I realized that my parents over the year have sacrificed a lot for me, now I’m going to try and return the favor. You helped me in deciding which tractor we needed for the property. I appreciate all the videos you make and keep chugging!
I totally agree with the statement :Always buy one size bigger than you think you need “ Made the mistake not to be knowledgeable. Now I’m looking to upgrade from a sub compact to a compact.
"Buy a Bigger Tractor than you think you need".... YES. FULLY AGREE. As no matter what you "intend"... you will always run into situations where you NEED a bigger or more powerful tractor. If you buy too small, that will happen daily...
I have a John Deere 1025R with several implements for my 5 acre property. I cleared land for garden, put in deer fencing, trenched and installed french drains, leveled land and installed a lawn, built trails through the woods, repaired gravel roads, moved 1/4 acre of wood debris for burning. Endless project in one year and put 430 hours on the machine. A larger machine would have been great for some of the jobs but would have been too big to maneuver for many of them on my forested land.
@@TDC_Dragon Hello! We have 31 acres, most of which is woods, brush, and rocks. We have a Kioti 20hp (model 1610? can't remember off the top of my head, and I don't want to go out and look at it) with the front loader and backhoe, and a few other implements. We bought it used after moving here, and its what we could afford at the time, as if you know anything about the Ozark Mountains... you know why we HAD to have a backhoe... you can't dig a hole with a shovel for nothing... heck if you could still buy dyno mite down at the hardware store...... anyway... Yeah, a small tractor Can get through woods Easier... but in many situations once we get back through the woods, the tractor isn't powerful enough to do the work we need. Whether its needing to dig, lift, or move large rocks. Sometimes it wasn't even strong enough to lift other stuff.... Digging up trees... small trees are fine, but larger trees I often just try to cut at or below grade and leave them as it just isn't worth the time, but in some locations this isn't an option. Like one instance, we needed to dig up two oak stumps, about 20 inch or so diameter. Which we deal with oak constantly as its mostly what we have here in Missouri, and oak often has some deep very tough roots. We litterally spent two or 3 weeks just trying to dig up just these 2 stumps.... I couldn't beleive how much time we had spent.... and they were out in the open in our yard... Finally was able to finish pulling them up with a heavy log chain hooked to a 2-1/2 ton Deuce & Half 6x6 military truck... and even it had a Hard Time!! Same thing when we have to dig up small boulders, many times the tractor wasn't strong enough to get them up out of the hole even after we have them dug out. We spent a lot of time trying to slowly "work them up" out of the hole, kind of dangerous too as you have to drop boards or blocks underneith them as you work them up. So yes, I do understand your point about taking a tractor through the woods... but when I get the finances to get a bigger tractor, I'll Make the Paths Wider :-)
Thanks Josh! My husband and I are working on purchasing our new home/farm/homestead. For the size of the property, this gives me a Really good idea on what we will likely need. Thanks so much for sharing!
I bought a Kubota B26-50 because it was the smallest tractor that didn't feel like a toy, like it could do real work, but it was not so big that it got into all the more complicated EPA stuff like the 33-50 you have. There have been a few times I wanted more power, but for the most part, I made the right decision. And totally agree on the loader and four wheel drive.
I could not agree more. Buy the bigger one you can get, get 4x4 and FEL this was my bare minimals when I bought my Agco Challenger MT275 Love this tractor
I am not commenting on the tractors but commenting on the beautiful black Buick GN. I know it is not farm equipment but please one day show your GN in detail in an up coming video. That is my favorite car of all time and the baddest of the mid 80's.
Purchased a 53 Golden Jubilee 600 series late march early may for $2500, I love it! Am building a racetrack on the back side of the farm, and it does everything I need it to do!
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer you should it's a fun work! I've put 17 hours on my tractor since I bought it, 16 and a half has been on the track work alone! Done much work before I bought the tractor too! Lol Have a good one bud!
Grand National in the background. I am thinking about getting a Kubota BX for my 2 acre property. Probably do not absolutely need it but a lot of trees, brush, etc. Loader would be great to have fun for snow plowing.
