On the second day of the battle, Private Miller was shot between the eyes. Waking up behind enemy lines, he navigated his way back to safety despite his severe injuries. His story is a testament to human resilience and bravery.

The Battle of Chickamauga was the second bloodiest battle of the Civil War. On the second day of the battle, Private Jacob Miller was shot in the head near Brock Field.
When Miller regained consciousness, he discovered he was behind enemy lines. Determined not to be taken prisoner, he started walking off the battlefield.
Private Miller's amazing ordeal was written down for his family and brought to life through animations in this short history documentary. It is probably the most amazing story to come out of the Battle of Chickamauga and possibly the entire Civil War. Truly, it is an amazing piece of history.
