  • Today, on day 6 of our barn house bathroom renovation, we took care of some prep details. I filled the shower's cement board seams with thinset tile mortar, I installed the drywall above the door, and we primed the wall panels and floor trim. Also, my Dewalt orbital sander broke on me, so I had to make a quick run to Harbor Freight to save the day!

Never fill the lime first. Always pour in the water, then so much lime, which is completely under water and then leave the whole marsh and then stir. Then you have a homogeneous mass without clumping ... sry for my Bad english ... hope you understand what i mean

Where are you from? I only ask because you have mentioned going to Menards, which I believe is only in the midwest, and the cliffs you drove by look like the north shore up in Minnesota.

Yep, I'm in Missouri. Menards came to our area within the last 8-9 years or so. I prefer it to Lowes & Home Depot (plus it's closer to me).

I like your work boots. I have a pair just like em.

I keep waiting for them to wear out, but they just keep putting in the work.

Applying mud is the one skill I cannot get right. Seems like it should be simple but nope

I really dislike it too. If I ever redo another entire house that needs lots of drywall work, I'll probably hire it out for quicker, better results.