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Thank you for the reply. Not much snow in SE PA these days. Just for my driveway and neighbors. Believe it or not I have been mowing with an old Craftsman tractor for long enough. They have a bad rep but it held up for almost 15 years. I don't want to spend 3 hrs mowing anymore and want a toy - the resale on the Kubota's seems great.
That 5065 is the swiss army knife of the farm....Kubota the gentlmans farmer... the fergy go for the mow...backhoe can get down and dirty....great advice Josh
Haha, the right tractor was the one I could buy. I lined up to buy a tractor but due to Covid restrictions the dealer could not supply it. So we went to another dealer and told him what we wanted. He had a tractor a bit bigger than what we wanted and did a deal on it. We now own a strong Kubota MX5200 with a 4 in 1 front end loader. It’s not exactly a beast but it’s strong. The 4 in 1 loader is great. It’s won’t pick up stuff as easily as a grapple can but it can carry stuff and grade like a grapple can’t. It’s a Swiss Army knife of implements.
not that many videos here on UA-cam with such a great (personal) comparison with so many tractors. Really helpful. Thank you and greetings from Portugal.
I don't need a loader, cuz I dump a load every morning after breakfast, then I'm good all day.🙂🙂 I guess that's good advice about getting a bigger one. Especially since price doesn't seem to make all that big a difference. I would have thought a bigger one would have easily cost double. I've learned that if we shop we'll, getting second hand on long wear items, can really save some money. Like you said, not only on the purchase, but on the resale. Good sounding advice.
Great video, you could plow with Massey 240 too. My grandpa always said you need to have two tractors that will handle all your implements to get the work done.
My most valuable piece of equipment on my place has to be my bobcat I clear brush with it dig post holes the thing I like most about it is all the implements are quick attach it's just 2 locking pins that are hydraulic controlled you can change attachments in about 10 seconds
The best tractor to buy is one in every size range. Having a single tractor is like doing all your wrenching jobs with an adjustable wrench. I started out with a John Deere 990, 43 HP machine but soon realized that I needed something to lift heavy things so I bought a Case MW24 30,000 pound pay loader. Next, I needed something smaller to get into tight spaces so I bought a John Deere 1025R. I have a small 3-point-hitch backhoe direct from China that I use with my John Deere 990 but it is not strong enough to remove stumps and I am afraid of breaking is so this year my birthday present to myself was a Caterpillar 235, 50 ton excavator with an extended stick. Oh, I have almost 3 acres! I love my toys! Next year maybe the D8 to plow the snow out of my driveway with.
nah, he is just a nice dude making vids about what he loves, i think that those 4 tractors don't get to 70k dollars combined, so he isn't bragging at all...
Hey Josh stoney ridge farmer.... it's the implements that really dictate the size of tractors which you need... especially PTO horsepower. As long as one tractor has a loader the second tractor does not need a loader.. my Father ran for many years with a 4020 John deere a Massey Ferguson 285 with a quick attach loader and a 165 Massey Ferguson. He needed three during silo filling time

Your JD 310D can do some double duty on the farm. You can get a bale spike that attaches to the bucket so you can use it to move and load big bales. You can also get pallet forks that attach the same way and use it for a number of different things.
You can get by with a dirt or scoop pan. Although they wont do as much work as a loader, you can get by with it and not have to take out a loan to pay for it. In the beginning, I did a lot of work with a $4000 tractor. I still do to be honest. You dont have to buy a 30k tractor and finance it for 8 years just to get work done. An old Ford 2000 to 4000 will last forever and can be bought for $4-6000.
Very true...just depends on how much work you're getting done..and what you're doing...I prefer the piece of mind knowing that I've done all my maintenence right...and I'd rather utilize my time to the best of my ability...I hear ya on the loan thing...man our tractor will be paid for in about a year ....over $650 per month!! Wow!!! at 0% finance...still cost my butt! Hopefully we'll have our land paid for in about a year and no debt!!!!!
You are right, you can get by without it, but if you have the money, its worth getting, as you will almost get the money back when you sell it. The other few things that are nice to have and you can (almost) get your money back on is 4wd and a cab with A/C.
A few years back I found one of those "free-loaders" to keep around the house... I thought it was going to be a good idea until all my beer ended up missing and nothing was getting done! I eventually had to put it out on the curb!
