I got a stabby torgue assault rifle from MidgMong during my first playthough on Siren and I used it for almost 10 levels. It sits in my bank as a trophy now since it's locked in at lvl 10
Definitely the Hornet, I know its a pretty rare drop, but I got it on my first ever kill, on my first playthrough of Borderlands, and it carried me from lvl 2 to probs around lvl 20.
Also got it from the first time killing knuckle dragger. Such an easy farm and that gun can run you so far its crazy. Definitely surprised not to see it on this list. I thought it would be number 1 given its right at the start of the game and just destroys enemies.

The makers and producers of Borderlands 2- I tip my hat to you guys! Well done creative and brilliant! Addicted to it- I come back to this game every now and then for more of H-Jack’s funny humor. The characters are always funny and interesting! Why can’t we see this only in a Skyrim game from an open world standpoint. Keep the same characters see but as a total open world experience!
Here’s a couple I’d add to the list: Kerblaster: acquired from MidgeMong during the Symbiosis sidequest obtained from Sir Hammerlock, this is the second legendary in the entire game that one can collect after the Hornet from Knuckledagger. While its ammo consumption is fairly high, getting this gun will let you one or two-shot most normal enemies all the way up into the low teens - I personally used mine up until I rescued Roland in one playthrough. Flynt’s Tinderbox: A very good fire weapon for the early game, where DoT is INCREDIBLY effective. Pretty much guaranteed to drop from Captain Flynt and a second one can be obtained later on in Tundra Express, though the latter is admittedly not as useful by that stage of the game, especially compared to the Teapot you can get in the same area. Roksalt: A Bandit shotgun that trades damage for a higher fire rate, often ignored in later playthroughs, but in Normal and even True Vault Hunter mode (if you choose not to wait till after beating the story to do the sidequest), the damage decrease is negligible. Definitely a gun I recommend picking up for Krieg and Gaige players in particular. Teapot: As mentioned earlier, this gun is obtained in Tundra Express, and seems tailor-made to take out Wilhelm. You should be able to make use of this from your encounter with Wilhelm all the way up until you get back to Sanctuary from Overlook. That said, on later playthroughs, you’re better off grinding Knuckledragger for a Hornet. Torgue Slapper: If you manage to get your hands on one of these in the Southern Shelf, even a white one, you’ll pretty much one or two-shot every regular bandit you come across on the way to your fight with Captain Flynt, and even later on can be a pretty decent pistol early on when your ammo reserves are too low to justify sustained use of the Unkempt Harold. Emperor: Admittedly there are better SMGs in the late game, but early on, this weapon’s power is hard to deny. It drops from all four of the assassins in Southpaw Steam and Power, giving one four chances per run to obtain the weapon. This should hold out until one rescues Roland from the Bloodshots easily (and in one playthrough I used a level 9 one up until finishing up the Wildlife Exploitation Preserve because I just couldn’t find anything better for my Dahl allegiance run)
Thanks for the detailed response. I’ve played through with two characters at this point and am figuring out that the game gives you weapons etc. to make it through the next area of the game. Nearly all videos other than this one focus on endgame.
If you buy the handsome jack collection then you start out with one of the best grenades ever because it scales to your level the contraband sky rocket

I bought the handsome collections a couple months before bl3 release but couldn't resist playing 3. I'm starting bl2 today and so pumped because everybody constantly says 2 is the best. I'm spoiled with all the legendaries and stuff from 3 so I am very anxious to start 2. I only beat the original game one time waaayyyyy back about u t 1i year after the original release. God i love this series!!!
For normal and ++ playthroughs I just stairstep hitting the golden chest. If you save one killer weapon to share across different characters you have a solid stairstep all the way up with no farming required and face roll everything.
I'd also add the Hellfire, easily obtainable after you kill Scorch, very nice fire weapon for all classes, especially Maya. If I'm not mistaken, it's also great on Krieg due to his fire tree and can benefit from grenade damage with Axton.
My luck with Bol is crazy. i wanted a shock Fastball to complete my collection and it took 3 hours. In that single farm I got about 23 non shock fastballs.

