for magic via Baby Zoras (Hookshot required) or use Epona again to enter Ikana Graveyard. -> Go to Majora -> Win

Gotta love how Vinny was so confident in saying he couldn't enter Woodfall Temple. That confidence was what singlehandedly turned this seed rotten for him
Since people have pointed out that this seed would've been decent for him if he remembered he had the Sonata of Awakening, another takeaway is that Vinny's so used to terrible seeds that he now has the power to putrefy seeds himself!
Edited because I wrote this near the start, but Vinny seemed confused later on (and in case melpert reads the comments): The objective of the game is to beat majora. Logic doesn't ensure you can get every item, it just ensures that you can complete the game objective. Because melpert started with oath to order, which lets him immediately complete the game objective, all other items were likely shuffled at random, because their placement doesn't truly softlock you, you can always reach the moon. The seed isn't rotten per se, its just that starting with oath to order basically means the seed doesn't need to conform to any progression logic, since oath to order already allows "progression" in the game sense. Basically, melpert created his own rotten seed.
I would have to double check the MM rando specifically, but some randomizers have different logic options depending on whether you just want the game to be completable, or if you want all items to be obtainable. Not sure if that option exists here or what option was chosen for this playthrough, but if you wanted to do the "Majora available from beginning but get items to power up" run, you'd need the latter option for the logic. All that said, the entire issue here isn't the seed or the logic, but a small and unfortunate tracker mistake in which Vinny forgot to mark that he had the Sonata of Awakening and could do Woodfall Temple from the start.

Honestly, the seed doesn't seem that bad to me. Early Deku + Zora without needing other items to get them is a great start. MM Rando is just a very dense experience with lots of checks that would be quite obscure to casual players. And the mechanic of having to reacquire trade items, etc. after every Song of Time makes it tough to play over multiple sessions without taking notes.
Vinny kinda did it to himself, he forgot he had sonata (which he started with) and he already started with oath. The logic considers the game already beatable so the placement of things is not exactly prioritized for progression.
It's hilarious to me both that the seed rot was caused by Vinny misclicking his tracker at the start of the game, and that he tried so hard and so long to do glitches like the bomb jump when he could've checked the spoiler log he made a point of generation and realized his mistake. This was a really long, really funny, partially sad session of self-imposed suffering. Thank you Melpert.
It's really sad cause it'd been a fun run to watch, I love Vinny's randos. It's just that now that everything is kinda fucked and there's been so much spoiler log looking and such just due to the simple mistake at the start it doesn't feel like he's playing a rando anymore. And I would assume he'd feel he got his MM fill from this sufferage, so I doubt he will do a second run anytime soon at all, which makes me particularly sad cause I love the way he appreciates the game as he plays. :(

Yeah, in the randomizer settings when you are setting it up, you have the option to CHOOSE whether you want the logic to count tricks/glitches (such as this bomb jump/skip thing) or not. I personally don't like using tricks like that because I prefer to solve it as a "puzzle", so I set the randomizer to "no tricks/glitches". As for THIS situation here, I think Vinny actually DID have Sonata of Awakening (which did grant access to Woodfall), but he didn't realize that, and THAT was what was causing issues for this particular run.
Soul Calibur 2 is one of those games I'm always nostalgic for. It would be cool to see Vinny play through the weapon master mode in that game. If chat was willing to sit there and watch him play a fighting game. Weapon master mode keeps the matches interesting with special rules and gets harder and harder though. If he plays the Gamecube version he can even play as Link.

The game considered road to southern swamp foolish, yet deku mask was there. since the end was open from the beginning nothing was considered in logic, so it was essentially a no logic seed. Also didn't help that he had song of healing checked instead of sonata and soaring the entire time
@ not necessarily, logic only ensures items required to beat the seed are obtainable, you can have major items be impossible by glitchless standards if they aren't needed to complete the seed
@@bawbehh yeah it depends on the setting. There's required items only or every location is doable. I dunno what the default is but I prefer to always play with all checks possible.
Veteran rando player here. A great tip is to take notes. A lot of shit you can skip if you get a hint that says an area is foolish. I think "path to swamp" was foolish for your seed which includes swamp archery. You can get into Goron Village to the shop (3 checks) as human by talking to the goron up top on day 1. Rando has an option for chests to look a certain way if the item is important. Gold chest = good, regular = junk You can also purposely "junk" checks you don't want to do in a seed such as the perfect score in the town archery or all 3 days deku playground. You can type in a search box to find them. Just be sure not to unrandomize these by mistake.

since the end was open from the beginning nothing was considered in logic, so it was essentially a no logic seed.
Also didn't help that he had song of healing checked instead of sonata and soaring the entire time
There's still logic to make sure every item is collectable but yeah nothing was way of the hero.
@ not necessarily, logic only ensures items required to beat the seed are obtainable, you can have major items be impossible by glitchless standards if they aren't needed to complete the seed

Veteran rando player here. A great tip is to take notes. A lot of shit you can skip if you get a hint that says an area is foolish. I think "path to swamp" was foolish for your seed which includes swamp archery.
You can get into Goron Village to the shop (3 checks) as human by talking to the goron up top on day 1.
Rando has an option for chests to look a certain way if the item is important. Gold chest = good, regular = junk
You can also purposely "junk" checks you don't want to do in a seed such as the perfect score in the town archery or all 3 days deku playground. You can type in a search box to find them. Just be sure not to unrandomize these by mistake.