Ron Miller I agree as well. As much as I want a back hoe or kubota type tractor, I think skid steers with tracks are the most useful out of any tractor.
Josh my New Holland TC 40DA tractor is hydrostatic and it has an electronic Cruze control on it so you don't have to steady mash the pedal. Good video!
This is good advice, especially about getting a little more tractor than you think you need. Also, the advice about renting for a day or two was spot on. I only have three acres and not a week goes by that I don't have a need for my 28HP compact with backhoe. For all else, I rent.
Love these videos. I only recently ran across your channel. My two cents and extremely limited knowledge on this subject is as follows. I own 8 acres in Iowa (hoping and praying that one of the farmers around me will let me buy 40+ from them). I have an all electric house and rather than pay twenty grand on a stand alone generator we decided to buy a PTO generator. Now the size of generator we need really limited how small we could go with our tractor purchase. So we ended up buying a John Deere 5055e. I am fully aware that the tractor is far too big for the property we have but it has just enough HP for our primary need.
Good video. I've got a barn full of tractors and equipment to work 68 acres with around 16 acres cleared and the rest in woods. here's the list: JD 450G dozer JD 350B crawler loader JD310 TLB JD 2350 with fel JD 1250 JD 2030 Ford 2910 NH TC 55 with fel Yanmar 2110 Ford F-700 dump truck Implement list it too long to list as it asundry list for ditching machines augers ,blades ... More equipment at another location so I didn't count it:this list is at the farm only. Of this list only the NH TC 55 was bought new. I bought so many units because (A) I got them cheap because they needed work and (B) I turn a very good wrench. When you need a backhoe you need the backhoe. If renting it usually is questionable in condition and availability could be an issue. Economics is a no brainer: I've used the equipment for major clearing and construction and very conservative figures put me tens of thousands ahead of paying for the work to be done. Additionally I've bought cheap, repaired and sold at least a dozen other units that have netted an amount that covered the total cost of the units I've retained. Land management /farming is a business and running it as such can net a profit or a loss: depends upon your goal.
That rule to buy too big goes out the window if you have to mow around growing trees. My 35 hp TAFE (65" wide) proved unusable by the third year of growth and I had to buy a pair of tractors other guys thought were too small for their needs. First was a Bolens G174 (38" wide) and then a Kubota B7510 (44" wide). Both are pretty great. The Kubota gets the bulk of the hours because of its belly mower and the 35 hp does mainly loader work. The Bolens is very good in the woodlot for light jobs as it can go anywhere a draft horse can. The additional benefit of the Bolens is that it can run a 7.5 KW generator at a very low rate of diesel consumption, about half that of the hydraulic Kubota.
I agree that the 4x4 and FEL are very important if you can afford it. We have a Kubota MX5200 that is 2wheel dr and has a FEL. There has been many times I needed 4x4 for traction. I have looked at that place in Newton as well, especially at their grapples. I think that is a really neat piece of equipment as well. Good Video Josh.
Kubota MX5200D, perfect compact tractor for doing some work. Need at least 2ton to do work more efficiently (I would say 4Ton is best start for cleaning up trees etc), and that leaves the smaller BX series a bit limited unless it is only for tiny jobs. I have 8.5acres and have to cut drive ways, drains and maintain them, clear trees and push earth. Even at 2Ton, still isn't enough to drag the trees out without sawing them up. 110% on the loader with 4 in 1. Best investment ever. Also doubles as a crane or forklift when you need one.
@@HooDRidEWhiteY You can't go wrong with Kubota. Basically the Toyota of the tractor world. The older stuff is super over-engineered, very very strong and lasts forever if maintained. I have an old 1979 M7500DT and it's an absolute tank!! The ground breaking pressure it has is awesome. 4Litre, 4cyl 82HP engine, reliable and powerful. 3.5Tonne in stock trim. Has a RM Nell loader on it that brings it up to 4.3Tonne. Just want to upgrade to a 4in1 bucket now. Very happy with it. I would be just as happy with the new MX5200D, but new tractors are not cheap!
Loaders are so amazingly handy. Just weld hooks to it and fab up some detachable forklift forks, and you're practically unstoppable. I won't ever own a tractor without a loader.
