I am currently re-watching Enterprise and was on the fence on the XL ship as you were but now I am definitely going to pick this one up. I am loving Enterprise again, but alot of that has to do with the cast and not as much on the story lines.
Absolutely beautiful representation of the first Enterprise! I would love to collect all of the Enterprises in XL, that would be a dream Fleet to display!
I just impulse bought this from Master Replicas as it's currently in stock from their last drop. I previously bought the XL SNW Enterprise which I really love and think this will go great with. I also impulse bought the regular Centaur because it's only $12.
Recommend for at least the XL an improved stand (maybe magnets) so they don't fall as often. And for the smaller ones, the reverse magnets (where objects float) with a planet/star base or other object (Borg Cube) as the base, so the ships appear to be flying over the objects in orbit.
I wish the Refit still had the copper parts. Oh well, I still love that model and it is my second favorite piece of Trek merch I own. My favorite? My "Threshold" Mutated Tom Paris action figure with mutant spawn accessories! Yes, it is a real thing and I love it.
I've enjoyed watching a fair few of your Eaglemoss reviews Captain, but looks like they've upped their game with this one. Great lighting in the shelf views in your video too :)
i wonder how difficult it would to disassemble this model so that you can rig it with little LED lights to make the nacelles glow. along with maybe the bottom dome (wish they did something similar with the deflector in the front so that could be lit up as well)
Bow as in "bow and arrow" not a ship's bow.. the town that the Klingon crashed in was named by Native Americans, that's why it's Broken Bow (and arrow). ;)
Anyone else have the Franklin Mint NX-01? I bought one when Enterprise was in it's original run and honestly haven't found another NX-01 model that I feel like I need (though this one admittedly has more paint details).
CBS: Wouldn't it be nice if, under Robert April (before the NCC-1701) had served (as a young yeoman) aboard the NX-01 Refit before completing the original Enterprise 1701? That might be interesting. Or at least, if not him, his father or grandfather.
Roberto Hornedo April was born 2195, served aboard 1701 from 2245-50. The Enterprise refit was decommissioned in 2160 after the battle of Cheron. The vessel went to the Smithsonian institution. He did oversee the build of the 1701, so maybe he was an NX-01 fanboy.
In the fourth season Archer mentions how he argued with the engineers that he didn't want Enterprise to be a war ship. How he wished he had listened to them. (Episode where they return to Earth and he checks out the USS Columbia)
It was supposed to be an exploration ship, they didn't knew about any of the dangers of space travel (those damn vulcans keeping their mouths shut), that was a big story point, also watching them struggle with the lack or resources was one of the best things about the show.
@@HAGZ0483 I understand that it is a ship of exploration but that said that is no excuse, look at earths sea fairing history specifically the early days of exploration they went out in wooden sail ships not knowing what they would find but the ships where always well armed almost as much as a war ship, not because they wanted a fight but because they did not know what was out there, sea monsters? / pirates? / hostile country's etc
Hah! Yeah, Enterprise might of messed with canon a little bit. But it was next to nothing compared to the steaming heap Discovery has since mounted on the legacy and continuity of Star Trek!

My favourite StarShip, and era of Star Trek, restored my respect for Star Trek that had been fading during the Voyager days. Looks like a great model.

Agree about that collector's model is well done, and love that warp core light you got there.
I have the NX of polar lights in 1/350 Not assembled, I hope to build it as soon as possible.
The impulse engines are at the back of the struts,... The ones on the saucer are secondary.

Its Bow not Bow lol, like Bow&Arrow but were the nacelles always that high? I thought they were flat like Voyager when she's not at warp.
