I have all 3 iPod touch 7 storage models. Despite the camera's shortcomings, I never thought I would enjoy photo and video-shooting to the point of eventually buying an iPhone 11 as an upgrade.
The iPod will always be near and dear to my heart as it’s the first apple device I received for my 13th birthday. I would spend hours at a local cafe reading up on what was going on in the world while also downloading games on their wifi. RIP to an iconic device.
It’s a bit sad to see it go actually 😕 Unboxing is still satisfying. I would love that blue color on the iPhone 14 Pro models. Thanks for making this video 👍🏼
Yeah but iPod on iPhone is not as cool as it was while being a standalone device. I remember the satisfaction of ripping all my CDs to a 4th gen Classic and cramming it full with my favourite tunes. Now music doesn’t feel as personal thanks to streaming services.
It seemed imminent that they would discontinue the product. Most people that want an ipod touch already have an iPhone. The iPhone is basically infringing on the iPod market. I'm actually surprised that it lasted this long. Thought it was discontinued a while ago.
I use my iPod for listening to podcasts while at work so I don’t drain my battery on my phone, so I just ordered a new iPod touch as a backup in case I have any issues down the road
Watching this on my iPod Touch...which I just purchased a couple of months ago. I love it. I use it around my house as a portable music player, watch the occasional youtube video, and use it as white noise as I sleep. Will occasionally send some messages on it. So small and light.
I’ve had several iPods including the first iPod touch. I got that before my first iPhone. While it’s completely outclassed now, it was quite something at that time. Fond memories for sure but its time is long past.
My first Apple device was the iPod 4, it was such a great device as a child, many great games like the old versions of Minecraft, Temple Run, Subway Surfers, Angry Bird, etc. I got another iPod (5th gen) before getting an iPhone (6s), I also got an iPad (4 then Air 2) when I had my iPods. I'd love to see a refreshed iPod (non-touch) in the future as my dad's iPod shuffle was a neat device, the click wheel was a cool way to navigate the OS and playback.
I had a iPod classic (2007), a silver Nano (2011) and a blue iPod touch (2012). It’s sad that iPods are gone. Most people are using iPhones to listen to music.
I bought myself a silver iPod touch 7 128GB right after Christmas 2021 after the battery quit in my old iPhone 6s that I had been using as an iPod. After I heard that they discontinued the iPod touch I immediately added a trip to Best Buy into my plans and I bought a black 32B iPod touch that I plan on keeping sealed in the package for a few years until the value of sealed new units inevitably skyrockets (hello iPod classic) and I may even order a red one after I receive my paycheck on Friday if they are still available. Even though i have an iPhone 12 I personally still use an iPod because I can’t stand being interrupted by phone calls and GPS directions while listening to something. I’d much prefer plugging the iPod into my van and just using the phone speaker for directions. My first apple device was an iPod shuffle and my first smart device was an iPod touch 4. I used the iPod touch 4 as my main device for 2 years until 2012, when the power button got stuck and I needed to take a flight to Florida, so I needed a working power button. Then I used the iPod touch 5 as my main device until I got an iPhone 6 in 2014, then i used it as a secondary device until the battery went. I have had every iPod touch after that even after getting an iPhone I continued using and upgrading my iPod touch. The iPod touch has always done everything I needed it to do and was usually in my pocket, even alongside my iPhone. I will be sad to see it go and will use my iPod touch 7 until it no longer holds a charge then I will be forced to give it up kicking and screaming and use an iPhone without a sim (and without a headphone jack) as my secondary device for music and podcasts. It was a good run for iPod and it will be greatly missed by me. I hope I’m able to order another on Friday because they really do hold a special place in my heart and if we’re being honest, I probably won’t end up selling them for a ludicrous price, I’ll likely put them up on display somewhere near my computer and just keep them. Lol! (Yes I’m that crazy apple nerd who would use discontinued sealed iPods as decor)
The iPod touch was my first foray into Apple. I got it for my wife so she could play music. She liked it, but wasn’t all that impressed. Until I started messing with the installed productivity app. When she saw how I could synchronize our two calendars in real time, she became impressed. Within a couple months, we gave up Palm Centro for iPhone 3GS. We never even considered another phone. And later, the iPhone (aka, gateway drug) led to us dropping Windows PCs for Macs. Our computing lives are so much better than before.
Even though the iPod has been discontinued, it will live forever in my heart, after all, it was like half my childhood, what a great device. It was perfect back in the day for kids who would like the experience of an iPhone, but without the unnecessary features like cellular and calling and a reduced price :). I got my first one when I was 9 and it was wonderful, R.I.P iPod.
My first Apple product was the nano in 2005. Had to dig it out as my new car does not have a CD. Still works. Bought an I pad mini and I phone SE3. R. I. Pod. You were the backbone of a trillion dollar company.
