You can get the Dyson to wrap automatically, just like the Beachwaver, so you don't have to hold your arm awkwardly. Also, the Dyson really doesn't hold waves or curls done on dry hair. If your hair is dry, just dampen it with a spray bottle. I have both of these appliances (Airwrap and Beahwaver) and it takes a while to practice with the Dyson because it is a new kind of tool. You will get a lot faster with it after you practice more. I get it that you might not want to use the Dyson for whatever reason, and there is no reason to use a new tool if you don't want to. But I have to say, after practicing, I love the Airwrap with all of its tools. The "ringlet curls" fall out pretty fast, so they don't look like that even 20 minutes later -- they look like nice, loose curls with body.

Thank you for such an honest review on the Dyson... I own both the Supersonic and the Airwrap and I love both of them! The Airwrap does take some practice and there is a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it it takes less and less time... Since I’ve used the Airwrap, I’ve noticed indefinite improvement in the overall health of my hair... This has got to be my new HG atm... I got the complete and it’s so much fun playing around with all of the various attachments! Best of luck to you 💕💕

I feel like the dyson tutorials that come with it really helped me understand how to wrap it for beach waves or ringlets. The brushes are amazing. The curler (I prefer the thicker barrel that wasn't in your set). I definitely think the product is amazing and just takes training and practice and understanding of the technology (which requires some patience and had a learning curve for me)

For the beach wave test you’re only supposed to use Dyson on damp hair otherwise they won’t stay. It’s not supposed to be used on dry hair

Love the review, Angie. I do love the Dyson Airwrap - but it is a learning curve - each time I use it, the time is shorter and the results are better. I have rough dried it and used the curling technology but when curled I stretch it out as it cools and the curl is more of a wave. Like you I love that smoothing attachment - saves time and less hair damage. My hair is fine and wavy and I do have frizz but this attachment absolutely gets it steaming and smooth. Just love your honesty in all your reviews. 👍😘

This was a fantastic and fair review. I was on the verge of spending quite a lot of money for this product. For my hair length (medium short) I think I would have been incredibly disappointed. I love that you were so thorough with each attachment and compared with use of other less expensive options; one of which I already use and will continue to do so post your review. I love your channel as I am the same age. You are fair in your reviews of all products and thorough. Keep posting. You are much appreciated.

I’m glad I did not make a decision based off of this video. I bought one and I used it and I absolutely love it. I don’t know if this woman doesn’t know how to use it? But she makes it look awkward and ridiculous. I have quite long hair, and I bought the longer air wrap extensions and it works absolutely perfect on my hair. Thank God I watched other people’s videos that are reviewing this Dyson air wrap product. As for the weight- I have carpal tunnel, and I had a fusion in my neck and I have trouble holding heavy things. I have absolutely no problem holding this wand. I absolutely love mine and I’m glad I made the purchase, I have granddaughters and daughters that can also use it and benefit from it - so that’s why I decided to invest in it. Glad I did!! Very very happy with it!

So glad you did this review. I have long, coarse, curly hair and it takes 60 minutes to get it straight and smoothed at the salon. I hoped this tool would allow me to do it myself at home, but it looks like it will be quite a challenge. Keeping my fingers crossed that Dyson will keep at it and develop my dream tool. I love their hairdryer!

Great review! I purchased this product about 2 months ago, I also love the flat brush attachment. I have very thick naturally curly hair, using the dyson has saved me time with less damage to my hair! I too have fought with freeze forever but with the dyson flat brush I can get it to look like I just left the salon. I purchased mine from QVC and they offer you payment options for anyone that wants one but doesn’t or can’t spend 500 hundred all at once.

Thanks (again) for an honest, thoughtful, thorough review. I've seen many negative reviews, but mostly from those who didn't use it properly or only used it once, as well as gushing reviews from those who are clearly being paid to promote it. Glad you are the exception! I really like seeing how it works on wet and dry hair and with the different attachments, and how the styles last into 2nd day hair.
It seems strange that Dyson released a tool designed to create a style that most people don't wear. Princess ringlets are great for Prom night but not for grown-up everyday women trying to get out the door. If you're like me and usually wear your hair straight, there's really no point at all. Also I can't imagine that the curling really works for hair shorter than shoulder length, and styling very long hair would take forever.
By the way, your skin looks AH-MAY-ZING, makeup free in the bathroom lights.

Hi Angie, I wish I had come across your video just 5 hours earlier, because that 's just when I made the purchase of buying this complete Airwrap set! You're the only one on UA-cam who finds more cons than pros about this product. But I'm glad you like the smoothing brush, I think that's the only tool (and maybe the round one) I will use most often. I simply like to strengthen my hair straight after the blow dry. I feel the exact same way she does. I just got the Dyson Airwrap about a week ago. I also curl it on my damp hair, but the curls just don't last as good as my curling iron. I even use hairspray but it's still not as good. And my hair gets so FRIZZY! I've used anti frizz sprays and gels, nothing! I have about a week left to return it. I really wanted to love it, I still do. I'm going to keep practicing but this is so disappointing. My Revlon brush styler straightens and blow dries my hair very nicely and it only cost me about $50. I got the Airwrap because it can curl too. Not happy.

