You have no idea how much this review has helped me. I booked a makeup consultation at Nordstrom because I was noticing how terrible my foundation looked. The woman blamed my skin!!!! I didn’t realize they had changed the formula. This explains my issue!

I would love to see Dior come out with some fragrance free/chemical sunscreen free options for us sensitive skin fans of the brand. I love the concealer and LOVED the face and body foundation but ended up returning because the added fragrance made my rosacea mad. I prefer no sunscreen in my base personally and to use my own since that usually is the reason that foundation breaks me out. Literally the only complaint I have for Dior, I’ve loved everything else I’ve tried.

Yes! My skin is sensitive to both sunscreens and fragrances, so I also prefer my base products to be without! Plus I live in the north of Norway, and we don't even see the sun for about three months during winter 🤷, so no need to bother my skin more than necessary during those months. (Most definitely need sunscreen when it comes back though, and the white snow reflects every sunbeam like mad! 😅😎🤡 But still don't want it in my foundation!)
Agreed. Fragrance makes my rosacea go mad as well. One of the biggest triggers for me.
@R.C. yeah that’s why I bought it originally thinking the lack of sunscreen would make it work for me but the fragrance was way too strong for my skin.
It is so weird, I am in Oceania and the Dior Forever foundations are SPF free down here, they must have different formulas for different markets?

Thank you for this review, Michelle! I was JUST about to purchase this as it was recommended to me as a beautiful radiant foundation. I’m also glad to hear from others about the scent of this foundation causing issues for those with sensitive skin. I do have dry skin that is very sensitive. I will contemplate other options. Now leaning towards Armani Luminous Silk.
I found Armani to be too drying for me. Try the new nars light reflecting foundation.

Thank you Michele. It’s frustrating that it’s more matte because they have a matte option, they should’ve left this one alone. I originally found it by filtering foundations by rating on the a Sephora app and finding reviews that mentioned skin concerns that are similar to mine. I just found it in 2021 and for the first time ever-it made me never want to wear any other foundation in my collection. The glow was just right for my combination skin, I have dry areas, pores and get oily by end of day but the old formula of the Dior Skin Glow didn’t accentuate my dryness or pores and held up... I did buy a backup during the last Rouge sale because it’ll be the first time in YEARS that I finish up a foundation. Had I known they were going to change the formula, I’d have bought as many backups as I could. Why do they mess with a good thing? It was so great :(
Unlike many people, I enjoy the slight smell of luxury brands, that's half the point!! However, Dior has really impressed me with so many of their products. I can't wait to try it!

Ugh! This is the second time Dior has changed or discontinued my favorite foundation! I am so glad I bought two backups during the Sephora sale last fall.
This looks lovely on you. I have been using the Natural Nude. I really enjoy it. I was unable to get my color because it has been temporarily unavailable for quite some time so I had to purchase two colors. I really wish these companies would stop putting spf in their foundations. I use my own and some foundations I cannot use because it causes my eyes to water. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Michele, for reviewing this! I’ve been so frustrated with Dior over the years with their constant reformulating! They take a phenomenal product and ruin it! I’ve found that if I find a product I like, I buy several back ups, just in case! Hopefully, Dior will take reviews like these to heart and bring back the original formula!

Oh wow... I was really excited to see how the new version would compare and I am SO glad I didn't pick it up. Definitely do not need something that is orange-colored or cakey on my face!! This is disappointing - but thanks for the heads up Michele!

I’ve never tried Dior’s Skin Glow foundation but I’m a huge fan of the original forever foundation. Now I’m curious if the new formulation will work for me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I had this problem with the original formula. Everybody was raving about it so I tried but I found my skin was so dry, even with a moisturizing primer. Also, it oxidized every time I wore it.
I absolutely love the concealer more. its the best thing ever. I just wish they made it the same for the foundation!
Hello Michele. I try and been using this new Dior foundation and like it ( don’t love it). I have normal skin maybe a touch oily around my nose. But I guess I was expecting more from the new version.