For nostalgia I ordered a new 7th gen ipod touch from ebay, my highschool memories was with the ipod nano and the last apple device I ever used was an iphone 4 so it's been more than 10 years since I used anything Apple and I'm kinda excited to relive memories again ❤
Thanks Brandon for your informative and awesome quality content-I really do appreciate your dedication and efforts you put in to creating these amazing videos-Keep it up Brandon!.🔥🙂!.It’s very sad to see end the iPod touch lineup!.Also yes that blue is very cool!.
still holding onto my 6th generation, it was the first ipod i built my minecraft diamond lab on, diamond lab will always live on. i might have to put it on a different device but that wont be for a while. im making a video on my view about this heartbreaking situation. as i say the good old days still live on with me. any broken ipods my fan base and i salute the fallen soldiers, even old iphones. i just ordered an ipod touch with a custom engraving on it. which im happy i acted quick. im crying inside about the fact that its discontinued just like that, man.. steve jobs would not be happy.
Yeah I've got the 6th gen as well, 64GB. Still runs alright, battery is gone to crap, left it on iOS 10 but apps for getting outdated. Still I only use it for surfing the net, some sites don't load properly but that's all good . Have had it for over 6 years.
I still remember the 1st time I ever got an ipod touch(was my first touch screen device I ever owned seeing as I was to poor to actually get an iPhone or any android phone at the time). I remember bringing it home, and I thought it was the coolest thing that I could use it while on the toilet 😂 idk why that always stuck out to me.
I am really sad about this because I use my iPod daily for music and podcasts, I do not want to jog or gym with my phone as it is a distraction and it's big. I really hope Apple will design a modern version of the iPod in the future . 💔
It would be kinda weird and suck if Apple sold the iPod and did not offer it any more major software updates. I feel like it still might get iOS 16 because it has the A10 and 2 GB which is the same as the iPhone 7 and I don't think they'll drop the 6s and 7 especially since the 6s would have had longer support at that point. They probably could drop support for the iPod without too much backlash but it would seem weird if they did.
I started my iOS journey with the 4th Gen iPod Touch in December of 2013 (I was a freshman in high school). I have one with white bezels and one with black. My sister has a pink 5th gen. She she stopped using it in 2013 when she got a iPhone 5C. She’s had 2 iPhones since then.
The ipod touch made sense in a world where you stored all your music on your device and in a world without smart watches or cheap smartphones. As soon as iPhone and streaming services like Spotify became a viable business model, the iPod was starting to make less and less sense.
I bought the 7th gen a few months ago, mainly have been using it as a MP3 Recorder. Hopefully it last a long time that maybe my son can use it once he get a little older. RIP iPod, thank you for helping pave the way for tech
The iPod was Apple’s golden item that helped their company after a rough decade, now the iPhone is king and the touch is repetitive. After twenty years, it’s finally done for. R.I.P. iPod.
Back in 2010, when i got my first ever ipod touch 4, it was absolutely outstanding, a decent camera for the time, great games, internet and socials, none of the kids had iphones nor even wanted or could afford one, a sony ericsson/symbian nokia paired with this was the best combination, and i suppose that was the target for apple, get youngsters into the ecosystem and it sure worked on me. These days this tactic is fully outdated with older iphones being so economically viable, no longer a market as it was back then for these devices. It made a good childhood.
I just recently got mine and I’m glad that I have bought mine just in the nick of time. The iPod will always be remembered as one of the revolutionary and innovative multimedia device.
I still store music locally because I don't always have signal and would like to listen to my music whenever wherever. The iPods used to have better sound chips than the iPhones until the chips shrunk enough to the point where the decent to good DACs can be integrated until the headphone jack went bye bye. I still have the 3rd Gen iPod, 1st and 3rd gen iPod Touch, 4th 6th and 7th gen iPod Nano. Great devices especially when I want to work out or take my music into areas I don't want my phone to be in or if I don't want the weight of the phone to drag me down. The 7th Gen Nano still sees use as a gym music player.
Makes sense to discontinue it. Most people who have an iPhone probably wouldn't bother with an iPod Touch given the price... and likely get an iPad instead. The iPod Touch is definitely not a graphic-intensive gaming device. Simple games. Usage is I think as you suggested mostly for music listening and for podcasts. I find video streaming to be a little too battery intensive.
I've never had an iPod because the prices are expensive here in Brazil ($1610 in my currency), now that they are discontinued, the prices are definetly gonna get worse. I'm afraid I'll never gonna get one now.
I had the first gen iPod and it was the first apple product I’ve ever owned and loved it. My iPod got me through my senior year of high school. Thanks for the memories iPod❤️
iPods especially the iPod Touches will be close to my heart. I have an iPod Touch 2G and 5G and those are my first venture of the Apple products and ecosystem.
