Need to vacuum and brush that damn thing 😂
That's daily. He was only talking about weekly.
@@scifigrl23lol! You right!
You also have to brush it 1-2 times a week, add algecide weekly, backwash your pump, skim everyday, the list goes on I don’t recommend a pool to people that are lazy or don’t have enough time. I’ve got a couple of friends that drain and fill their 24 foot by 54in pool a few times a month cause they’re too lazy to keep up with it they rather the water bill be expensive for the summer months then to up keep it for the summer
Don’t forget to brush it !
Yes, when shocking, better brush the pool while you are in to it..
Step 6. Use so many chlorine tabs that your stabilizer using through the roof. Step 7 drain your pool because stabilizer doesn’t lower any other way.
Hey buddy good video but I do have a question I have a hot tub and my manufacturer is telling me to add chemicals through the hot tub filter area but my question is on my Intex pool I add chemicals directly to the pool they say not to add chemicals through your filter system when you have an above ground pool I see you add chemicals directly to the water why is it that you add chemicals through the filter area and hot tubs but not pools just curious
Test strips very bad to use, as someone who lives in florida and does pools for a living strips are not the move
When I saw you using test strips instead of reagents, I stopped taking You seriously.
Taylor over strips. Cya and calcium test 1 a month plz
Don't put dry chemicals in the pool always dilute unless it states otherwise.
I have never understood why on YT people shock their pools weekly. I only shocked my pool when we bought our home and I have never had to do it again ever since. Pool stays sparkling clean all year round.
Salt water guys🤔🤷😔

Thanks dad
wrong way to shock the pool
Thanks so much my dad is having trouble with our pool this year thanks for the tip!
Do you check the skimmer with the motor running? This is my first year to try this
Yea it's okay to check the pool skimmer when the pump is on but DO NOT CHECK THE PUMPS INDIVIDUAL SKIMMER WHEN THE PUMP IS ON IF YOUR POOL IS ABOVE YOUR EQUIPMENT bc most pumps have skimmers u need to clean also
Btw your cya over 100. Drain 5 inch so you can fix that
Hows that chlorine lockout working for you?
Have a professional do the pool.
Check the water daily!
NEVER SHOCK YOUR POOL LIKE THIS
Mom always check the water, but I don't know why it's just snowing because the last time I was green check it out and it was green dark green. She checked the water.
That’s algae, you need to
Do a intensive cleaning routine for that.
Add algecide and scrub bottom and side walls run pump for 48 hours then vacuum to waste and then top off water that went to waste test water and add chlorine tabs. Don’t just keep shocking pool it won’t work if all your numbers are off
Duh
What if you're color blind
Are you running 2 filters in line ?
Any videos how to Winterize ur pool?
Good tips, but dont dip so long on the test strips
👍👍👍👍
Wait…. What kinda filter pump is that? Where you put chlorine tablets inside it like that? I have an above ground pool and I can’t seem to keep it clear. I kill all the algae and then it’s just cloudy and no matter how much I vacuum it, it still is cloudy
It's a chlorine chlorinator you can add to your pool for auto chlorination.
Use liquid stabilizer and granual cya.
I have a 16ft above ground pool, with a 1500 gph pump/filter (under $200). I am able to keep the water clean by running the pump/filter for around 4 hours a day and keeping a 3" chlorine tablet constantly floating around. I keep it covered when I'm not using it, and skim for a few minutes with a fine net before covering it. Granted, I only keep it set up for 3 months outta the year, but it never goes murky on me. I think covering it might be essential, at least in my situation.
Well - mine has been cloudy for 2 weeks.. ph is perfect.. high chlorine because I shocked it now I’ve used flock!
2 days..
Cloudy
I have brushed it every day, ran and changed filter-
Dead algae collected and vacuumed-
Cloudy still! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Try something like sparkle pool gel. It will make everything sink to the bottom
Do u sell these? Where
No, you would have to look up a Softub dealer in your area or order from their website.
Shock should be mixed-up in a 5 gallon bucket then added.
Wrong. Cal-Hypo shock can react with water and cause an explosion if you’re not careful. Always directly add to pool and never add water to the shock, or shock to a small quantity of water.
@Moe-vp5jr dude it doesn't matter
@@Moe-vp5jrcal hypo can create an explosion when reacting with a chemical like trichlor (chlorine tabs)
@@Moe-vp5jrand you don’t want to add cal hypo directly onto the surface it gets very hot and will burn through your liner eventually. Also cause surface scale on a plastered pool.
@@alexelliott264that’s not true either, it does not burn a hole in the liner, at all. If you read the package it says not to pre mix. And only causes issues if calcium hardness is off on a plaster pool surface. Pre mixing would literally change nothing in regards to a plaster pool. And the heat is literally 0 by the time it circulates and you have to consider the quantity of water involved too.
The weekly shock is with or without CYA?
Without
Personally I wouldn’t use shock with cya. If your pool is struggling to hold chlorine you should just add it yourself or allow it come up with the use of tablets that have cya as a delivery system. 👍🏻
What is CYA?
@@annettewarrick2883 Cya aka Cyanuric Acid, is what you need to make you’re chlorine last longer. You can either bring the Cya up with chlorine tablets or you can also use a chemical called stabilizer/conditioner. Definitely purchase test strips that tests everything including CYA. Careful not to overdue it.
@@annettewarrick2883 Rick Harrison is right. Cyanuric acid is what is called a stabilizer and it does what it sounds like it does it stabilizes the chlorine in the pool by basically acting as a sunscreen for your chlorine. You don’t want too much of it though because it can also make your chlorine not as effective or block it out entirely in something called chlorine lockout. Pretty interesting stuff if you have time to google it. I love pool chemistry, very cool stuff 😎
Wait .. is that where the chlorine pucks go??? In the pump??
Or in a floater on the surface of the pool but break down easier with a flow of water 👍
A floater is better. The pucks are not in things while dissolving while the filter isn't running beats on your equipment
Oh alright .. I was like omg I been doing it wrong !!! Lol 😂
No that's a chloritanor, it feeds chlorine to the pool.
Shocking your pool once a week would cause your cya levels to go up and you’ll have to replace your pool water sooner