I am so happy I got to check in about this foundation. I have a dry skin and really not a foundation user even in my late 30s.. so I have to trust someone to purchase something. Let me know which brand is a good one for a dry skin where it covers the wrinkles and fine lines..your feedback looks pretty much genuine and real .
Hello Michele, have you ever tried Dior’s backstage foundation? It has been a favorite for me. I use that along with the Forever Skin Correct concealer. Both work great together. The backstage looks very skin like light to medium buildable coverage. So, if anyone who used the Forever Skin and isn’t happy with the new foundation, they might give Backstage a try. I’ve been pleased with it for a good couple of years. I know I will repurchase it again. 🤗 I hope they don’t change the Forever skin Correct Concealer, that’s been my holy grail of concealer over the past couple years. Not sure why they had to change the formulation of the foundation if it already worked well? I hope they aren’t changing all their foundations etc. Thanks for the wear test video! It is helpful! 👍🏼

Had the same experience with this. Same “dry” look. So disappointed. The sales person on the airport where I bought it did tell me to get half a shade lighter because of the oxidation, I’m usually 2N like you but bought 1,5 N and that was the right decision definitely. This needs a VERY moisturising primer to work during winter time I think.

FYI. These were reformulated to be "clean" and with recyclable packaging. What good is it they just end up being returned and tossed in the garbage anyway.

Probably cost reduction unfortunately… even though they make it sound like there are value adding features.
A makeup artist told me Foundation Oxidizes because our natural oils mix with the formula, I find with this formula I have to Put on a chemical exfoliator like Paulas choice 2% bha Exfoliating liquid, then a thicker moisturizer, Then find a sticky Primer like elf, to put on top Of the moisturizer once it's soaked in well, And it seemed to do really well that way. And I blend it with my fingers, Because brushes and Sponges seem to soak up a lot of the product and could possibly be making the product to drying on the skin.

I am a diehard Dior foundation fan but the problem is each one works well with a different primer and not at all with my favorite primer. I had 5 fantastic skin days until I tried the new bite primer for dry skin. My face felt tight, dry, and I could feel my makeup. I would try a patch test with different primers and see what happens.

Hi Michele, maybe it will be great to use in summer. My skin is dehydrated in winter, but in summer I need little bit of powder or dryer foundation. Hope, the shade will be good then.

Hey Michele. Car footage I could totally see what you were saying. I could see the dry/tightness. AND you are correct, it oxidized. Dior needs to remove sunblock, FRAGRANCE and essential oils from their foundation. Okay, stepping down off my soapbox. (FYI - regardless of rhe foundations issues, ypur lovliness shone through!)
Water based primer will help on this one and will wear nicely. I had similar issue and problem solved. Needs moisture holding products underneath

just sitting here watching the video (which I found occasionally) with the trial shot of this same Dior Glow foundation (even the same tone) on my skin. I assume we have the same skin type (Asian, pale, normal).
And I was a little frustrated in the beginning when you said you liked the foundation, cuz in my case after 4 hours I felt dry and was starting to think well maybe it is something wrong with me, maybe all such foundations feel this like? (I was a big fan of Bobby Brown's nude tinted moisturizer with a satin finish which they don't produce anymore and now I am seeking a new tinted cream/light foundation)
And then voilà at the end of the day, you felt the same! dry and "flaky".
Ok, will forget about Dior Skin Glow now.

I bought the older version of this foundation last summer. The SA matched me also with 2N and Id say it is also a good shade for me. I feel it looked nice on m skin on summer but now on winter, it looks a bit cakey. I think my skin is too dry for this at winter. As I get older, I noticed that (strangely) only when I use luminizing primer with a mineral powder foundation, my makeup would look most luminous and least cakey. Whenever I layer on products on top of liquid foundations the worse my skin looks. I think I will never buy another liquid foundation.
Hi Michele! I have oily skin and switched from Lancôme to this foundation and I love it! I don’t use other products underneath; perhaps an ingredient reaction to another product happened here? Just a guess. Either way you are beautiful with or without the foundation!
Wow. I watched your review just in the nick of time. I really had planned to purchase this foundation this week. Parts of my face seem so dry at this time of year, I feel It would not work for me now. I may ask for a sample and see how it performs first.