I owned almost each series of the iPods before buying an iPhone for myself…. Still have the 6th generation though a dead screen… anyway RIP to the legendary device 😞😞
The iPod remains as one of the main stepping stones to Apple’s legacy. May it rest peacefully from the Apple website and thrive in the pockets of those that still posses one
When I got my iPhone 4 the iPod touch 4G was all the rage. It seemed everyone in high school had a one and you could tell because of the earbuds or the Angry Birds sounds. I played a lot of Big Time Gangsta, CSR, and DrawRace. When I jailbroke. NFS and Gangstar. I Remember playing LightBike2 with the homies in chemistry class. Listening to music on Pandora while in class with the headphones running under my shirt so the teacher couldn’t see. Damn those are good times. While I never had one they were everywhere back in the day. I’m gonna pick one up at an Apple store tomorrow and just keep it stored away. RIP iPod touch, 2007 - 2022
Sad. I use my iPod when I run. Slim, small and light. My IPhone 12 is to large and heavy. I may have to get another IPod so when mine is on it’s last days I’ll have a replacement.
My home button on my iPod 7 is the same way. You have to press it hard. Battery will only last a couple of hours. Worst of all, it's an iPod but it struggles to steam Apple Music. The Music app will often crash when music is playing with the screen locked.
They discontinued making iPod touch 7 not selling them and due to the low sales of iPod touch 7 I still believe it will be around to stay for a little bit. Although apple stopped production the fact that they didn’t stop selling the iPod touch 7 shows me it’ll still likely get iOS 16.
Oh man, RIP. The iPod was also my introduce to apple products. I love music and the iPod at the time seemed to be the only stable mp3 device and I’ve had one ever since. So many people would ask me why I have an iPod if I have an iPhone and it’s because I have so much music. I wanted to use my phone for phone stuff and iPod for music stuff. I would love to get a brand new iPod as the one I have now is going but the price for the amount of space I NEED is yikes 😬 😭 RIP
I need to get one when i have some money. I use the ipod 6 currently and really need a new one sad to see its not getting updated but I will make due with it for the next few years. I'm hoping they have a clearout sale
I agree Ik apple stopped production for iPod touch 7 but the fact that apple is still selling the iPod touch 7 shows they’ll likely support it on iOS 16. If they were to drop support for a10 devices than apple would’ve stopped producing and (selling) the iPod touch entirely like they did with the 6th Gen . Also its apparent that the a10 chip is more than powerful enough for iOS 16.
My first ever Apple product was a 5th gen iPod Touch (64GB - Max storage back then) I'll never forget opening it for the first time. Packaging was pretty much identical to the 7th gen.
@@yumasquires when I bought it I also bought > Beats Solo HD Wired On-Ear Headphone - Light Blue and >Belkin AV10127tt03-BLU MiXiT Tangle-Free Aux / Auxiliary Cable (Blue) It was pretty much blue blue blue. I remember how hyped I was about the camera, and all the apps I had access to… one of my favorite games, which is no longer available from the Dev, was Stampede Run. But one app that I was always jealous of, growing up, was the Phone app - cause that meant you had an iPhone. Lol Funny the thought process back then.
Unfortunately, I think the iPod touch was dead a long time ago. But I will never forget the iPod touches I had. 2nd, 4th and 5th gen. Hell, I will never forget I started watching this channel when it was still bbsipodtouch.
It's heart breaking but they can do like samsung. You see the samsung discontinued their note model phones. But they include the note models feature in s22 ultra version. And note users feel that they using their note device as well as s series. Apple can do that in other form or way. But I think they never gonna do that. It actually hurts. This device launched by my favorite genius Steve Jobs.
Terribly disappointed that Apple did this. I depend on my iPod Touch to hold my entire music collection. I use it at the gym. So now what do I use to hold my music? So many devices are NOT compatible with iTunes...This news made me angry at Apple...
It’s funny since now in 2022 I still use an iPod classic for music listening now ... and I have no music or streaming services in my iPhone (8 plus) 🤷♂️
Nothing wrong with this device except for the price of $200 , it should be more like $49, you can get top of line used androids phones for $200 ex: LG V60 with stereo speaker, better battery, Etc…
Well this is depressing :( Apple should’ve kept the 7th Gen going for as long as the a10 chip is supported for iOS for kids and people who want a second device. I know you can still find them on eBay or marketplace refurbished or used but still Apple. Sad.
RIP iPod, you'll always have a place in my heart 🥲

Worst of all, it's an iPod but it struggles to steam Apple Music. The Music app will often crash when music is playing with the screen locked.
Love that blue colour also~ But now it is difficult to get such a device with 256Gb!
Now I’m wondering how to play my stuff on an android device similar to my iPod touch…..I have a bunch on iTunes…
I still have my 6th gen battery absolutely sucks but it’s still good for a music player. My first ever apple product was the iPod touch 4
3 reasons to buy an ipod touch over an iPhone
1. It has a headphone jack
2. It is in nicer colors
3. It's becoming collectable
Mostly the first one
To be fair, its really redundant now. But RIP still.
