I was thinking of changing to these bulbs, but looking at this video, it appears that there is no actual gain in visibility using the night breakers. The light from the night breakers is whiter than the standard, which is a nice touch but from the looks of it visibility is not enhanced. Just pause the video and compare the lit areas and some of the visible landmarks and you will see that their performance is very similar (eg. 1:09). I think it is more of an aesthetic improvement to the car.
i've tried the LED lights - besides blinding everyone else, the light scatters all over the place. it's not focused. with that, it affects other electrical devices in your car (radio, for instance, starts buzzing and that's all you hear with LED lights. the electrician explained it as "oscilator inside of the bulb does that, not a big deal"). i've had them for an hour and returned to the shop.
Agreed, the whiter the light the more it scatters and increases eye strain while reducing peneratability trough the foggy/misty conditions. Another effect might be increased agitation and nervousness since we know that the more blue content in the light the more cortisol and less melatonin there is.
Thanks João, I just had a Osram bulb blow on my Toyota Avensis. I was searching for a the H7 replacement and wondered what is the difference with regular and Night breaker. You have clearly explained it in this video. Well done thanks for sharing..
Gosh, I have to say , what a well made video. Well done, I have just purchased a set of the Night Breaker bulbs and I am very happy with the performance. Many thanks.
Thanx, this was very helpful,iv been looking to upgrade my headlights for some time now, and I've just bought a pair of the nightbreaker plus, will install then tomorrow and do another comparison myself.
I didn't know about these until I saw your review. Gonna probably buy a pair of the Unlimited ones for my wife's Volvo V50 and maybe a second for my Golf. Great review!
Great video. You can definitely see the difference in this comparison video. How long does this bulb last? I want the bright white output like this bulb, but I don't want to keep changing them very 14months like my sylvania ZXE.
Especially for older cars, it is worth checking if the wiring still delivers enough voltage to the bulbs. Changing the wiring alone on my VW Transporter made a huge difference, now bright enough even with standard bulbs. How long do the Nighbreakers last for you? I hear the lifespan is at least three times shorter than standard bulbs, so comes out quite expensive
Nice review! Got myself a pair for my Hyundai and must say the beam and throw are much brighter than oem lamps. Still waiting to test it in rain though
Very nice video. Thanks! Are your fog lights h11's? What do you think of cool blue hyper for fog lights? Would they be brighter than the night breakers? Thanks in advance.
Very good comparison. Congratulations! Although, the only way to accuratly film the differences of color temperature is to define a fixed white balance (usually day-light white balance) instead of leaving the camera to auto. Of couse, smart phones usually don't have this setting available, only more advanced cameras do.
Thanks Helder, I was aware of that behaviour when using a smart phone to record, that's why I took the shots of my fluorescent bulb to try and give all viewers a comparison scale. This way you can not only take my word for it, but also see for yourself that the bulbs are indeed white and not blueish. Thanks for your comment, Abraço!
Next time you do a comparison, can you set the camera to manual white balance, and use the same white balance setting on both? That would help a lot in making sure the white balance doesn't change the settings. Likewise with exposure, if it is possible with your camera.
Thank you very much i will be buying the OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited H7 for my girlfriends opel corsa c 2006 costing around 35 euros. this video helped me very much in my decision. thank you Joäo
I'm on my second pair. The light is great but they don't last long. I have to replace them about once a year. I also don't touch the glass when installing. They simply don't last long, but are good while they work.
Do these lamps live long enough? they are kind of expensive fancy lamps and my low beam is always ON when I drive, even in day time, these are the traffic rules here in Sweden, the low beam is the daytime driving light.
The "before" was with regular OSRAM and the "after" is using OSRAM Night Breaker Plus (Both headlights and fog lights). I dont have Xenon HIDs in any of my lights as it is illegal in this car. Thanks!
I have vitara brezza top model 2018 india. I usually drive in nights in hilly forest highways. There is inbuilt projector headlights, reflector headlights and fog lamps . Couple of instances I have narrow escaped due to invisibility of road edges. Plz suggest me the bulb to select for. I don't believe in to disturb the on coming vehicles.
Hi.I just changed my old ones for night braker unlimited d2s and they are nice white but only for 5-10sec,, then become yellow? do they need some time to burn?
Good recommendation. I am always looking for better bulbs. I have tried almost all brands of the standard bulbs. I don't have Xenon or HID. My cars are old.
Hello Carlos! I am glad you liked this comparison of mine. For old cars, a white coloured bulb will match the style of the car, unlike a blue-colored one. HID will often be illegal, so if you are looking for better light and do not want to risk a strike in the MOT, this type of bulbs are a good option! Thanks for your comment, um abraço :-)
Very good review! Could you do a review between the philips Diamond vision 5000k and the Osram hyper blue 5000k? Really want to know which is the best to buy based on white light and brightness! Thanks
Simon Law Well, I think they are good enough given the improved light that they have. I have some friends with these bulbs and they lasted at least 30.000kms no problem!
João qual lâmpada é melhor (critérios de alcance e durabilidade), pesquisei a OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited e a Philips Xtreme Vision.
I am using night breaker really it improves night vision and then also it does not give you result then clean your front glass as some time problem is there as I am a business man of automobile in aylurangabad
+DJ XtAzY very glad you asked that question. I'm on my second pair of nightbreakers. The light for a conventional filament at 55 watts is definitely good, but they only last about a year. I have to keep replacing them but enjoy the light. I also don't touch the glass upon installation, but they still only last barely a year.
Not in this video, no. Fog is quite rare where I live... but I have already got the chance to drive in fog with these bulbs and they are a definite improvement. Before, the fog lights were mostly decorative, to be honest. Now I can clearly see the markings on the road even with heavy fog, so I am happy with the upgrade.
Did you know that in polish language "Osram" means literally "I will/am going to sh*t..."? For example "Osram spodnie" means "I will shit my pants" :D Good company, bad name in Poland :P
Tested both NBU and Xtreme and i went for the NBU... Xtreme give a narrow and tunel like ilumination and is very weak from my point of view. Also i have an open optic, maybe xtreme is better with projector optic...
Now this is how a comparison video should be done! Excellent my friend!
xxthehuskycaboosexx Thank you friend! :-)