I’d love your feedback. A few months ago I was at Nordstrom’s in Boca Raton. Based on your review of Dior foundation I am asked for Dior Forever Skin Glow. Unfortunately they were low on stock, probably because Dior was reformulating, and didn’t have anything near my shade (1.5 N). They suggested the Capture Totale Serum Foundation. I tried it and purchased it even though it is a lot more coverage than I like. It is a beautiful foundation for special occasions, doesn’t sink into fine lines and looks flawless. For me that’s great…I am 72, so finding a foundation that doesn’t sink into fine lines is a huge challenge. I still can’t use it everyday. But have you ever tried this formula? If so, what do you think of it?

I was all excited for a minute because slightly more neutral would have been perfect. But drying from a “glow” foundation is unusual. More suited to oilier skins, perhaps. Which is nice for them because it’s harder for them to find a non mattifying foundation suitable for their skin type. They would just need to go a shade lighter to account for the oxidizing.
I have the original matte formula. I’m VERY t-zone oily and it doesn’t tame the oily-ness, nor does it last as a result.
I just bought this and have been wearing it and have a slightly different problem. Oil appears to be pooling on and around my nose, giving a greasy appearance and magnifying the pores around my nostrils. The other areas of my face feel a little tight/dry as well. I will be returning it to get the matte formula. Thank you for the review!

I work at Sephora and we were told that it changed because Dior found the higher SPF to be unstable and harder to formulate. Not sure why they put it on the market in the first place or why the new version still has SPF if that's the case but who knows why these brands do what they do. Kind of a shame because the old formula was a lot of people's HG, I used to sell a TON of Forever Skins and it's one of my reliable go-to recs. Not sure now. There will probably be a lot of unhappy/confused clients for a while.
I also work for Sephora and I’ve been told the matte version wouldn’t oxidize, that it had a new technology so it wouldn’t transfer as much.
The matte version still oxidizes, looks like crap on skin, looks heavy and transfers like a bitch. I was very sad because Dior’s my favorite make up brand.
I just wanted to come back and make a comment about why Dior made these changes and reformulated. It was largely motivated to comply with the charter they have on eco sustainable ingredients, so they've stopped using a bunch of ingredients that were either marked unsafe or "unclean" but mostly also they took stock of all the ingredients and the sourcing and such that they have to be sustainable and non-damaging. They've also added a lot more flowers, in part because it's nice to market something that says it has extracts of a bunch of flowers in it, but because they're also a member of a union for bio-ethical trade. So all of the brands within Dior's umbrella use flowers from organic gardens that commit to sustainable practices. I think that, plus the fact that the bottle is made up of 40% recycled glass, and the whole cap is made of 100% recycled plastic is really great news. I always love supporting the newer brands that have sustainability built in to their brand's core fibre from the get-go, but I also love it when bigger, established companies respond and use their millions of dollars to commit and deliver results on making actual, realistic changes. I'm happy that Dior is using its influence and power on the market to set a new standard for the rest of the industry to follow. And I also love that "clean" isn't just an empty gimmick they like to slap onto their marketing claims. So for what it's worth, I think your makeup looks fantastic in this video, I'm happy the reformulation happened, but I am also sad that it doesn't work as well as you'd like for your skin.
Wow- the title said it all. “Why”. It must be a cost thing, possibly, I’m guessing, as to why things get “reformulated”. What a shame-I actually wanted to try this foundation in the Glow formulation. Not now. Thanks Michele!
Disappointing! I wore the original yesterday and it looked so pretty but at the end of the day I looked in the mirror and my skin was dry and flakey- highly unusual for me. I’m looking forward to trying the new Cle de Peau cream foundation that’s not in the US yet. I loved their original Silky cream foundation that they discontinued a couple of years ago.
It actually does look fantastic on you. I guess it would be more suited for people who do have normal or oily skin but want a skin-like finish in their foundation still? I'd like to try but just wanted to ask if it's transfer-proof on the mask?
Wow, this is so disappointing!! I bought the original version based on your recommendation and it was a game changer for me, but now I think I'm going to skip getting this version. I'm kicking myself for not getting a backup of the older version (I wasn't even aware they were going to reformulate 😭)
I bought the original in shade 2N but it is not neutral at all but it is pink and I was thinking of buying again. When I saw the result from the moment you applied it, it seemed yellowish, dry and marked the lines. Thanks for the review and save me the fiasco
Happy New Year! Sorry to hear this foundation didn’t work for you. I wanted to get the older formula but the shade I needed was no longer available as they obviously were introducing the new formula. I did, however purchase the Forever Natural Nude formula which seems to be working for me. I prefer to wear foundations with no SPF since I wear a separate physical sunscreen. I hope you have better luck with it.
The reformulation monster strikes again! In all my years of using beauty products (hair, make up, & skin) reformulation is always the end for me. The products are never as good or effective once that happens. It’s so disappointing.
I agree!!! I’m so glad Michelle did this video because the original Dior Skin Glow had become my favorite foundation (I have about 20-30 on hand at any given time, and this is the BEST!) I am so worried about the RE formulation, and I do not like the new bottle logo at all. Reformulations will be the death of me (perfumes included)

