    Great build, I am impressed and think would try to make XYZ eventually when I'll be tired of my ender3

    Really great work. I'm getting ready to put linear rails on my hypercube evolution and this is a great starting point.

    I have an old Davinici xyz pro 1.0 3 in 1 that is a core xy design. Very slow from 2016, but enclosed and a likely project base? Really sturdy frame, but the software has it limited.
    You think a core xy rebuild is practical?
    Nice work! Spike

    I just wanted to add that I looked last night and TwoTrees is now selling an "upgraded" version of the Sapphire plus and the price went way up. I bought this one for $380 several months ago which I felt was a bargain. I don't know with the new pricing if this is a viable option vs say a Voron Trident 300x300. Just fyi.

      I like this. Looking forward to your links being posted. I'd like to make some modifications to my Sapphire Plus beyond the tool head. I started looking into some other CoreXY printers, but it felt like a waste since the frame on the Sapphire Plus is so rigid. A lot of promise here!

    This is awesome! I'm planning on building this in a Trident frame. Thank you for sharing!
    Any reason the height of the motor and idler mounts need to be adjusted at all? Wouldn't it be possible to calculate the height off the rail +carriage and add that as a shim to the parts?

    • @53Aries
      @53Aries  8 місяців тому +1

      Oh it could very easily be accounted for and built in, just requires the time to do it haha. It's on the to do list just haven't gotten there. I'm not really happy with the motor mounts so i am waiting until i figure out what to do there. Just need more hours in the day!

    About to start my DIY 3D Printer build.
    I've already build a laser cutter with a large cut area (500 x 500) using CoreXY. It works well and we're actually thinking of putting it on the market since it is so robust and compact.
    Long ago I used to offer bed heater kits for the DaVinci (Cheap brand sold on Amazon). I have full access to my own machine shop so probably will make the mounts and corners from aluminum.
    I"m thinking to use Clearpath servos instead of steppers.
    On the laser we were very happy with the CoreXY. How do you feel it works on the 3D printers since they have a larger load with all the machinery (weight) on the head?

    • @53Aries
      @53Aries  Місяць тому

      Corexy has its place. It just really depends. It's easier to go fast, and have a nice contained machine using corexy. But you can't beat the accuracy of cartesian and it's simplicity. It's much more work to get a corexy to be as accurate as cartesian. It's doable don't get me wrong, but things have to be just right. I would advise looking at the zerog mercuryone.1 if you're planning to build completely from scratch for inspiration. My design here has a lot of drawbacks made simply so it can be installed on the existing sapphire plus frame.

    Hello, I love that machine. I have two Sunlu S8s with a 300mm bed. I am very interested in updating them. What would you sell me? Thank you for that.

      Works great so far. There is some slight belt misalignment i need to resolve but it's very minimal. I've printed so much stuff on it, 270 hours total, 511 prints. It just works!

    If you can't post the links directly here on UA-cam, would you be able to post them on Printables or Thingiverse and share your name on the platform so we can look them up ourselves?

      @@53Aries thanks for the answer. What Pulleys did you use? The ones from the SP5 collide with the 3d Printed part. (12mm Diameter of the Bearing, 18mm max diameter of the flanges)

    • @53Aries
      @53Aries  9 місяців тому

      @itsame6217 i used Gates gt2 pulleys. They have an outer diameter of 15mm. It was a personal preference to use them as they are kinda expensive but since everything else is cheap i figured I'd get the best possible pulleys. Plus the 15mm outside makes packaging better. I've heard the mellow gt2 pulleys on aliexpress are good quality and slightly cheaper if that helps.
