It’s sad to drive thru the 192 now. Heartbreaking to see so many kids get into school buses from the motels. I remember when before the recession hit and before Disney built the more budget hotels how lively the 192 was.

I loooove the weirdness of central florida.. Back when I was little, I used to love seeing those crazy gift shop sculptures and murals just because I thought they were cool, but now that I'm older I just find them so incredibly absurd.. they're hard not to love. 192 is an eyesore but it'll always have a special place in my heart. Love from Melbourne Beach, FL

Vacationing here and living here feel like two different worlds. 192 was this fascinating, gimmick laden street of tourist traps - then after 13 years as a resident, you don't notice those things anymore. It's been a couple of years, I know, but thanks for this. Maybe I'll take a drive after work.

We have stayed at various hotels/resorts on 192 from 1996 until 2018 and have seen so many changes, with the economy falling and rising, hotels and stores getting new owners and names (Was the Market Place formerly Goodings?). Old Town is great, and we never miss Cruise Nite. Kissimmee is a good place to stay and visit many attractions, not just Disney, and your video of the roadside oddities has brought back happy memories.

MT is still very popular but Arabian Knights, King Henry's Feast, Splendid China, Wet and Wild, and a number of the older attractions have closed., There are 9 Medieval Times locations, 8 in different states and one in Toronto! 192 is oversaturated with too many generic tourist crap stores, with so many selling the exact same stuff few actually make any money. But when one closes up someone else buys it and tries the exact same thing that failed there. So the problem keeps perpetuating itself as the buildings fall further into disrepair, making it even less likely to work each time.

This is my old stopping grounds also Adam! This brings back memories. My dad lived in Kissimmee and I would visit him and my step mom every Summer. I loved the Magic shop at Old Town. We probably crossed paths Adam. :)

I remember staying at the notoriously bad Ramada hotel that was around this area. It was on my school's 8th grade band trip, where we got to go to Universal. They obviously chose that hotel because it was probably dirt cheap. I have distinct memories of riding through highway 192 on a charter bus, looking out my window, and being really weirded out by how strange and sketchy that area is now. Great video Adam, it's always really neat to see areas like these that i very vaguely remember.

Although it's been gone since around 2005, you should also mention *Xanadu: Home of the Future* and maybe show where it used to be and include some old footage of it. I never went there but I sure passed by it plenty of times over the decades until they finally tore it down. Hard to believe anybody really thought THAT was the future tech of homebuilding... lol

Our first visit to Disney was in 1995. We stayed on property but went in and out of Disney on 192. They're were more trees and wooded lots back then. Later development started but now it looks like a lot of it is now vacant. That area has changed a lot in 25 years. I have driven from the highway 27 intersection of 192 all the way to St. Cloud 's Walmart. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for this video. I have many many many memories of 192 in Kissimmee. My family and I have been going to our timeshare, on Safari Trail, since 1989. Been there every year till 2010. This is such a large nostalgia trip. I recognize many of these places. Lol at mile marker 12. I miss this place so much. Would love to go back.