I’ve been experiencing the driest skin ever lately and been on the hunt for foundation with no spf for flash photography. What I’ve noticed between testing samples (supposedly for dry skin no spf) and my current collection (50+ spf) is that the moisture in my skin remains juicy with my current formulas whereas the samples I’ve been trying look like I’m rubbing liquid powder on my face 🙃. So perhaps decreasing the spf really did change the formula for the worse 😕
I sometimes mix in moisturizer or a glowy primer with my foundation if I feel extra dry.
Replacing go-to foundations is my least favorite part of beauty product scouting. It takes me ages to find a foundation that ticks most of my boxes: coverage, finish, shade match, wear time characteristics, skin type compatibility. When a good foundation is reformulated, it feels like a loss. Some people can make the switch; for everybody else, the search starts all over again.
And when a brand does choose to reformulate, isn't that also the best time to minimize problematic ingredients like fragrance, alcohol, and octisalate? Ahem, Dior.
I love fragrances in my skincare! That’s part of the luxury for me..
No did not try, never purchase Dior, Chanel, Tom Ford foundations because of the fragrance in it with my very sensitive skin. Darn. I was hoping this would work for my dry skin. I have super dry skin so it seems like this would be a pass unfortunately. Amazingly the best foundations for me at this time are drug store brand - flower beauty and Maybelline fitme. Mac face and body is still a good option for me too.
Agreed. Tried w/different moisturizers, serums and primers, but it just seems to suck all the moisture out of my face.

Hopefully more people will have their various cosmetics representatives make a small labeled sample of the foundations that they are interested in, before just purchasing the full size.
The amount of waste that would be reduced simply by doing this one tiny thing, instead of buying the full size, not liking it for whatever reason, and either letting it take up space in a drawer until someone comes to visit who might be that exact color match to take it off your hands, or worse (taking it back to wherever and returning it where it cannot be re-sold to someone else or used as a tester, and gets thrown out regardless) is just the smarter more practical, environmentally conscious choice.
The rep at the counter will appreciate the forethought in these situations, rather than having to take a return and reverse that commission from the original purchase that now gets deducted from their paycheck.

Well I didn’t like when show up all my pores , it was okay after use my translucent powder.
I noticed the foundation last for hours in my skin , better than I thought but like I said it felt a matte skin and not glowy like I wanted it .

I cannot understand why the same foundation oxidize on certain people and on others it does not ! I have a pale complexion and nearly all brands turn yellow or orange on me 😤. Estée Lauder Double Wear is the best as it only oxidizes slightly on me . Thank you for reviewing this foundation.