Great knowledge. I made the mistake of buying a vintage Ford 8n tractor. Great antique but ended up needing a new engine or rebuild, a bit out of my knowledge. I sold it for almost what I had in it. Now I am looking for a compact 4wd tractor with a loader. Thanks.
A few years back went to a John Deere dealer was interested in a 3000 series tractor with FEL. I asked this salesman if he knew about problems with leaking front 4 wheel drive axles and he didn't. But I had read about so many issues about leaking front ends an the fact he didn't know about them. He treated us like were stupid or whatever. Not much better treatment from Kubota dealer either. We ended up buying an LS tractor. Never had heard of them before, till we moved south. It's been a good tractor, no problems, they are all pretty much made oversea's. You might need a quick hitch for the tractors makes life a little easier. My small tractor has cruise control. and a few nice other fetchers as well
I definitely think you need a loader. I will always need a loader for pushing snow in the winter. I purchased an older Case backhoe for 7k when I moved up here but all I am doing is clearing up and thinning up my land. I have a ton of trees and under brush that needs to be cleaned up, that's why I bought a backhoe. I also have an old Ford 8N that need some work but is a strong tractor when is running good. Thanks for the insight on some other tractors, I will need another tractor after my land is cleared and I start working part of it. :)
I wish I had a dozer, it really would be better but I can't find one in my area that's cheap. And paying someone to transport a dozer isn't cheap either. I'm always looking around for one just in case it pops up though. :)
I think I would add availability on service , parts and implements for your tractor and budget! I have a 9n Ford w/ loader a IH 982 super w/tiller and snow blade . Here in Minnesota a diesel is not conducive to our climate and a gasoline is easier to maintain and easier to start in the extremely cold weather we have . All of your points are very valid! And talk about the different hitch systems !
Yep...man we could go on and on..there's so much out there to consider...snow removal...quick attach buckets...tons of stuff...I'll be touching on lots of this stuff over the next few weeks...putting out a series on tractor information
I've got 20 acres... A 29k lb wheel loader 65 horse 2wd 28 2wd I use that big pig of a loader most it's hard to beat the power. I've got serious wind and drifts and that loader sure it cats meow when the snow is 5 foot deep. The first one was the 65 horse when I wanted 30 to 35 best thing i did was go bigger.
We have tractors with forklift masts on the front and you can't beat that straight lift, we have a loader that is good for moving dirt but we also have a tractor with an under axle blade and love it it digs dirt faster than the loader and you can get in more places than the loader tractor
I inherited my dads 410 backhoe. Im never getting rid of it! It helps so much from planting trees to lugging hay to snow remval....next in my plans is a 40hp tractor. That 240 would rock a loader
Hi I bought a 2038R John Deere tractor it has The turbo diesel in it and I love it it’s four-wheel-drive I have a mid mountain mowing deck on it with a 59 inch snowblower on it for the winner it’s also four-wheel-drive great tractor
Thank you, Josh. I live in Uganda. Your videos are always inspiring to me. I am hoping and praying that my desire of acquiring a tractor will one day meet the miracle of a tractor. I can afford 3000 dollars, and so if your neighbours - neighbour can offer me he's 240 Mersey Ferguson I'll be grateful.
Remember the tractor and its fel does not mow fields, dig post holes, spray weeds, spread seed and fertilizer, rake ground ,till soil, bail hay, cultivate soil, furrow, slope and scarify a gravel drive but three point attachments do. If you want to do these things and you are just getting started keep the cost of these implements in mind. That massy will more than run any of those implements and will only cost about 8k leaving you the money to afford those implements.
Thanks so much fo making this video! My wife and I are currently looking into buying a bigger piece of land - 26 acres but currently own 5 of mostly wooded, so this was helpful, because I want something for my current property that can be also be utilized on the new property should be successful in getting it.
Good sensible information. Sometime even large farmers don't but thee adequate size tractor. You nerf the right tractor for the correct task. Josh you make a lot of common sense.