A gun frequently slept on is the Thunderfist. Literally obtainable in the intro island and can carry you in normal mode for quite a while, until you go farming for an infinity or harold
If anyone doesn't know about this then I just want to tell you your probably gonna have to grind a LOT of money in the game but you can give moxxi a lot of tips and you can get 2 malawan smgs that are always prefixed in terms of element the first is corosive and the second is fire there also moxxi weapons but there is NO health Regen
I've been using it since I picked it up, and Just now at lvl 21 switched it out for a lvl 20 Green shield so basically it took me 11 levels to stop using it
Hyperion and tediore barrels on shotguns are single barrels. Double barrel is Jackobs, triple barrel is bandit and quadruple barrel is torgue. Just a little FYI.
The thing with the Flame of the Firehawk is: It´s gonna get you killed. Especially if you use it for hellborn Krieg. On paper, having a Nova that nearly constantly goes of harming anything in your close proximity sounds great but... barrels. If you are close enough to the barrle to blow it up with the flame of the firehawk then the barrel is close enough to you to blow *you* up and since your shield is depleted anyways(otherwise the barrel wouldn´t have blown up) it has a good chance to kill you. Especially if there´s no enemy around it just sucks to have a flame on and it is advised that you un-and reequipp it as soon as you aren´t in combat anymore.
they are a Moxxi weapon, so yes. just about 2% damage healing you, and they dont really do that much damage early game so they are not that great early on.
they're good damage, but comparing to all the others on the list, they are just too weak to be placed above any of the others. in either healing or damage. 2% of about 100 damage is only 2 healing per shot.
Dunno if you guys disagree, but i think hornet should be here in the list? getting that pistol at lvl 1-3 you can use it up to levels 10-15 because Works pretty well as far as i've tried at least
I was farming Scorch for the hellfire when I watched this. Scored probably the best Lascaux I could have gotten other than it being burst fire. Exploiting the glitch now for multiple spawns. Wish me luck

I got a flame of the firehawk that made me immune to fire damage as krieg but I basically let it carry me through most of the game by just walking at the enemy's and having infinite fire novas for like 5 minutes at a time
hornet from knuckle dragger can be quite good too, doesnt use 2 ammo per shot as any other elemental pistol you get on early time, and ammo tends to be quite low at game start
I believe one of the best farmable weapon is the one which Knuckledragger drops. It may have a low percentage drop rate, but with the right prefix, and some luck, it IS very good against the robots at Bloodshot Ramparts. But Unkempt Harold...... A league of his own.

I find the legendary weapon drop from the bullymong riding midget. It’s like a rocket projectile gun BUT it’s really accurate. Like a mini missile launcher and it shreds through the first 15 levels. Made captain flynt a piece of piss
Harold... On my only pistol gunzerker i used lvl8 harold untill warrior and then lvl 31 for the whole true vault huter. It is awsome! 2 guns, 2 playthroughs
On my gaige playthrough I got a double penetrating Harold and immediately went and tore through all the holiday DLCs and half of pirate cove. When I went back to the main game I was so overleveled I played the entire rest of the main story in less than 2 hours.(starting from when you save Roland from the bloodshots.) The Harold is SERIOUSLY overpowered. It's astounding that they haven't nerfed it over the years.
I would’ve personally put the law on here. An incredibly easy mission that rewards you with a gun with good damage sounds good to me. I’ve gotten it on all of my characters. Plus it’s got crazy good melee damage, making it especially good for zero/krieg.

Im a bit late but it was such a good video really helped me i use the unkempt harrold alot even tho im level 30 its a great gun and its alot of fun.

That pistol you get from tiny tina is quite good. Mine was a corrosive with x2 bullets per shot. I used it for about 5-6 levels.

I find the legendary weapon drop from the bullymong riding midget. It’s like a rocket projectile gun BUT it’s really accurate. Like a mini missile launcher and it shreds through the first 15 levels. Made captain flynt a piece of piss

Harold... On my only pistol gunzerker i used lvl8 harold untill warrior and then lvl 31 for the whole true vault huter. It is awsome! 2 guns, 2 playthroughs
Shade also gives a quest with a legendary up for grabs! It’s the mission where you must kill Hyperius the Invincible

On my gaige playthrough I got a double penetrating Harold and immediately went and tore through all the holiday DLCs and half of pirate cove.
When I went back to the main game I was so overleveled I played the entire rest of the main story in less than 2 hours.(starting from when you save Roland from the bloodshots.)
The Harold is SERIOUSLY overpowered. It's astounding that they haven't nerfed it over the years.

I would’ve personally put the law on here. An incredibly easy mission that rewards you with a gun with good damage sounds good to me. I’ve gotten it on all of my characters. Plus it’s got crazy good melee damage, making it especially good for zero/krieg.
On my first gaige play through, I got it and used it clear up to level 25 almost. The bonus melee is ridiculous

got an unkept harold double penetrating lvl 6 dmg 65x2 with a bee shield i am killing everything at lvl 30 in the dlc tiny tina's asault on dragon keep with ease

I had started my 1st playthrough of BL2 on PC a few weeks ago (coming from console) and on my 2nd time killing knuckledragger, I got a acid type hornet