Exactly what i think.
Was thinking on buying the nightbreaker, but not anymore after seeing this.
Just got my led headlight here sites.google.com/site/LEDforHeadlights
^ congrats on now blinding oncoming traffic.
i've tried the LED lights - besides blinding everyone else, the light scatters all over the place. it's not focused. with that, it affects other electrical devices in your car (radio, for instance, starts buzzing and that's all you hear with LED lights. the electrician explained it as "oscilator inside of the bulb does that, not a big deal"). i've had them for an hour and returned to the shop.

Great VDO. Since you mensioned NB Plus is an older model of NB Unlimited, now I know the different, thanks to you.
Thanks for taking the time to show us the comparison's. Amazing!
Thanks I'm from the Uk and this is a very good, informative straight forward review.
Lot of reviewers should watch this and learn.
Thanks João, I just had a Osram bulb blow on my Toyota Avensis. I was searching for a the H7 replacement and wondered what is the difference with regular and Night breaker. You have clearly explained it in this video. Well done thanks for sharing..
Very well done video. Thank you for taking the time to post your real-world experience.
Gosh, I have to say , what a well made video. Well done, I have just purchased a set of the Night Breaker bulbs and I am very happy with the performance.
Many thanks.
very good and detailed comparison. Thank you for taking the time to post this.

Thanks a lot for this great review, comparision and comments. Helped me a lot.
Thanks, I am always glad to help :-)
People like you,make better internet!
Thank you
Really useful review, excellent job, I just ordered a pair of NB Unlimited bulbs, I hope I'll see at least this much of a difference.
Thank you for your work on this comparative!
It was what I needed.
Cheers.

My factory bulb finally failed after 13 years. I pulled it out and realized it was made by Osram. That’s a surprisingly long life for a lightbulb.

Very nice comparison! I still have the old night breaker on my car.
Touge Monster They are still excellent bulbs indeed. I am planning to make another comparison, this time with Phillips X-Treme vision...
I'm on my second pair. The light is great but they don't last long. I have to replace them about once a year. I also don't touch the glass when installing. They simply don't last long, but are good while they work.
Excellent "side by side" comparison without unnecessary bias. Personal preferences clearly explained.
simply great .. a very thoughtful comparison and it helped me to decide on night breaker for my car. Thank you :)
Excellent video showing the actual results, thanks.
i hope you tried also on rainy terrain...guess white bright lights seems to bounce back on rains and produce glare...just from my experience.
Very good comparison, man! Many thanks!
used heavily tinted windshield and we will see the result if still working good specially at night
would you wear sunglasses at night? then if yes this video is pretty useless for you. This video is about the performance of the headlights.
I just got a pair of these NB plus lights, but do you know if they are always white ? My model of bulbs is the 12v 55w PGJ19-2 64211NBP-01B
711NBP
Quality side by side review Sir that's how its done.
Very useful, got some on order thanks to this video
I know I've come to this very late, but thanks for a great video mate!
i agree with all the others that this is the way to do a comparison! Great Job!
Do these lamps live long enough? they are kind of expensive fancy lamps and my low beam is always ON when I drive, even in day time, these are the traffic rules here in Sweden, the low beam is the daytime driving light.
Thank you for this comparison and also your commentary on the bulbs - very helpful and all useful information. Nice work! :)
Hi!. Thank you for the review. Your fog lights are Xenon HID or Osram Night Breaker Plus?.
The "before" was with regular OSRAM and the "after" is using OSRAM Night Breaker Plus (Both headlights and fog lights). I dont have Xenon HIDs in any of my lights as it is illegal in this car. Thanks!