Do you need a TLB on a farm? Well, we do on our farm. We have a 1 km dirt road to maintain, have to level our 7 ha field that is messed up from rain. We have to dig channels to divert stormwater coming from the higher part of the farm to avoid the field to be messed up by the stormwater. Renting a TLB would have cost a fortune, we found a used CAT 416 C and it paid itself back. Also, I wanted one since I was 5. Paid it 180000 ZAR, something like 13000 dollar is suppose. Our tractor is a Ford 4600, main reason for this choice is the easy availability of Ford tractor spares in South Africa
Yep....in about 6 months you'll be itching for one....then about 2 years from now you'll start looking for your next tractor....and I'll bet ya get one with a loader...it's just so handy and if you're buying new or used...it's not that big of a markup
Great informative video Josh that could have been 2 hours long. A note mention: hydrolics remotes are almost a necessity. I've run industrial tractors my whole life and when I bought my farm I picked up a low hour Mahindra 4510 4 wheel drive with a cab. It's been the biggest piece of junk I've ever run. It's like a 68 VW Bug. If you don't work on it all the time and learn it's quirks uou can't get anything done.
LOL...stick around for more!! Wooo!! Man..you've seen the evolution of the SR farmer...from awkward newbie to where we are now...who knows what another 2 years brings!! Let's build a house!
It's obvious you did not grow up in the '50 thru the '60's or '70's. Our '49 Oliver 88 had a loader on it and it worked very well. It cleaned the barns, it pulled 3-14 plow, it run a hammer mill, it run a chopper, baler, cultivated crops etc. We still own that tractor and it is used. That tractor was a top of the line at the time. Live pto, full electric controlled hyd. with two remotes. The JD's and Farmal's of the time didn't have these items as standard or options We all were brought up differently and of a different age. Good video.
Thank you for this video. I need to come to your school to learn more about this. I am starting a 50 acres farm and was just looking for the type of used truck to buy. Thank you again
Looking to get a BX2680 here soon. Only have an acre, but lost of stuff that the lawn tractor can't do LOL. The BX is large enough to do some loader work, but small enough to fit in my barn, barn lot, and easy to keep stored out of the weather. I'll be getting a loader, roto-tiller, and box scraper with the initial tractor purchase....still on the fence about getting a mid-mount mower....my lawn tractor is only 3 years old, so it'll be fine for many years...but if I purchase the mower with the tractor new I save about $300 VS buying later if I decide that I want a mower....I may also pickup the front mount snow blower and front blade attachments at some point as well. The B-series is great, but for my needs a bit over-kill LOL....the BX is a great compromise between a lawn tractor and no tractor and for what I need it'll serve me extremely well for decades.
I work for a small municipal public works dept.. we have a job 5075e. Cab 4*4 all the whistles. 300 hours... That's it.. and I've walked back more than it's brought me back.. when it's running .. it's awesome.. but at least half the time it's broke down.. right now it's in the shop getting injectors.. 4300 bucks... Ac only works on high.. never been real cold.. hit a bump the other day and half the vents stopped working.. won't stay in four-wheel drive. Still smells like anew car .... Get a Massey
just bought a Massey 240 with a cab this week .. 1600 hours .. all so have a 135 UK with a loader,, farmall 100 and a Allis B .. can wait to try the 240 Massey out

I actually have one of those Masseys. Only 30 acres of pasture the horses run on. Mind you it's not as pretty and well, if you have one you know. But I hog with it and no, I don't need anything more.
Josh, food for thought. When servicing these tractors don't overlook the lube points on the front axles. Replacing the front frog is not a fun job on any of these you own. I'm meaning the center pivot's on all of them.
ANTHER AWSOME vid JOSH!!!!Super informative to someone wanting to start a farm or at least a small one for some of us!!!!
I sure hope the lessons I've learned will help others make a good decision...not the bible on tractors...but good food for thought...When I went into the dealer I had no idea what I was looking at...now I've got the knowledge

Nice looking Grand National back there.
Am building a racetrack on the back side of the farm, and it does everything I need it to do!
bhahhahha....we've been thinking about building a course on the back side of our place too!
I'll tell ya this...go bigger than a BX if you're pushing snow
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Thank you for the reply. Not much snow in SE PA these days. Just for my driveway and neighbors. Believe it or not I have been mowing with an old Craftsman tractor for long enough. They have a bad rep but it held up for almost 15 years. I don't want to spend 3 hrs mowing anymore and want a toy - the resale on the Kubota's seems great.