They discontinued making iPod touch 7 not selling them and due to the low sales of iPod touch 7 I still believe it will be around to stay for a little bit. Although apple stopped production the fact that they didn’t stop selling the iPod touch 7 shows me it’ll still likely get iOS 16.
Not to mention the a10 chip is still a more than capable processor for iOS 16.
Yeah, iOS 16 is a possibility but I can't see anything further than maybe iOS 17. Especially if the 6S loses support this year
Oh man, RIP.
I would love to get a brand new iPod as the one I have now is going but the price for the amount of space I NEED is yikes 😬 😭 RIP
iPod touch was my first apple product
Man, K-12 Education is going to be devastated. Guess iPad sales will go up.
No doubt
I need to get one when i have some money. I use the ipod 6 currently and really need a new one sad to see its not getting updated but I will make due with it for the next few years. I'm hoping they have a clearout sale
I still think the iPod touch 7th generation will get iOS 16 because it has the same A10 chip as the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
That would be surprising
I agree Ik apple stopped production for iPod touch 7 but the fact that apple is still selling the iPod touch 7 shows they’ll likely support it on iOS 16. If they were to drop support for a10 devices than apple would’ve stopped producing and (selling) the iPod touch entirely like they did with the 6th Gen . Also its apparent that the a10 chip is more than powerful enough for iOS 16.
@@BrandonButch yeah definitely it would be
@@BrandonButch I hope you’re doing well
My first ever Apple product was a 5th gen iPod Touch (64GB - Max storage back then)
I'll never forget opening it for the first time. Packaging was pretty much identical to the 7th gen.
@@yumasquires mine was (is - still hanging around) blue.
@@yumasquires when I bought it I also bought
> Beats Solo HD Wired On-Ear Headphone - Light Blue
and
>Belkin AV10127tt03-BLU MiXiT Tangle-Free Aux / Auxiliary Cable (Blue)
It was pretty much blue blue blue.
I remember how hyped I was about the camera, and all the apps I had access to… one of my favorite games, which is no longer available from the Dev, was Stampede Run. But one app that I was always jealous of, growing up, was the Phone app - cause that meant you had an iPhone. Lol
Funny the thought process back then.
Unfortunately, I think the iPod touch was dead a long time ago. But I will never forget the iPod touches I had. 2nd, 4th and 5th gen. Hell, I will never forget I started watching this channel when it was still bbsipodtouch.
Sad that they never re-released the iPod classic. Could be useful even nowadays imo.
My only purchase of an Apple product was an iPod Touch 2nd Gen I even had it engraved, sad to see it go.
The iPod was my first Apple device as well 😎❤️📱That Blue one was the one I had. 😔
Hey Brandon, do you think Apple would discontinue the Apple TV HD? Since it’s still running the A8 chip.
Just bought one today. their website says they sell it while supplies last. if you want one better get one now.
I thought they were coming out with an 8th generation but nope
Will the iPod touch 7 get iOS 16
My 1st ever device I saved for was the iPod touch years ago where I saved up for it. Great memories
I just bought one of the last ones brand new before they disappear for good. I still use my 1st gen touch but it has problems.
I too wish iPhones came in the same blue color as the iPod touch 7.
It’s funny since now in 2022 I still use an iPod classic for music listening now ... and I have no music or streaming services in my iPhone (8 plus) 🤷♂️
I picked one up today mostly to revisit the iPod touch
that ipod is getting ios 16, it will stop to have software updates until the iphone 7 g stop being supported (so like in 2 years will be unsopported)
So can I transfer data from an iPod touch to a iphone like a new ipod to a new iphone
I know apple actually has a good reason for it, but i still dont think i can forgive them
Nothing wrong with this device except for the price of $200 , it should be more like $49, you can get top of line used androids phones for $200 ex: LG V60 with stereo speaker, better battery, Etc…
can i still use messenger, facebook, twitter and other app in the future even if my ipod 7 touch will not get any OS updates from Apple?
Love that shade of blue
I always look for it every time I went to Apple store 😭
I was hoping for an iPod Touch 8th Generation 😂
The home button is not normal. I have an iPod Touch 7th Generation and the home button works completely fine.
There really isn’t a place for the iPod touch anymore. Just go get an iPhone SE or 12 or 13 mini.
I miss my 160GB iPod Classic. I sold it when I was broke :(
I love how small it is and how I can listen. A iPhone is to bulky for music
Well this is depressing :( Apple should’ve kept the 7th Gen going for as long as the a10 chip is supported for iOS for kids and people who want a second device. I know you can still find them on eBay or marketplace refurbished or used but still Apple. Sad.