I love how you do very complete and fair testing. Even though I prefer my hair straight, I have a beachwaver which I think does a good job. I also have the John Frieda hot air brush, which seems to pull my hair too much. No way would I spend that money on the Dyson, but I greatly appreciate your presentation!

This was by far the best review I had seen on Dyson hair dryer. I have been thinking about getting one because my hair is frizzy and curly and I don't like it. For those who have good hair, this is too pricy but if it helps with volume and blow drying time and good straightening, I am interested in trying this blow dryer. Also, I cannot work with curling iron and I am so afraid to burn my hair. Thanks for the review. Xoxo...

Thank you Angie for this thorough and honest review. My question is did you keep and are you still using your dyson hair dryer? Or are you now using the wrap as your hair dryer?
I got the hair dryer for Christmas and really love it . Bought it based on your thoughts and review.

Angie, I have to pause the video: I am LAUGHING SO HARD at your "performance" during the first day, with the... swearing-whops, the burning, the deafening noise, Pee Wee and then... you playing Shirley Temple!!! I just cannot stop, I am having so much fun! I love your sense of humour!
I actually have short hair, so I don't need any Dyson or anything, but this video is so great! Thank you for... making my night! ♡♡♡

Thanks for a great, thorough, and amusing review! The Dyson is way over my price range - for that money it should walk my dog too! So, I just dropped the Instyler Airless in my Ulta cart, with a 20% discount code, and we'll see how that works.

I just found this video now so apologize for the late comment, but you had me giggling so much with this review so I have to thank you for that and your honest review. What I was surprised about was the fact that they advertise it as being better for your hair because of the air method of blowing, but it obviously got very hot as you demonstrated with your "ow, ow, ow" with the first tool you used. I have watched a few other videos with others saying the same thing. At least you are happy with the smoothing tool (think that's what you called it). I have the Revlon and have never gotten so much volume with anything else and since I got mine other companies have come out with their own, but until it quits I will stick with it. In fact Revlon has great customer service as it is guaranteed for 4 years and if it quits they will send you another for no charge and a free shipping label to return it. Thanks again I have watched so many of your videos and always love your honest and thorough reviews.

This is the best review I've seen.
There's a learning curve to the Dyson Airwrap, it seems. I wonder if the Dyson would work best in a hair salon situation, where a second person is doing the 'tricky' physical work, particularly at the back of the head?
I'm not interested in this gadget, but Dyson as a brand are so good. My husband and I purchased a Dyson vacuum cleaner, and it is the best vacuum cleaner out!
PS the kitty cameo was a major and unexpected highlight!

Hi Angie, I agree completely with your review. I had similar experience. I got this Dyson Air Wrap in December, and got really frustrated with it, in the end decided to keep it, because I really liked flat brush and how much time it cuts on hair drying. The styling and curling is another story... Even the fact that style does not last another day is very frustrating. Even if you styled hair with the flat brush, you wake up the next morning with your natural curl or otherwise lack of evidence that your hair were styled the day before. I personally think that it does not worth $500, but in the end I kept it.

Totally agree with this review. I LOVE the brush for the blowout, but the curling and round brush attachments just aren’t great. I love mine though. I’ll have to try curling on dry hair.

Thank you Angie for another amazing review. I have very similar hair at 50. I have the blow dryer, which cuts my dry time down by 50%, but I still need to lightly flat iron some days for frizz. Maybe I'll hold out until they come out with something with just the smoothing brush attachment.

I own the air wrap and 100% agree with your review! I also love the soft brush attachment - my hair is an inch or 2 shorter than yours, and very fine. I can literally get a decent blowout in 7 minutes. It sounds crazy, but I’m not good with a round brush and a traditional blow dryer, so it’s woth the $$ to me. One thing I do sometimes is, after my hair is dry, I’ll attach the 1.2 inch barrel, and, with my free hand, shield all except the last 2-3 inches of my hair, and use the barrel to get a bend on the ends.
    Thanks for the great review!

How does your hair hold the curls? I have sort of normal straight hair naturally but I find using the curler the curls only hold for 20minutes. I have tried using hair spray and the mousse but nothing holds it! all these reviews are saying how it holds your hair for days... but im lucky if it lasts 1 hour

I got one for Christmas, and to be honest, I did wonder if I would get any value out of it. However, I have used it every time I wash my hair since Christmas and I love it! The only tool I don't really use is the hairdryer which I find doesn't have the oomph of my existing dryer. I use all the brush tools and the barrels. You should use a heat protector on your hair. I use the cool shot when the heat is a bit much. I just flip the cool shot on to let it cool down for a moment. The curls do drop and look much less "Shirley Temple" after a while. I separate my hair into segments before I do the curls. It does take a bit of practice to get used to using it.