That 5065 is the swiss army knife of the farm....Kubota the gentlmans farmer... the fergy go for the mow...backhoe can get down and dirty....great advice Josh
Straight up talk, no bs. Thanks for the info.
It’s a Swiss Army knife of implements.
love the grand national on the back
not that many videos here on UA-cam with such a great (personal) comparison with so many tractors. Really helpful.
Thank you and greetings from Portugal.
Thanks Vitor
Outstanding advice. As a forner tractor owner, I understand your point all to well.
I have a 35 hp farmtrac and I really need a bigger one with a loader. You are right on point
Buying a tractor for us recently went... must have in order.... 100hp+, cab w/ heat& AC, 4wd, loader. Worked most everyday we’ve owned it so far.
I don't need a loader, cuz I dump a load every morning after breakfast, then I'm good all day.🙂🙂
I guess that's good advice about getting a bigger one. Especially since price doesn't seem to make all that big a difference. I would have thought a bigger one would have easily cost double.
I've learned that if we shop we'll, getting second hand on long wear items, can really save some money. Like you said, not only on the purchase, but on the resale.
Good sounding advice.
lol
A tractor with 4wd and a loader is a good choice !!
We have a few acres, not a farm. I purchased a Kioti 3510. It is great little work horse. In a year and a half, I have put over 300 hrs on it.
Well we all learned something today. You have money!!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Well from one Josh to another here is my massey :)
ua-cam.com/video/1dmXSYVCdoQ/v-deo.html
nah, he is just a nice dude making vids about what he loves, i think that those 4 tractors don't get to 70k dollars combined, so he isn't bragging at all...
He needed three during silo filling time
Glenn! Hey buddy...You aren't the Glenn that's getting the Super A are ya?

😂😂😂😂
Nothing greater on our farm than a tracked skid steer. I clean and move lots of stuff.
I agree....we would love to have one on our farm
Ron Miller I agree as well. As much as I want a back hoe or kubota type tractor, I think skid steers with tracks are the most useful out of any tractor.
Josh my New Holland TC 40DA tractor is hydrostatic and it has an electronic Cruze control on it so you don't have to steady mash the pedal. Good video!
We always used a ford 8n tractor to move snow and plow a garden on a few acres. Enjoyed it alot. Thanks for your info too.
Yep...8n is a great tractor
Love the Grand National in the background! Looking at getting my first tractor. I have a 87 GN and 89 TTA
I appreciate your videos. As an aspiring rancher/ farmer your videos greatly help.
Glad to help
I admire what this guy does
This is good advice, especially about getting a little more tractor than you think you need. Also, the advice about renting for a day or two was spot on. I only have three acres and not a week goes by that I don't have a need for my 28HP compact with backhoe. For all else, I rent.
Awesome video. Totally agree about the Front End Loader! We have a 3.7 acre property and ended up going with the BX model of Kubota.
I have 3-4 acres of workable land for crops. Thanks for the advice. I think I will stick with a compact.
Have a BX23S and wish I had a bigger machine when it comes to doing everything beyond grass cutting. Thanks for sharing your collection.
Josh, thank you so much for all these great videos about farming and farming equipment, very informative and extremely helpful! God bless you
Good video. I've got a barn full of tractors and equipment to work 68 acres with around 16 acres cleared and the rest in woods. here's the list:
JD 450G dozer
JD 350B crawler loader
JD310 TLB
JD 2350 with fel
JD 1250
JD 2030
Ford 2910
NH TC 55 with fel
Yanmar 2110
Ford F-700 dump truck
Implement list it too long to list as it asundry list for ditching machines augers ,blades ...
I see my dream car,,,,,Grand Nationals ruled the late 80”s. Take me back Stoney........
Love the Grand National in the background.
Loader ? Yes ! 2 of them , a big one and a little one . 👍
A loader's (bucket) width should just cover the width of the tires. Not less.
Also 100%, buy a 4x4.
So do you recommend a Kubota then
@@HooDRidEWhiteY You can't go wrong with Kubota.
