The year Joe Bob did this broadcast, Mariska Hargitay joined the cast of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, a role she still plays to this day, so I'd say she made out okay.
I remember because I watched this very episode and thought the same thing. She was foxy (I was already a Jayne Mansfield fan anyway, so...) and whatever happened to her? Sure enough, not too long after, I stumbled across the very first SVU episode and went "what are the odds?!" and because an instant SVU fan after that.
OMG . I ❤ Joe bob Briggs. Monster vision was scary good. He showed the best b-movies ever. No matter how tried I was i stayed up all night to watch monster vision . Thanks so much for posting this. Much love. His reviews of the movies were as campy as the movies themselves. Awesome.
Man I Miss TNT Monstervision!!! I Remember when Me, My Little Brother & My Little Sister Use To Watch this show Every Saturday Night & then talk about it at school on Monday to our Friends who also use to watch this show...I Promise Joe Bob Briggs Made These B-Movies More Fun to watch & that’s why I Love Movies Like The Ghoulies Movies, The Puppet Master Movies & All Of The Other Low Budget Movies we Use To Watch As Kids...Joe Bob Briggs On TNT Monstervision, Host On USA Up All Night, SvenGhoulie & Other Host On Other TV Shows back in the day Made Me really Love & Appreciate These Kinda Movies & that’s why I still watch them All till this day 😎💯💯
Still remember going into my video store and they had a big poster up and as soon as I saw that poster I was sold and then a few months later the video store owner gave me that poster !!!! He was a real cool guy the owner he gave me all the old horror posters and sold me ex rental vhs for real decent prices!!!! I miss that era so much !!!!!
These are great clips from his show. I love JBB, and I can even forgive his less than focused rants and sometimes uninformed opinions much better than I can take my drunk uncle pontificating during Thanksgiving, even if both can sound eerily similar at times. Joe Bob is way more amusing! And HOGZILLA!!!! Joe Bob and drive-in movie mutants forever!
The first three Ghoulies movies are GREAT B-Movie fun! Each one totally has its own vibe, I would say Ghoulies 2 is the best all-rounder 80s Horror / Comedy
I remember watching ghoulies 2 with my mom and lil brother. I was about ten years old. needless to say it was quite awkward, and I even realized back then it had a scatological undertone
Yes it was. Ghoulies was bad and boring. Ghoulies II was bad and somewhat entertaining at times. We saw the Ghoulies a lot more in the sequel, and what's on the box actually happened. Which is what 99.9% of the people who actually rented that movie wanted to see. It was crap, but it happened. And I'm referring to the green Ghoulie biting someone in the asshole who sat down to take a #2.
Ha, that wrestler whose letter Joe Bob reads also played Thor on Curb Your Enthusiasm, the wrestler who's ready to kick Larry's ass for threatening his kids.
Ha, so much stuff you could never get away with today: constantly saying "midget" every episode, the eye candy mail girl, constantly propositioning said mail girl, and that whole rant on River Dance.
Joe bob is great he is comedically insensitive but at the same time he's the kind of guy that will say fuck the klan and women should get paid the same as men for the same job. He isn't apologetic he's a true good guy who doesn't care what you think and id love to have a beer with him.
I know Joe Bob is smarter than he looks, but his joke about "scatological" and "eschatological" being the same because they're both about "the end" of mankind, is that joke even going to be understood by 1% of people?

@z k Yes she does, and yes it is.
Who would've guessed.

Rhonda sheer and Joe bob were a big part of my childhood. One I miss

I'm here from the future to let you know that, just in case you haven't heard, Joe Bob is back! His show was revived by Shudder a few years ago. 🙂
You knew you stayed up really really late whenever you heard that "Joe Bob's Last Call" theme.
Lol true . I heard it many times .that and monstervision
I never understood the “separate shows” 😂 idea as a high schooler back then.
I miss those days already. TNT back in it's glory days. The good old days I used to stay up late and watch MonsterVision every single week.
TNT re-aired a bunch of chuck jones era looney tunes in primetime back then too. cable tv is kinda stunning to think about now
@@pladtoeputh I used to watch monster vision every week way back then. TNT at it's best. The simple times.
Oh joe bob. You were great! I miss this show. I grew up with as a kid. Shows were better back in the day..
That rant about River Dance is a good demonstration of his influence on James Rolfe. Very AVGN.
I remember joe bob! It was a good show and he was very funny! TV was more fun back then.
He's been back for 3 years almost
Surviving the Game is such an underrated film
Cameron Scott Joe Bob is an honorary member of the Zulu nation
Its a surprisingly good adaptation of the short story

i saw ghoulies when it first came out, and now in 2018 i only got that "get you in the end" joke LOL

My friends and I in undergrad saw a clip of Darin McBee aka Malibu on American Gladiators and he was an instant laugh among us.

Ah the Malibu letter. Classic
It’s funny hearing him talk about email as if it’s witchcraft
This was great but man, I'd love to see the Joe Bob bumpers for Twin Peaks: FIre Walk With Me!
Josh Hadley has the Fire Walk With Me bumpers posted now.
AND he got hit in the head with a sprite bottle!
Oh, I remember the tongue fu!
What a great promo before monstervision starts.
hi handsome, been huge fan for decades...ur humor is sassy !!!
thanks
Please do more of these!
It'd be cool to know where to pause the movie for Joe Bob's interjections
Can't believe he didn't know Mariska Hargitay was in the talking dog/cop show Tequila & Bonetti.
@z k The female lead on Law & Order: SVU
Never heard of her or that show lmfao why would joe bob?
Ghoulies 2 was so much better than Ghoulies.
Steve Stevensteverson was it?
Yes it was. Ghoulies was bad and boring. Ghoulies II was bad and somewhat entertaining at times. We saw the Ghoulies a lot more in the sequel, and what's on the box actually happened. Ghoulies III is the best because of how self aware it is.
so this Deron McBee waz in "Immortal Combat" plus "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation". yeah i got nothing lol
I remember that sprite commercial!
Ha, that wrestler whose letter Joe Bob reads also played Thor on Curb Your Enthusiasm, the wrestler who's ready to kick Larry's ass for threatening his kids.
i just watched that episode last night
Joe bob is the fucking man
Lol can't get away with saying half of that on tv now.
4:23 THAT needs to be a meme, NOW!!
I lol'd @ Motaro from MK Annihilation being salty about Roddy Piper.
Ha, so much stuff you could never get away with today: constantly saying "midget" every episode, the eye candy mail girl, constantly propositioning said mail girl, and that whole rant on River Dance.
Basically the whole show you can’t do anymore.
Holy shit he was Motaro

Hilarious
90s tv
William Butler is hilarious on Facebook
2 only gets 2 1/2 stars? Well maybe but I can honestly say your commentary makes it a full 4 stars.
I realise this was 20+ years ago but man Joe has really aged. He looks really old in the new Shudder series
whatever happened to this guy
he is doing the horror movie gatherings and producing stuff
+ian mcafee Thanks, my friend for loading Monstervision.

I know Joe Bob is smarter than he looks, but his joke about "scatological" and "eschatological" being the same because they're both about "the end" of mankind, is that joke even going to be understood by 1% of people?
I never got it after all these years.
Check out John Bloom's book: Eccentric orbits: the iridium story to see how smart joe bob really is.
@SceneMissingFilms What's your problem?
I hate river dance it makes me mad
