Originally released in December 1954. My guess is, at that time, Famous Studios decided that Katnip would be seen only in his joint appearances with Herman- and, due to increased production costs and a "soft" market for theatrical cartoons, also terminate the "Buzzy" series. For his final cartoon, "Katnip" was drawn slightly different, but it IS the same charcater and voice [Sid Raymond]. Jackson Beck is, of course, Buzzy and "Dr. Nicotine".
It was pretty far out the first time I saw this with the mid-'50s Noveltoon opening. Brings a whole new perspective after years of seeing the Harvey prints on TV. Thanks, Milton!

They used a different Katnip in this cartoon because the real Katnip has become popular in Herman and Katnip.

Stephen Treadwell actually, it’s Katnip, as established in the cartoons he starred in with Herman the Mouse.
