Everytime I think I've stumbled onto the greatest musician of the previous generation I find someone like Emil Richards. What an AMAZING man and incomparable percussionist. Does it get any more interesting than this? NO!

As a drummer and percussionist myself, this man is one of my few and favorite heroes.... and the type of man/ musician that I wish I was,or could have been.....or even come close to! We are losing a whole generation of "the real deal",
men like Emil are the epitome of genius and greatness and humility combined with a knowledge and experience that ,once gone, sadly,can never be replicated....we can only hope to try.A true master on the level of an Allah Rahka...

Emil Richards is without an equal in the world of Master Percussionists ,im extremely surprised & a bit bummed out discovering Terry Bozzio didnt add any of Emils odd and rare percussion pieces being that Terry collects odd instruments and looked to Emil as his percussion hero/legend ,im also sad seeing Emils living room without a big Marimba off to the side ,this man is so cool he is the Miles Davis of percussion .