@@Kaegis thank you so much for the thoughtful reply!!!
Thanks.
Won't go wrong with a Kabota.
Great video. It's great to hear farm talk again.
I tried clearing some land with a backhoe it worked .... then I got a dozer and man that was the right tool for the job
I wish I had a dozer, it really would be better but I can't find one in my area that's cheap. And paying someone to transport a dozer isn't cheap either. I'm always looking around for one just in case it pops up though. :)
We use our John Deere 3032e for everything. Don't listen to anyone that says they can't do much
I think I would add availability on service , parts and implements for your tractor and budget!
I’ll be watching for sure , I like to view other peoples aspects on different things
I did not know this is NC. subscribed! 😀
Great topic and good info! We should do something similiar in a collab. I also have that same john deere 310
I've got 20 acres...
A 29k lb wheel loader
65 horse 2wd
28 2wd
I use that big pig of a loader most it's hard to beat the power.
You mean front loader that front forklift thingy
Josh you make a lot of common sense.
thanks....check your comment buddy...talk to text got ya lol
Nice looking Tractors!
Another great video. I just got my used but new to me Kubota L4310 with loader and cab delivered today!
After doing months of research, you finally buy the ideal tractor, then after 6 months of use, you buy the real tractor you need.
No you dont need a loader.
1week into my first tractor.
I think a loader would be nice.. good vid man
Yep....in about 6 months you'll be itching for one....then about 2 years from now you'll start looking for your next tractor....and I'll bet ya get one with a loader...it's just so handy and if you're buying new or used...it's not that big of a markup
Thanks Josh
my stepdad had a 310 with the cab closer years ago, and it was a nice backhoe
My John Deere’s got cruise control so it’s no problem
Dangerous option. I never use mine. Takes too long to disengage and apply brakes.
Great video again josh, I love what your doing with this channel keep it all up brother and God Bless!
Good points, can't argue.
I have watched all your videos, Not sure what to do now that I've watch them all LOL.. Thanks for post them I really enjoy them.
Good video.
Yep..lots of work got done with them old tractors...tough as nails for sure
Very valuable and practical information on tractor sizes/cost. Thank you
Your channel is great. Thank you
Fantastic! We’re looking at buying an 18 acre smaller ranch, and this is a big help!
35-40 hp subcompact. 6" attachments. And the original dealer within a reasonable distance.
I work for a small municipal public works dept.. we have a job 5075e. Cab 4*4 all the whistles. 300 hours... It's the biggest hunk of garbage I've ever operated in my.life.. all we do is bushogging... That's it.. and I've walked back more than it's brought me back.. when it's running .. it's awesome.. but at least half the time it's broke down.. right now it's in the shop getting injectors.. 4300 bucks... Ac only works on high.. never been real cold.. hit a bump the other day and half the vents stopped working.. won't stay in four-wheel drive. Still smells like anew car .... Get a Massey
just bought a Massey 240 with a cab this week .. 1600 hours .. all so have a 135 UK with a loader,, farmall 100 and a Allis B .. can wait to try the 240 Massey out
Probably the kubota and the John Deere
Great honest info, but not biased recommendations of what is "ideal for you". Good summary of realistic uses and needs. Thank you so much. I look great price info too. 👍
I can see our reflection in your sunglasses... golly we look good
We have a Ford 555B backhoe and that thing is so handy to have.
hey josh if you ever forget what that is hanging from the sun shade it is written on it "tractor pillow"
Thank you all for those who have served!
What's a good one mainly just for fun like driving around😂
Great video. The car in the back ground looks like a Grand National to this old car guy them are a quick little ride. I like the tractors to.
Yep you called it it's an 87' GN
I actually have one of those Masseys. Only 30 acres of pasture the horses run on. Mind you it's not as pretty and well, if you have one you know. But I hog with it and no, I don't need anything more.
Josh, food for thought. When servicing these tractors don't overlook the lube points on the front axles. Replacing the front frog is not a fun job on any of these you own. I'm meaning the center pivot's on all of them.
@@steveholton4130 It attaches the front end/axle radiator base to the front of the engine block. It also is the center pivot point for the front axle.
