A+ to the wildman in the tractor. Give it Gordy, get the behemoth out. That was about as stuck as you can be. Considering it was rear wheel assist and took all that hopping and snapping to get it out. Deere makes some heavy duty hooks I guess to pull them out.
Pulling from the side makes no since. From the side your trying to pull the combines dead weight against the ground it's stuck in. The path of least resistance is pulling out the way in went in. He final figures that out.
Yes everyone saw that. But if your pulling it straight back into more swamp that makes even less sense. Combine operator could have turned the wheel. But that's farming . Communication isn't always the best and the outcome was ideal. Nothing broke.
Pulling a machine around in a circle is actually a better way because it will pivot around & the towing vehicle can travel a much longer distance and gain more speed, try it the next time you pull out a stuck machine, the mistake usually made is trying to pull in too high of a gear and not locking the diffs, another tip is to run the chain to the top link on the 3 point and make the chain short to allow more weight transfer to the towing tractor.
had a claas lexion (american black and gold) stuck about 4 feet in stickey clayish mud. got a jd 9400 and gave her a good jerk with 3 chains and she poped rigth out. them articulated monsters WILL pull texas into canada, given they were used properly.
I don't understand why big farmers don't buy at least one set of tracks for the multiple combines they own. They bolt on the the existing wheel hub and it would keep you from wasting time having to pull them out in low lands.
pulling from the side makes (in this case) the left hand wheel of the header pop out of the bog hole and then the tractor gives it a bit to get momentum to pull the wheels at a right angle to the rut, will work better than from directly behind everytime, ive seen some badass bogs and ill tell you... side ways is better. on a toatally different note, tell the tractor driver to put it in the lowest gear and just crawl away, will stop the bunny hopping.
Sweet video, loving the other combine working in the background

Pulling at an angle breaks the suction and pulls one wheel out at a time..
This is the verry strong power from John Deere I love It♥
Con un Zanello 500 la saca ramiando a la cosechadora
Now that is a tow strap !
Smooth move Toby
He is pulling from the side to break the suction from the mud making it easier to get out..

Ya it makes alot of since but you have to be careful so you dont break the chain or tow strap!
Lucky the combine...or tractor didn't break in half with that hop action!
If that tractor was a case ih it would have been out the first time
wow john deere power hops alot
because then you pull the rear end out of the rut and and get ontop of the dirt rather then dig in with the back end
I surprised that the back axle didn't come off
wtfMINNESOTA there is a hook on the frame ahead of the axle for pulling them out.

Straps are supposed to be snapped not pulled tight and then go, you did it right the last time.
@ thecattleman101
Actually that is one of the better ways to pull one out.
The idea of a towrope is to hit it not easy into it.. Could probly done that in two pulls if done right
the tractor is with out in water in the tires?
Gunane
i could bring my puma 165 and it would pull it out of there in 5 secs
que buena la eslinga
Quiero ver como le quedó la máquina, para mí la torció toda tirándola asi de costado con esa bestia 😂
Angle is actually better, basic physics and vectors.... Thats a whole lotta drawbar pull im amazed that strap handled it
that in ireland? cos hes pulling it sideways instead of straight back......

Why would you pull from the side ???? DUH...
Breaks the suction one wheel at a time.

john deere nice but not power
It had enough power it needed traction
