    How fascinating to see a serious Little Richard interview. What an interesting man. Whilst a big part of me wishes he hadn't turned his back on performing so that we could celebrate his talent by going to see him, I admire him more for sticking to his beliefs. A very brave man in so many ways.

      Every once and awhile we get a great one. Thanks to the interviewer, and it was super fun listening to Little Richard. I don't comment much on any video I watch, but about 4-5 months ago I commented, and it was about this very thing...the interviewer letting the interviewee speak and continue with her/his thought before going to the next question/comment.

      He had the Holy Spirit on him. He was extraordinary. He might have been on the autistic spectrum as well. He invented many things. He’s the musical Alan Turing. Religious people need to understand that God made him in a unique way and he shouldn’t be judged for things that are between him and God, like sins.

Europeans come across the ocean to see pioneers like Chuck Berry and Little Richard, we ignore them. Then when somebody dies everybody runs out and buys their stuff. Weird.

      It's a shame nobody knows who he is, even after all these years. You're complete right. He is amazing and very talented at what he does! He was the man who inspired Elvis Presley. He was the man who inspired The Beatles. And Michael Jackson. And James Brown. And Bob Seger. And SO MANY OTHERS. How his name is hardly heard these days is still unknown to me. Some people like Pat Boone owe their ENTIRE CAREER to Little Richard. Maybe it's this generation. Kids these days don't wanna listen to the "old stuff". That's pretty ignorant in my opinion, since I am 15 and I gave Little Richard a chance a long time ago. Anyways, yes, he's really got it all!

    • @littlejimmyscumbag2551
      @littlejimmyscumbag2551 8 років тому +1

      +Mr.Sickboy Pat Boone doesn't owe anything to Little Richard. Little Richard covered white artists like Elvis and Pat Boone as much as they covered him. Pat Boone's main success was his ballads like Moody River. As for Elvis, Elvis was inspired by a lot of people but I doubt he was inspired by Little Richard who gained notoriety in 1955. Elvis started in 1953. He did heavily influence James Brown though. People don't know Pat Boone either, or Chuck Berry or Jerry Lee Lewis or Carl Perkins. Elvis is the only one to come out the 50's a superstar. Some people know Johnny Cash as well but mostly because of his movie which became a surprise hit at the box office in the 2000's.

    • @littlejimmyscumbag2551
      @littlejimmyscumbag2551 8 років тому +4

      Tone It doesn't matter, Elvis started in 1954 before he knew who Little Richard was. Elvis covered his songs but Little Richard covered a lot of Elvis' songs as well. Covering songs was a way to fill up an album back then, everyone did covers to fill up their LP's. Elvis has never sang in Little Richard's style for anyone to say Richard's influenced Elvis.
      If covering someone means you owe them something than I guess Whitney Houston owes her entire career to Dolly Parton for the song I Will Always Love You.

    • @littlejimmyscumbag2551
      @littlejimmyscumbag2551 8 років тому +1

      Tone What did I say that was wrong? You being a musician with no name for 50 years does not qualify you to know more than me about these issues. Elvis started in 54. Little Richard covered a lot of Elvis songs, artists did covers frequently back then, Whitney Houston covered Dolly's song. Which part of these is wrong and how does you being a musician give you any credentials to know more than me on any of the FACTS that I stated.

    Little Richard is The Giant of rock music history. No matter how much he says about himself its still not enough. His importance cannot be overstated. I also notice that after he spoke about the horror of segregation, the interviewer then tried to put him right back in that box by asking about ''rap'' music. As if Richard was only qualified to speak about ''black'' music. Some things never change.

    Love this interview with Little Richard, I heard him in such a different light, he was soft-spoken and kind. He even was forgiving and kind to those who leaped off his back to succeed at his expense as well. I am so happy he did eventually receive what was due to him although he was the last being served in spite of the fact that he was the author of what others unduly received. America did not show equality to this man as all people of color, as a matter of fact, it's the fallen nature of man that wills it this way among all nations of the world. This man taught clearly as he entered his 70s the wisdom he garnered through his love of God and hard life.

      citizenclose Oh yes ? When was the last time you bought a cd from this undeniable once musical genius ? Since 1970 he's more known for his bibble babble,butt fucking and drug use. Despite that he remains a legend just for his 50s 'Specialty' catalogue; which after all started it all.

      Agree, Elvis loved black musicians, and he loved Gospel music. Many talented musicians, including British groups like The Animals, the Rolling Stones, The Beatles admired and followed Little Richard before they were famous. And met Little Richard when he was over there. Little Richard was a Giant of Rock n' Roll, You will be missed. We love you, RIP now.🎹🕊🙏💖

    Little Richard is one of the kindest musicians in this business, especially to the up and coming talent of this world. For someone who is so flamboyant and talented he is also humble before his Lord. This is why he is here when others are gone. God does not judge us on our shortcomings, the way we look or our ethnic backgrounds. He only judges us according to how much we love others and how much we are loved by others. Little Richard's career and life is a testimony of God's love for us all. Sometimes it takes a man like this to break the ice and the hatred that we experience in this world. He will be counted among the saints for his good deeds and his understanding of God's truth. None of us are perfect but we are all family in Christ. To Little Richard, God Bless.

    All the crap he lived through ( like others ) and he still loves this country is amazing and people today have more opportunity and still bitch , but L R is grounded and has faith to keep him going ... so much to learn from the creator of Rock and Roll .