A very good honest review, well done!

your windhiseld is clear? Or with Tint? Thanks!
hi Joao, excellent test! What kind of bulb does your car mount? H4? H7?
+Andrea Bello This one is H4. Cheers.
Very nice test, just what I needed. Thanks man :-)
Best test & comparison on youtube ;) thnx man for the helpful video.
Excelent comparasion!!
it's that the same brightness ? i don't see much different from this 130% vs regular
I have the same car, which bulbs should I buy? h1-4..?
Very good review!
Could you do a review between the philips Diamond vision 5000k and the Osram hyper blue 5000k?
Really want to know which is the best to buy based on white light and brightness!
Thanks
Are OSRAM LEDs just bulbs or must install with ballasts?
Can you use the NBU as high beams on a Renault Megane? Great review
did you change the bulbs yourself? did you upgrade the wire harness? thank you
No mods needed, these are plug and play. You change them like a regular bulb. Thanks!
i jsut want to ask..is that white? white white i mean? coz i bought philips white vision but its not white..
Hi there, very informative video, good in depth information, just one question, is the longevity of the bulbs good?
Simon Law Well, I think they are good enough given the improved light that they have. I have some friends with these bulbs and they lasted at least 30.000kms no problem!
João Rocha da Silva Funny you should say that, I put my new bulbs in about 2 months ago and 1 has gone already! but I like the light difference
Is the white balance locked on the camera?
excellent comparison
You drove across a bridge that is lighted from one end to another. I would have better information if you drove on a dark road with no moonlight.
Please, which your decision about this in rainy day? Thank you? abraço!
I suppose that the headlight bulbs are H4 and that is the reason why the light is whiter. (H4 3900K, H7 3600K)

really excellent work, great video. thank you.
Aren't white lights bad for foggy conditions?
Harzman01 Some say yellow is better, others say white. I think yellow is better for ppl to see you, not necessarily for you to see the road better...
Muito obrigado pelo vídeo (Thank you very much for the video) :)
55/60w are good or 90/100w would be better....

Thanks for your help.
Hello. Can you tell please if the type is H7 or H5 ? Thanks in advance.
CHris G The 1998 corolla used the same bulb for both low and high beams. The type for these is most likely H4.
Hey can you replace normal H7 bulbs with these ?
muchas gracias. buen video !!!
Thanks for the video buddy ! ... Great Review... good job
Glad to help!
Very good review. Thanks!
I am using night breaker really it improves night vision and then also it does not give you result then clean your front glass as some time problem is there as I am a business man of automobile in aylurangabad
Try looking through a Sony A7S camera, you won't need any special bulbs plus nobody will be blinded! ;)
do they have these lights in H4 connectors?
thanks
Good job, thanks for this.
Useful review thanks mate
Michael Ord Thanks !
Congratulations for your video !
Very useful,thank you :-)
How's the life expectancy on these bulbs?
+DJ XtAzY very glad you asked that question. I'm on my second pair of nightbreakers. The light for a conventional filament at 55 watts is definitely good, but they only last about a year. I have to keep replacing them but enjoy the light. I also don't touch the glass upon installation, but they still only last barely a year.

What is meant by regular ? Wattage?
Muito bom meu amigo !! Tks a lot !
Excelente trabalho Joao ;) Abraço de Witney
whats the difference between nightbreaker, nightbreaker plus and nightbreaker unlimited?
Tommy Sands Unlimited are the newest in nightbreaker range, give more light. And bigger price :)
Tommy Sands Worth tho
Very well done!
Can you run these on standard headlights without a ballast?
Yes, no mods required.
Thanks.
Great review!! Keep up the good work. :D
great job on the review
Did you know that in polish language "Osram" means literally "I will/am going to sh*t..."? For example "Osram spodnie" means "I will shit my pants" :D Good company, bad name in Poland :P
+sebastian
Did you know that polish are the most disliked persones in EU?
A POS!
Bad name - bad people!
N/C...
Entre as OSRAM NBU e as Philips Xtreme Vision (130%) quais as melhores ?
***** Cant put Xenon... i have an open optic, not a projector.
Tested both NBU and Xtreme and i went for the NBU...
Xtreme give a narrow and tunel like ilumination and is very weak from my point of view.
Also i have an open optic, maybe xtreme is better with projector optic...
Good video.
I prefer OSRAM ULTRALIFE, I see better and last longer =>2000h 3year warranty
I do not care the white light style.
Que achas? Umas NB ou LED?
